Great experience here. Staff was super knowledgeable and asked about allergies right after seating us. Waitress got me a gluten free menu after I told them about being Celiac. Waitress also knew I couldn't have fries because of cross contamination. I got the mustard crusted BLT. It was definitely safe and gluten free. Tasted fine, not amazing. Green beans as a side were so good though. The menu had a ton of other options. Everything is pretty pricey, but it was nice to know I could eat my meal safely! Would definitely go back and try something else.

Server was careful about gf. Mustard crusted chicken sandwich was okay, but the gluten free rolls for appetizer and with the sandwich were the best I’ve ever had!

I always have a great experience here they are always on top of it with allergies asking upon everyone ordering. As soon as I made them aware of my allergy they brought AMAZING GF bread rolls with separate dipping oil and a gluten free menu. The GF menu has lots of options. Personally I get the kids GF Mac and cheese and it comes in an adult portion absolutely perfect !

I ordered gluten free pasta and was given the regular gluten pasta. They told me about their error after I ate my meal.
And of course now I am horribly sick. Please do not go here - you can’t trust them.

Good food. Ordered the salmon and green bean and rice with quinoa. It was yummy. I did not get sick. I was worried the rice was seasoned with something but I think it was butter and I’m not used to seasoning. Anyway, good meal.

I work not too far from the Burlington location so I ordered takeout - well 3 strikes ( no clue why I gave 3! ) and all done!! I marked gluten sensitive with gluten free bread , to my surprise 3 times getting back to my office with a side of gluten containing focaccia bread with the main bag receipt reading gluten sensitive! Yes, I should’ve checked before leaving but was rushing and had faith! I messaged to tell them, first time I called to double check if this bread was gluten free and response was oops we automatically add that bread. The last email I sent the response I got was sorry it happened again we’re embarrassed.. yup that was it, I responded this location doesn’t seem to take gluten issue’s seriously.. week later NO RESPONSE! Now I definitely do not feel comfortable ordering take out ( that’s not cheap ) or eating in the restaurant

As others have mentioned, there is a “gluten sensitive” menu. Kids had GF rolls with dipping sauce, GF Mac n cheese, and GF pasta with butter. All was good, but needed to add seasoning to the pasta with butter (ended up added the GF bread dipping sauce which was oil, garlic, Romano, and crushed red pepper).

As soon as you walk in and as for a table, they ask if you want a gluten free menu! Was nice to not have to ask like I always do. I had the pasta and the veggie burger ordered from the gluten free menu. The bun fell apart quickly but the pasta texture was perfect! They also brought gluten free rolls for the table. I felt that they took allergies seriously and I would go there again.

I have been to this chain in Massachusetts several times and it was fantastic. Unfortunately I was super disappointed in this location. I felt safe and didn’t get sick but the food was awful. I got the chicken caprese sandwich. The gf roll was horrible. It was stale and not grilled or warmed. The cheese was not even melted on the sandwich and since their fries are not gf I got steamed broccoli as my side and it was cold. I will say that the gf carrot cake was delicious but was $10.50 for the slice. Maybe they were having an off night but I would never go back.

I have been going here for years and they are typically very cautious when dealing with allergies, but my last experience was awful.
I ordered the gumbo and there was a non gluten free noodle inside of it. I also ordered a non alcoholic pineapple painkiller - I'm allergic to ethanol alcohol - it contained alcohol.
Needless to say, I'm incredibly sick. I won't be going back as it seems like their allergy protocols are really taking a nosedive.
Celiacs may want to be very wary of this place.

I just have to tell you about the incredible experience I had at Not Your Average Joes in Hyannis today. They have a decent gf menu with gf onion rolls for sandwiches. However, I also have allergies to onions and garlic. I ordered the chicken piccata with gf pasta. The manager came out to clarify my specific issues and told me the gf breadcrumbs have garlic and onions, as does the sauce. He spoke to the chef, who made a special gf chicken piccata for me! And it was absolutely delicious and the portion was huge! They went above and beyond and they deserve to be recognized for it. If you haven’t been there, give them a try.

Reliably gluten free. They have a diverse GF menu and knowledgeable servers. That said, the food here is not great. I don’t know if it’s just the GF food or all the food…? Bland burgers, the fries are not that good, my salmon was over cooked and dry (and it takes a lot to overcook and dry out salmon.) BUT I love and appreciate that they have GF bread to bring to the table and will bring you olive oil or butter for it. And that’s why I come back. And the wings and cocktails are good, too. So hooray for not getting sick and thanks for the GF bread.

I’ve dined at 3-4 of their locations and have always had no issues and know they are usually very careful. This recent visit could have gone differently if I didn’t have a watchful eye and super responsive wait staff and management. We were seated near their open concept kitchen. I could see our meals come from the kitchen before being delivered. My meal was easy to spot since it had the large allergy toothpick in it. I watched the prep person reach over my meal a few times to grab big handful of not GF fries to place on other plates. As my heart rate started to rise LOL! I saw the server drop fries near my plate. At that point, I couldn’t tell if they landed on my plate but decided to mention it to our server when our meals were delivered. When our meals were delivered by another staff person I started to relay my concern (very nicely I might add) about the possible cross contamination and low and behold, fries on the metal tray that my plate was sitting on. The staff person was VERY apologetic (and a bit horrified). She whisked away my plate. When our original server noticed I didn’t have my meal and figured out why he came to the table very attentive and apologetic. Then the manager came over and same thing - very concerned. I explained how I could see it happen, etc. My new meal was delivered promptly. When we received the bill they comped my meal. For me, that was totally unnecessary as they took their mistake very seriously and quickly made things right. Good job NYAJ ! You just might want to finish off the GF meals in a dedicated location.

This chain is no longer Gluten Free. They have lowered their menu to Gluten "Friendly".
We ordered a super crunch salad for some someone with Celiac in a take out order. Discovered a bread crouton in the salad. Manager informed us they do their best but can't guarantee GF. Received no compensation for inedible meal.

We had ordered a Supercrunch G-F salad* and noticed a cube of bread mixed in with the quinoa. In response to our concern, the regional manager said NYAJ cannot guarantee G-F and the menu now says “gluten sensitive,” no longer “gluten-free.” We have had more than one food safety issue with this restaurant.
*When ordering, we mentioned more than once that the customer has celiac disease. The receipt labelled the salad “G-S.”

I was a little worried if they would take the necessary precautions since they handed me a “gluten sensitive” menu. However, after talking to the waitstaff, they made me feel confident that they take allergies very seriously and have many celiac customers. (I would just make sure to make them aware of your allergy). They brought out gf bread rolls (which were super fluffy) and baked in a separate bowl. I enjoyed my mustard crusted chicken (which looked a little less appetizing than the regular one, but still was good). Would definitely come back.

Have eaten here several times. They have “gluten sensitive” menu could appeal to all. Food is GOOD and I have never had an issue. I’d highly recommend for lunch or dinner. The Burlington area has a wealth of gluten-free/ gluten-sensitive options. NYAJ is certainly among the top.
Eat here at your own risk. Our waiter basically said one word the entire time we were there. 2 gluten free meals ordered and 1 regular menu item ordered with gluten free bread and dip. He came and placed the bread down on the table with no word and walked away. It tasted so good I had to ask for his attention to come back to the table to confirm that it was gluten free. Where he said “oh no it’s not gluten free, we’re still waiting for that one to come out”. Find a better restaurant where the staff know how to communicate. I am now very sick from this restaurant.

Average is exactly what you get here. The gluten free menu has many things, but the quality of the food was mediocre at best. And if you are thinking that the $ on the listing means you are going to get a good deal. Think again. This place is definitely on the pricy side.

One of the best GF restaurant experiences I have had. GF buns heated up with delicious olive oil based dip to begin with. I was given my own dip jar with the waiter saying ‘to avoid double dipping’ with my family who are not GF! Then breaded haddock (GF bread crumbs), mashed potatoes and broccoli. My family loved their food and we were given complimentary desert due to a delay in being seen when arriving - a GF carrot cake with caramel for me! Strongly recommend!!

It was so yummy. They had tons of options... and the regularly offered carrot cake is GF. Everyone gets a GF menu and they mark your order so the entire kitchen team knows. The host and all the waitstaff were well versed in safety measures. Best experience I've had in a restaurant in a long time.

There was a separate "Gluten Sensitive" menu and the staff asked whether my reasoning was due to allergy or sensitivity. In fact, my server was celiac. After explaining my allergies, they made sure to keep things separate. You do have to specify your allergies as not all ingredients are listed on the menu. I got a gluten free burger. The food was reasonably good and the atmosphere was nice. The only downside was the wait time during lunch which resulted in us waiting at our table for our food for 30+ minutes. Overall good experience though.

I was so excited to get gluten-free food while visiting family. After speaking with the restaurant staff twice, I was assured that gluten-free was no problem and they could also make sure that my food was also dairy free. We just picked up the food and got it home, after a 20+ minute drive each way, and instead of the gluten-free side I ordered I got *bread.* And instead of no sauce (and specifically no dairy), which we asked for, I got some kind of cream sauce with no lid on it that spilled all over the rest of my food. Ridiculous! I would never go back here again ever.
UPDATE: ever since eating this terrible food several days ago, I have been in digestive distress. I have serious doubts that my food was gluten-free. I do not have celiac, but I am gluten sensitive. Minor cross contamination doesn’t affect me, so I am fairly certain that the gluten-free haddock that I ordered was not at all gluten-free. I haven’t been sick like this since I have been off of gluten, and that has been nearly 6 years.
