This is one of the best GF pizza's as well as one of the most reasonably priced in the bay area. The Menu also has other GF menu items that are very good. If only they would add some pasta dishes. I would love to be able to have one or two of their great sauces. July 2013-I must update my review because recently we had a very poor experience at Melos. The GF crust had clearly changed and came to the table burned. The kitchen was slow and backed up on non-pizza menu items. One dish came 45 minutes after the first dish arrived. There has clearly been some recent negative changes there and I hope the restaurant is able to turn it around, as we have enjoyed Melos for 26 years. What a shame!

While visiting from California, where gluten free goodies and restaurants abound, I was having a bit of trouble finding a restaurant out in rural LA. I called in the afternoon and the hostess made several trips to the kitchen to speak with the chef. Later at dinner, our waiter also made several trips to speak with the chef, who then modified my entree to make it GF. I had a very tasty seafood chile relleno dinner. Good prices, very friendly and helpful staff, and nice tex-mex food. No GF menu and tortilla chips are not cooked in dedicated oil.

It's really great to go here if you are GF and others in your party are not. The fries are just great and it is so unusual to be able to have French fries in a restaurant that I almost go there just for that. You can have a bun, or not. Extensive selection of GF condiments and spreads. If only the milkshakes were GF it would be close to perfect for a GF burger place.

Whenever we are in the mood for Mexican and are in Berkeley we try to stop in here for lunch. The GF selections are clearly marked and the food is always great. A bit noisy and sometimes hard to find a table if you have a large group but well worth going anyway.

They will make any of the Mac dishes gluten free so there are a lot of choices and they are very good -I have been several times and the pasta has been a bit different each time, but well cooked and the cheese sauces I have tried have been very tasty. Unfortunately,I did get sick after one visit, so a bit more attention to cross contamination is warranted. Side dishes, especially the carrots, are quite nice also.

The restaurant is very accommodating and will work to modify many of its traditional dishes to GF versions. I thought the pizza was average for GF and the GF ravioli is good but very over priced as it doesn't come with anything else, not even a small dinner salad.
