Good food but crust is NOT dairy or egg free. I was very disappointed as I am dairy free as well but my soup and salad were delicious.

My recent visit to the Couch Tomato/Bistro was for my birthday dinner with my parents. It was the perfect location to entertain such an occasion with my favorite meal – good pizza and craft beer. The atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting and the service was friendly and prompt. The beer offerings were fresh and well diversified. Shared a few of the small pizza’s and plates among my family and every dish was creative, thoughtful, well-presented and most importantly delicious.

I've been to the Couch Tomato about 5 times now and each experience has been wonderful. Food is excellent here. I recommend the mac and cheese, it is absolutely delicious! Also the sliders are a great alternative - specifically the pulled pork one! The gluten free cider is a great light beverage as well and isn't too sweet, better than Angry Orchard's Cider, definitely recommend trying that out.

Their menu features many gluten free items. I've only ever been here for their lunch buffet. Even without the groupon or yelp deal it's a good deal for the $$. This is no "Super Buffet" with endless aisles of warming trays. There are usually or 3 salads, some sautéed veggies, a pasta dish, a meat dish, several hand-thrown pizzas, and, if you're lucky, these awesome little egg and sausage burrito things. Man, I really love those things. They have home-made potato chips sometimes, and a soup I think. Because it's a smaller layout of food, everything is fresh. The servers are constantly putting things out and replenishing. Everything is very delicious. Especially those egg and sausage things. Last time we went, it was a Saturday and they had french toast and syrup and pulled pork sliders. Egg and sausage things were nowhere to be found...until we were stuffed to the gills and we see them bring out a platter of them Man, I wished I could have fit just one more bite in, but I would have popped! The pizzas are hand-thrown and they have veggie, pizza, and meat-based. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended if you want a buffet-style lunch but more than steam tables full of salty packaged pre-made stuff!

I just moved to Manayunk, PA for my Senior year of college and The Couch Tomato was the first place I went to eat with my roommates because we heard such great things about it. I love restaurants that offer many healthy, fresh options and you will not be disappointed by any salad or wrap you have. My favorite wraps and salads are The Food Pyramid, Holy Chipotle, and When in Rome. The pizza is also delicious and I can't wait to try more items off the menu as the year goes on! Hands down, my favorite restaurant/cafe to eat at with my friends!

I’ve been to the Couch Tomato Bistro just 2 times since moving to the area in May 2014. Both experiences have been exceptional! FOOD: Seriously, one of the best pizzas I’ve had in the Philadelphia area, hands down! I’ve lived in Philly my whole life, so I know the importance of a thin crust and a great sauce/cheese ratio, and the Bistro delivers! The pizzas they have on the menu are creative and everything goes so well together. I’ve also had salads here as well, great portions for the price and amazing as well! The food really cannot be beat whether you’re looking for a nice weekend evening out, or a weekday lunch. The wheat and gluten-free options are also a nice touch. ATMOSPHERE/SERVICE: Wait staff is attentive and very personable. Fast service and knowledgeable about the food (which is extremely important). They have specials throughout the week (live music on Wednesday, which is so good) and Sunday nights are BYOB. The dining area is dimly lit, but not too much that your eyes are strained. Overall, since moving to Manayunk, I’ve been to most of the restaurants on Main Street, and Tomato is the only one I have visited more than once, and will definitely be going back as often as I can!

At the Couch Tomato Cafe I am always satisfied with the selection, whether I want a salad or sandwich, there is a great variety. Fresh ingredients and always delicious! Such a great discovery! I loved my first dinner at the Tomato Bistro. The menu was impressive and exceeded my expectations, being that I came to eat a sandwich or salad that I'm used to at the downstairs part of the restaurant. I couldn't wait to go back. A great variety of food and drinks, perfect for a range of people's food preferences :)

You're guaranteed to find something for everyone on the menu no matter how picky your dinner guest is. I love their duck and apple pizza! Its my favorite! I don't have a gluten allergy but I always get it on gluten free crust because it tastes so good, and you get your own Tomato Bistro pizza cutter. Win, Win!!

Quick background for yall! I was diagnosed with Celiac when I was in 8th grade. That means that if I want to not feel like shit then I need to eat gluten free. I am now 23...almost 24 years old. I have been out of college for about a year now....Just so you have some background. Living around Manayunk for the past 5 years I have come to know the restaurant/bar scene fairly well. Eating gluten free for too many years has given me the pleasure/displeasure (depending on how it tastes) of trying many gluten free pizzas. Any where that advertises gluten free I've for sure tried it. Fortunately for me at the Couch Tomato my tongue enjoys their gluten free pizza. One of the few places I've been that actually makes their own gluten free dough. Most places just buy frozen crust and throw toppings on it. As I said, I've been gluten free since 8th grade; I have ate pizza containing gluten as far as I can remember. The gluten free pizza at Couch Tomato brings back the nostalgia of just being able to have a good pizza again. Good gluten free foods are hard to find and it is hard for me to find a quick food to eat. I can put in an order at Couch Tomato get a gluten free pizza and be on my way to the bars with a full stomach. What more can a guy like me ask for?! Along with the pizza they have great gluten free soups that change daily along with sandwiches and salads. If your gluten free the place just makes sense.

The Tomato Bistro is one of my absolute favorite gluten free restaurants! Only been there twice so far but I cant wait to go back. Everything on the menu sounds so delicious but I ordered the same thing both times just because it was so good. They are better than I could have imagined, seriously one of the best meals Ive ever had out to eat. The food is amazing, filling, and comes out really nicely arranged. Best sweet potato fries ever, too. Both times that I ate there our waiters were perfect, one of them was even helpful enough to go find out the name of the radio station that was playing when he overheard my friend talking about how much she liked it. Im a vegetarian and they had a ton of options for me, you can even substitute in fake meat for any of the dishes! This is one of the only places my friend with a very severe gluten allergy trusts, which is why I originally ended up trying it. Oh, and they valet park your car for free. And give you free samples of amazing gluten free tomato bisque. I could happily eat here every day.

My husband and I visited the Tomato Bistro for the first time on Friday afternoon 1/24. We decided to eat here because of the gluten-free options, but were pleasantly surprised with all of the vegan options as well. We each ordered a personal pizza (him a white pizza on GF dough, and me the fig pizza with vegan cheese on GF dough) and we both thought they were excellent. I would highly recommend this place for both allergen-free and non-restricted diets! You can check out their awesome menu at http://www.TheTomatoBistro.com.

The options are incredibly unique, but not weirdly so. The folks at the TB (http://www.TheTomatoBistro.com) have certainly put forth the time and effort to find incredible flavor combinations that you would never think of. I have been to the Couch Tomato multiple times. Both in the bistro and upstairs restaurant area. It is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. They have really great appetizers called small plates. It is like fancy tapas food but without the price. Their pizza is flavorful and there are a lot of unique flavors/ingredients to try from. The best part is that they have gluten-free pizza, rolls, desserts and are very accommodating in this respect. While their pizza and sliders are delicious my favorite thing I have gotten so far was the garlic cheesy bread and I added pepperoni. This is only the most delicious gluten-free bread-related product I have ever tried! I have been gluten-free for over a year now due to being allergic. When I come here I don't feel like I compromise value and delicious taste because I have to be gluten-free. Also, almost forgot to mention our waiter each time has been sweet and patient. There is nothing worse than having a waiter who has an attitude having to check things because you have an allergy.

We arrived at The Tomato Bistro at 3:30pm, which was still technically lunch, so that was cool. We got an awesome beer flight of several tasty craft beers (cider for me!) and some super yummy sliders. I particularly enjoyed the fried egg slider topped with apple jam and my partner liked the spiciness of the pimiento slider. The house-made chips were delightful. The portions were just enough to feel full, but not over-full. Will definitely be back to try their dinner menu and lunch buffet. Great place for gluten-free, vegan, and paleo diets!

We had been looking for restaurants that were healthier than the usual fare, that had vegetarian and gluten-free options, and The Tomato Bistro is just what we were looking for. The food is delicious - I particularly love the tomato bisque. The pizzas are also fabulous - I get the whole wheat crust. My husband gets gluten-free and I have to say that I like that too! What a cool place in the heart of Manayunk! I love the way The Tomato Bistro is decorated and if you sit on the top floor, you get a great view of Main Street Manyunk! The food is out of this world! Everything is so fresh and I love the presentation. Try the sliders and you will NOT be disappointed. The pulled pork is my favorite, but the kobe burgers are definitely up there! I happen to be gluten free and they had so many choices for me! The GF options are clearly labeled on the menu and I could stare at them for days trying to decide what to get, which is very exciting. I was really impressed with the service too. The Tomato Bistro has the friendliest waiters/waitresses I've ever seen and they're so knowledgeable and attentive. To give you an idea of how great this place is, I just moved to the area 2 weeks ago and I've been to The Tomato Bistro 2 times in the past week. It's THAT GOOD! Tomato Bistro is our local go to place for great reasonably priced cafe food and yummy specialty pizzas. Their lunch buffet is so worth it! Pizzas are always being changed, so you know the food is freshly made. I love customizing the salads and my husband is addicted to the chicken and waffles. If you give them your email and like them on Facebook, you accumulate points for free food and money off next visits. I've even used them for catering and the food was great and more then enough to go around on their generous platters. My daughter loves going there b/c she loves sitting on their famous red couch while I wait for my car from the valet... that's right FREE valet. She refers to the place as "the tomato place with the crayons" :) They have a great friendly atmosphere and nice bubbly servers that are always accommodating. Just bring a sweater... the A/C is always on high!

We got a groupon for this place after hearing a few good things, and must say they have a great thing going. We tried their gluten-free pizza, and it was out of this world. You can tell it is made on site, and it literally tasted so similar to regular pizza I had to ask the waitress several times just to make sure. Their whole menu is very gluten-free friendly, so we tried a salad and some of their small plates, and everything was really good. The atmosphere is great too. It's a good option for a night out with the wife. Great drink list too. And, they valet your car for free which is a nice touch in that town.
