Summer staff?? Has not been properly trained to handle gluten free pizza. Staff member used the same ladle to spoon on sauce and spread onto non-gluten free dough returning ladle to the sauce container and immediately using the same utensil and sauce from the same container onto the "gluten free" pizza.
Most amazing pizza they use separate ovens and hold the pizza up in the air to prevent cross contamination. They even are dairy free friendly and know all toppings that are gf. Wish they had one where I live I will be getting one on the way out!
GF Pizza and GF breadsticks are unbelievably delicious! Care is taken to share GF items and items they cannot "guarantee" because of distributor. The service is fantastic and the prices are phenomenally reasonable. Have paid 3 times the price at Dominos for a mediocre pizza. This has just become a favorite and regular stop on our way North to the mountains.
Although they changed their gloves for me, I had some concerns about cross-contamination (shared toppings, no dedicated prep area). Also, when I ordered gluten-free, the server asked, "Is that because of an intolerance, or a choice?" Which to me sounds like code for "How careful do we need to be?" Not to mention that it's really none of their business and it shouldn't matter to them. The pizza was good, but I have mixed feelings about going back.
Amazing place. Staff is very well trained in gluten allergies. They changed their gloves for me and used different utensils as well as a different crust & sauce. Also, they have two gluten free desserts! Definitely will go back again.
Very good GF crust and knowledgable staff! They were extremely kind and took the time to answer all my questions. Separate utensils are used and I felt very confident that my pizza would be prepared in a safe way. My husband also loved his non gf pizza! We'll be coming back. :)
do not have a gluten free area we have had problems with contamination. we no longer eat there.
Great thin gluten free pizza crust. Lots of organic ingredients and super fresh preparations. You watch as your food is prepared and staff is well trained in GF food prepping procedures. Super yum!
The choices are excellent but my daughter with celiacs was sick within 1 1/2 hours of eating the gf pizza. For that reason I can't recommend it.
I read several reviews for this restaurant regarding their gluten free crust. It seemed as if there was something special about this crust, but in reality it is the standard crust from the Food Service that everyone uses. The pizza was okay, but it certainly wasn't worth the drive to get to this place because it was just an average experience.
My family & I needed a meal after my son golf tournament. Uncle Maddios was a Excellent option. I'm the gluten allergy, I was stated that needed gluten free crust for an allergy. Gabriel was on point he changed gloves & Tony wiped the counter down. All of my toppings came from fresh containers under the counter. My pizza was great. Thanks guys for the excellent customer service!!! We will definitely come again when we visit High Point, NC
The food is delicious but the service is disappointing. When I alerted the staff to my allergy he rolled his eyes. On a previous visit they made sure to use new ingredients and avoid the ones that has cross contamination. He obviously did not want to make the extra effort to grab the fresh ingredients from behind the counter. He became short and rude. I apologized for the inconvenience but it didn't make a difference. I was obviously upset about how he was acting so other staff was very friendly to me. However, in the end he left ingredients off of my pizza and they put a cracker in my salad... After he made a huge deal about it being an inconvenience to make things gluten free. I left before I checked and now I can't eat half of my meal. I would not trust the gluten free status of this location.
Awesome! My daughter has Celiac Disease and they are very diligent in preparing gluten free food. Here's the thing. Our food was excellent, but on this Friday night (Easter Weekend), five of their employees did not show up for work, and they only had the Manager and an outstanding pizza maker. These two have restored my hope in America. They were working like crazy and smiling the entire time. Seriously, I hope everyone who reads this will give them a visit. Great place, and I never give higher than three stars.
Fantastic pizza! And I mean the gluten free pizza is fantastic!! They ask if gluten free is an allergy or a preference and then proceed with all new ingredients and gloves and work station. They get it!! The flavors of the pizza are fantastic and they have a smaller size gf pizza so that my non celiac hubby can get what he wants too. Best staff Ever and delicious food. We are here two days in a row and will be back!!
They always have a problem with using new sauce and cheese
I have celiac disease and this restaurant was a great find. The staff was professional and knowledgeable. I had a delicious veggie pizza on a gluten free crust and a gluten free Greek salad. Both were incredibly delicious! My server asked if I needed to have gluten free and I said that I did. She immediately went and changed her gloves and took the vegetables that went on my pizza from a different place she also went into the back and got my salad from a different place. I highly recommend this restaurant. I live in Myrtle Beach South Carolina and I wish we had an uncle maddio's by me. I will be making trips to Charleston just for their food.
This location went above and beyond in trying to assure that my child's food was gluten free and suffered no cross contamination. In fact, they went to measureses beyond any restaurant I have encountered in the 2 yrs of GF dining. Counters cleaned, gloves changed, ingredients reviewed, prep utensils changed, fresh closed non cross contaminated ingredients retrieved from the fridge. Tasty safe pizza! Thank you, what a great staff!
Absolutely love this place!! Perfect lunch spot for celiacs or anyone with a gluten intolerance. They get separate toppings, clean down the counter, change gloves, and many more protocols to prevent cross contamination once you say gluten free. Their menu is clearly marked, and the crust is great!! The ingredients taste super fresh! They are consistent and every person who has helped me has been trained to a t.
Food was good and staff was helpful. This is like Chipotle, only it is pizza rather than Mexican. From what I was told this is a franchise out of ATL. It was pricier than Pie Five, which is a competing franchise in this space. @ Uncle Maddio's you get three toppings at no charge and then it is $.50 per topping.
Our pizzas were incredible, not to mention affordable. The staff was amazing and very helpful. They went out of their way to assure there was no cross contamination, and that our allergies were taken seriously. We are HUGE fans. What a relief to have a place to go and not worry about getting sick. Great atmosphere and staff. We will certainly be back soon!

We were passing through the area over the Thanksgiving weekend and were feeling pretty "hangry." Traveling with gluten sensitivity is always so stressful! Grabbed a couple of Uncle Maddio's GF pizzas and and felt great! Even our non-GF daughter loved them! Looks to be our new "go-to" stop when around Cranberry.
They use completely different ingredients and change their plastic gloves for anyone who wants gluten free pizza. They can also make great gluten free pizza with goat cheese if you ask. We eat here regularly and never have a problem. Great pizza and personable staff.
Not only do they have GF pizza, they take it really seriously. Cleaned the prep area, used different topping containers from the back, server changed his gloves. They were not playing. It was awesome. And I was not glutened so it worked...and now I know I can have pizza again every now & then. Pretty cool! Ps - the guy there is the one whole told me about this app! Another win!
These folks are incredible! They scrape and clean the working surfaces before preparing the GF pizza. And, they pull the toppings from a non-contaminated area. When I commented about the thoroughness of their process, the young man in the prep area said, "It's because we care."
Although the effort for gluten free is there, this place does not know what it means for cross contamination. They use the same sauce spoons for all the pizzas and so you watch them touch wheat dough and then use the same one with the same sauce on the gluten free one. All the sides are just laid out and they are not fresh. I understand that to make the food process faster they do it this way, but all the sides were getting into one another. It was messy. For someone who has to be very careful about what they eat (for me I am gluten and dairy free) this is not the place for them. If gluten free is just preference then you will probable be fine. They are short staffed so everyone was stressed and really could not put effort into making the food right. This place was dirty because everyone was so busy trying to keep up with orders. The salad making station was just as messy as the side station. The effort was there, with keeping the allergy gluten free crust in a different place, that was nice. And they did switch gloves so that was good too. This place just isn't there yet with their food prep places. I would suggest to them, to hire more people to keep up with the business and to really make sure that things are being cleaned up. Also to have the gluten free pizzas made in a whole different and separate station. So all your sauces and spoons are separate and the sides what you just touched stuff with wheat hands don't come into contact with the gluten free options.
