Being new to the Gluten free world, I've been afraid to go out to eat. I came here and instantly felt at ease with the knowledgeable and caring staff. They brought out gluten free bread and dipping oil for me, I was thrilled. I highly recommend Not your average Joe's.
I'm new to the gluten free world. I don't have celiac but I'm very gluten sensitive/intolerant. Who knew. This place is great. Decent options on the menu from bread with a dipping sauce at your table through dessert. I just finished eating so I don't know about any cross contamination issues. They were very knowledgeable and friendly.
gf menu, beer, trained staff. love this place
amazing food. they give gluten free bread and dip with every meal; the bread is soft and delicious. if you get a salad, get the dressing on the side.
LOVE NYAJs! It's one of the very few places that offer GF bread (and its caramelized onion bread that's served warm with my own dipping sauce). Their menu changes which gives new foods to try. I attended a GF 6 course wine pairing at the Glen Mills site and loved sampling more foods with other Celiacs and those with NCGS. I rave about this place at the NJ Celiac Support Association #9 support group.
just had my first lunch out after celiac diagnosis and luckily picked this restaurant! The manager was so positive and helpful about selecting from their many choices on the gluten free menu. The waiter Daniel was also cheerful, helpful and attentive. will definitely go there again.
Excellent GF menu, attentive and well-trained servers, consistently safe for me (Celiac). Servers remember and confirm at every stage GF. I am comforted by their consistency and professionalism; even when in Philadelphia tried the experience there and was consistent and delicious! Great to feel safe and enjoy well prepared meal.
So, I did get glutened here, but I really don't think it is something that normally happens. That is why I am still giving them a 4 star. Ordered the Ahi Tuna Wontons. Someone in the kitchen made a mistake and they put regular soy sauce on it. They actually caught the error, but not in time. The manager came out asked me how sensitive I was. I have celiac, so, pretty sensitive. He was very upset that it happened. Our whole meal was free and he took my number to call me the next day to see how I was. We are always taking chances when we go to any restaurant. I really appreciated their honesty and they really could have not said anything to me at all, butnthey made a point to come and talk to me and I was really disappointed, but I could tell they were all very disappointed too. Even the server was so apologetic. I would still recommend this place, but if you get any Asian flavored food, make sure it is GF soy sauce. Side note: The GF onion bread and oil dip is amazing.
Good variety, knowledgeable about allergies, meal delivered by the manager. Food was good for GF and non-GF diners. Great GF bread.
Waitress was helpful, but food came from a teenage food runner, not the manager or my waitress who I think said "no soy included" and ran away. I had to flag down my waitress to make sure the kitchen got the gluten allergy. She did, but still no manager. Food was gross. Chicken was like rubber. This is the first time I've ever sent my food back in a restaurant and it was my birthday. I've been to other locations and had better luck, but I won't be returning here.
My very first restaurant experience after my celiac diagnosis was at the Glen Mills, PA location. Our server immediately noticed my GF menu and was kind, knowledgable, and helpful. He made recommendations (which I followed) and the food was delicious. I had the grilled chicken caprese. The food runner delivered my food by saying "here is your GF chicken caprese," which I appreciated. From start to finish I felt as though my allergy was being considered and taken seriously.
NYAJ is one of the few chains I feel confident eating at when traveling. This location was no exception; friendly staff and seamless accommodation. Waiter brought gf bread to the table with a separate dipping sauce dish without being asked, and a different person brought out the gf meals separate from the regular ones. Would have been five stars if the sandwich was as good as I've had at other locations. The grilled chicken was a bit dry and there was a single pale tomato slice instead of the sundried tomatoes advertised. Still, I'm always happy to be eating somewhere safe!
They have a separate gluten free menu. Great selection :) I was a very happy diner. Definitely recommend, I'd love to try more from the menu!
We go to the Glen Mills, PA location. They really try here. We don't usually like chain restaurants but we have found they really try to provide fresh, imaginatively prepared food suitable for those with celiac. I have celiac and have eaten there numerous times and have never had any problems afterwards.
My family has been eating at Not Your Average Joes for years, and when I was recently diagnosed with a gluten intolerance, we found out about the gluten free menu! There are so many great options and even some you won't find on the regular menu! They also give you a really good gluten free roll. I'd highly recommend the salads, the gluten free chicken picatta, or the pesto gnocchi (not sure if this was a summer special or not.)
I'm a celiac and not your average joes claims to be gluten free however they gave me bread with gluten in it and the manager and wait staff both assured me in person it was indeed gluten free however an hour after eating it, I was sick for days. They are not celiac friendly.
Many gluten free options. Separate menu. Really good food.
