I love this place! I come almost every Friday for a fish fry. Staff is great and the food is amazing! There are so many options to choose from and every option is delicious. You can never go wrong with what you choose.

The French fries and cheese curds were great. The sandwiches weren't awesome. However, the fried rice was good. I would go back just for the freedom to eat anything without having to ask a bunch of questions or ask about cross contamination

Wauwatiki is a 100% dedicated gluten free restaurant.Their kitchen is verified GF.

We had the fish and chips. Let me just say, the fish tasted incredibly fresh and super tasty! The fries had a secret recipe for flavoring. It was a salty and sweet combo. I liked the fish more than the fries but the fries were good too! We opted out on dessert, which was a coconut brownie or ice cream.

The staff was very attentive and cleaning plates and tables and checking in on you.The lighting is a bit dark inside with lots of tiki vibes of lighting, bamboo roofs over tables and tiki wall art.

Just finished eating there and the food was amazing. The kitchen is 100% gluten free and the waiter told us they (employees) are not even allowed to bring their own food in. It is very hard to find things that are breaded and we found them tonight! The cheese curds and. Chicken strips were amazing

The most amazing thing as someone with Celiac Disease is finding a place with a dedicated GF fryer. Wauwatiki not only has that, but has a completely dedicated kitchen as well.

I was told upfront that not all of the drinks may be gluten free, which is important to keep in mind, I believe if you can’t drink wheat-based spirits.

We ordered a few drinks and had the fries and cheese curds with the volcano ranch and regular ranch.

10/10 would go back every day if I could!

I went to this place and got the barbecue chicken pizza and it was awesome! I ate the entire thing. The way the restaurant is decorated is really cool to, and all the servers and the bartender were friendly. A dream come true for celiacs! Would come here all the time if I lived near the area.

My food was great. I got the fried cod and fries. It was awesome! Big sections of fish, breading was delicious and i like the seasoning. The fries were really good. I got volcano ranch to dip them in 🤤 Everything came out hot and fresh. Cute atmosphere. I will definitely go back!

A great option for 100% certified gluten-free pub food. Friday fish fry (cod) was tasty, but overall too salty. Crack fries were also overly seasoned. Local lemon/lime soda served instead of the usual national brands – a nice change. We did not try any of their alcoholic beverages. Many of those were not GF/safe.

Celiac, here. Ordered the Hawaiian Fried Rice and pretzel bites, neither of which were tasty or enjoyable. The rice was a lot of bland, unseasoned, clumpy rice with 8 edamame and 6 small pineapple pieces. Left most of it on the plate. The pretzel bites were totally gummy - couldn't eat them and didn't have the 'pretzel' quality; didn’t have the baking soda bath or were baked long enough. Server said, "that's the way gluten free foods are." Well, no, I do GF baking and I know that's not true IF you know how to bake GF. And cheap, flimsy plastic cutlery in this pricey restaurant, really?! Server informed us that only a few drinks were GF. Very disappointing. Though food is celiac-safe, drinks are not so not a dedicated GF facility.

I’m not really sure what to say. I was ecstatic about finding this restaurant and had the chance to eat here late at night after coaching a tournament. The food tasted great but then I woke up the next morning in excruciating pain and vomiting violently for hours. I’m not sure what could have happened. Great Food! We met at Wauwatiki for the Friday Night Fish Fry and it was Fantastic!! We also enjoyed deep fried cheese curds and they were great as well. One in our group opted for a Caesar salad that she considered sub par for the addition of unripe tomatoes and too much dressing, but overall our experience was really great. They feature fun tropical cocktails and we tried several and they were all spectacular. We were in the area for a wedding and I am so glad we found this place. Wish we lived closer so I could try everything on the menu!

It was great to go to a place where we didn’t have to worry about getting sick! Waitress Ally was VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE! Dedicated Gluten Free everything! Great fries, wonderful fried rice, drinks were gf and Ally said she could make any drink, however some rum was made that could be cross contaminated, but she warned us ahead of time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This place is AMAZING. 100% gluten free (aside from some of the alcoholic drinks). I double checked celiac safety because I am paranoid, but felt very safe after speaking with the waitress. I am still dreaming about the fried cheese curds. Fish fry and fried rice were also fantastic. Go here!!!

My family loves this place. We get food from them every time we are in Milwaukee.

So far we’ve only gotten food takeout, but the staff and bartenders are always super friendly.

Atmosphere is fun and they do have outdoor seating if the weather permits.

So so so so so good!

The staff was super courteous and helpful. We showed up with a group of 15 and they all jumped in together to make it work.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. Being able to order the entire menu and not having to worry about cross contamination was amazing. I had the jerk chicken sandwich- amazing. If this place wasn’t 100% GF I would’ve thought they gave me a regular bun on accident. I cannot stress enough how phenomenal the food was.

Even the non-gluten free members of our party said it was the best food they had in Milwaukee.

100% will be going back

Unfortunately, the service is unconcerned at best. Dismissive would be more accurate. Servings sizes are remarkably tiny. This was true even before the recession. When people hear that I have celiac, they always mention going there, but I just can't make myself pay those prices for a tiny amount of uninteresting food.

I have had Wauwatiki three times now. The first two were to go and it was just okay, but in person it was very, very good. Got wings, and fried fish both were very tasty.

Drinks were just okay, kind of one note, but they have plenty of options and they are not outrageously overpriced or anything.

Definitely looking forward to returning.

LOVED the food here. Everything has such great flavors and offers unique GF options I haven’t seen before. Food was so good we ordered more meals to-go to eat the next day where GF options were more limited. Kept great in a cooler and fridge. Even my non-GF mom loved her food. You wouldn’t be able to tell that any of it was missing gluten. Must stop for anyone looking to eat flavorful food, regardless of if you have to eat GF. Interesting cocktails as well, would recommend the water of life (so refreshing!)

Called ahead to confirm & they are a 100% gluten free kitchen. (Not the bar). Great atmosphere as soon as we walked in. My wife & I also have to avoid corn (in all forms except starch) as well as soy. In addition, she needs to avoid diary.

Upon arrival it turned out they use a lot of soy. However, our server Teiko (who was excellent) spoke to us about our allergies and the chef was nice enough to come to the table and talk to us about options. Happy to modify anything we needed in order to stay healthy. While the fryer was off limits to us because of the soy deal (cross contamination), the chef was kind enough to heat up some fresh oil on the kitchen stove top since he wasn’t very busy and we were ordering fries as well as two orders of coconut Shrimp.

The fries are called crack fries and there is a reason. They are freaking good!!! We both also enjoyed our coconut shrimp with sweet chili sauce. I even got to have a virgin Pina Colada (not allowed to have alcohol at the moment).

The real stars of the show were the main dishes Chef Ekwe produced for us. Staci went crazy for the Pork Loco Moco and my Tiki Beef with Sesame oil was dynamite.

Very grateful for this experience. We are on the road traveling and when you don’t have a kitchen where you can control your own food a place like this is a beacon of light. We will return and we suggest you come and enjoy for yourself. Check this joint out. Food allergies or not everyone in the place seemed to be having a great experience as well really enjoying their meal.
