chips are fried in separate fryer..always a plus. Be careful with the fajitas..the marinade that they use has soy sauce. On the menu they have a few good items that are GF. Pretty yummy!

The gluten free menu is semi-accurate. For enchiladas, stay away from the mole sauce AND the Chile con carne sauce (usually has flour in it everywhere). Migas are safe, queso is safe, tortilla chips are cross contaminated but I never have an issue with them.

Definitely NOT celiac friendly. I went to eat there after reading good reviews on here, and calling to inquire whether they had a gluten free menu. When we sat down to eat, my friend glanced over her menu and joked that I could probably eat chicken and lettuce. Our waiter brought me a "Gluten Friendly Menu" (what does that even mean?!?) but could not answer any of my questions about the menu and quickly brought a manager over to assist. By the time I had finished questioning her about the "Gluten Friendly Menu" we had whittled my ACTUAL choices down to....chicken and lettuce. The gf menu listed many, many items that actually contained gluten: chicken and steak fajita meat marinated in soy sauce, chips fried in a shared frier with sopapillas, etc etc. By the time I ordered I was pretty nervous to even eat it, but was starving so I risked it. I didn't get sick right away, but I did have some stomach discomfort and a migraine over the next two days, so I think even the rotisserie chicken seasoning had some gluten in it, either that or a lot of cross contamination. If you are sensitive at all to gluten, avoid this place.

Trudy's South Star turned out to be a good suggestion. My server Brittany was perfectly willing to go ask questions, and when she was worried about something she said so. I would call this a restaurant that tries to have gluten friendly offerings, but I would not say Celiac friendly. I chose the smoked chicken tacos with re-fried black beans, IIRC, and had no trouble afterward. Did not go away hungry!

Sadly, no GF desserts!

Waiter was very helpful in making sure everything was GF. Blackened Tilapia with Spanish rice and zucchini was fantastic...so flavorful. Also enjoyed chips, salsa, guac and a margarita. Delicious!

Trudy's is gluten-free friendly but does not have a dedicated side of the kitchen. Yummy salsa, corn tortillas and tinga pork. The mex-marts aren't bad either. ;)
