• Rubio's

    1 starsOctober 22, 2012

4201 Oceanside Blvd., Oceanside, CA 92057

Since this is a GF review app, I have to give Rubio's 1 star. Every time I eat here, I react to gluten (even though I order GF items). The problem is that everything is cross-contaminated here, *especially* their chips.

    2 starsAugust 02, 2012

3964 Harney St, San Diego, CA 92110

My review is for the Oceanside location, which I've been to several times. The waitress was completely clueless as to gluten. And b/c the food is all "sustainable", you end up with farmed fish (gross) and fake eel (so what exactly is in it?). It all looks and tastes good, yes. But it's entirely too difficult to navigate, trying to eat GF.

  • Five Guys

    1 starsAugust 02, 2012

40426 Winchester Rd., Temecula, CA 92591

I was not at all impressed. After I ate my lunch here, I walked out wishing I'd eaten elsewhere. If you have to eat here b/c you're with a group who insists on going here... you'll be happy to have something safe to eat... but beyond that, it's just not satisfying.

  • Deanna's Gluten Free

    2 starsAugust 02, 2012

    2250 S Escondido Blvd, Escondido, CA 92025

It's GF. It's safe to eat. But that's all I've got to say about it for a positive review. The bread that I've had if theirs (which has been only their dairy-free offerings) have been bland and boring. Maybe their dairy-full breads are better tasting?

  • P.F. Chang's

    5 starsAugust 02, 2012

The Promenade, 40762 Winchester Rd. Suite #400, Temecula, CA 92591

Excellent GF menu (with almost all GF entrees being dairy-free as well). The food is delicious - you would never know it was GF! And the restaurant is well-trained at giving you a safe plate of food. This is my go-to restaurant for GF.

  • Jimbo's...Naturally

They definitely have whatever you're looking for. But this store is VERY pricey.

  • Pizza Port

    3 starsAugust 02, 2012

571 Carlsbad Village Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92008

Yay - they have GF pizza. I didn't react to it either - yay! But it did not taste good at all, and I was bummed "I paid THAT MUCH for it, and it didn't even taste good." I don't want to give it 1 star, b/c yay for having a solid offering of GF pizza... but I will NOT be going back. Paradise Pizza is a way better choice.

  • Souplantation

    3 starsAugust 02, 2012

1860 Marron Road, Carlsbad, CA 92008

Souplantation is a great place to eat for healthy options! BUT if you're GF you're navigating it blindly. Their salad bar has high cross contamination possibility. And their "fun" foods (after the salad bar) are not labeled to know if things are safe to eat (GF).

  • Olive Garden

    1 starsAugust 02, 2012

Yay, glad they have some GF options. But should an Italian restaurant really serve *microwaved* GF pasta?! That just grosses me out. :-( But yay for at least some GF options, if you're stuck having to eat here. I'm still giving only 1 star (for their lack of GF wonderfulness) b/c it's just depressing to eat here. I went with a large group who had pre-ordered appetizers. None of them were safe for me, and the servers were WAY too busy to even give me the time of day (plus the kitchen was taking FOREVER - so even if I would've made a big deal of it, my friends would've been done by the time I'd gotten my food).

  • Outback Steakhouse

    3 starsAugust 02, 2012

2485 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92054

They have a decently good GF menu. But your food is only as good as your server... and that's where I've had some bad experience. A waitress didn't properly communicate with the chef, she noticed her mistake as she brought us our food, but didn't point it out to us until we'd already eaten some of it. :-(

  • Sprouts

    4 starsAugust 02, 2012

471 College Blvd, Oceanside, CA 92057

It's nice to have a grocery store that carries GF foods. Since Henry's switched to Sprouts, they've replaced some of their good GF offerings with corn replacements. (If you're not corn-free, this probably doesn't matter to you.) For example, they got rid of Takinyada pasta (the BEST GF pasta), and replaced it with a corn/quinoa brand. It's been gradual, but most of my fav GF brands have been replaced with corn-filled brands. Now I have to shop at Frazier Farms or Jimbo's.
