Let your hostess and waitress know you are gluten free. They will bring you an iPad which will generate their allergen menu. Server was knowledgeable and I saw on the receipt that she put an allergy alert in with the order several times. Fries have a dedicated fryer so no CC but they will still have to make you a separate batch because the seasoning they put on after is not GF. With that being said, this is a chain and they use a lot of preservatives and not wholesome ingredients which make me feel crappy so I won't be going back (we only went because we had a gift card). If that stuff doesn't bother, they do handle gluten free well it seems.

Ask the hostess for a gluten free menu. Lots of food options. Love their gluten free bun or you can go bunless. Servers are knowledgeable but even if you don't trust them you can build your own burger and mention that you are celiac on the sheet you fill out so the kitchen knows. Fries are not gluten free but I've gotten a salad (which is really good) and coleslaw instead. This is one of the few places I feel safe at FWIW.

It has a good selection but keep in mind this is a gluten-free store NOT a health food store. You will finds lots of sugar and carbs. Which is fine, just don't fool yourself. It's great if you need to quickly pick up a pizza or treat yourself to a cupcake but other than that it is RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Instead of making the time to drive out here, just use Vitacost or Amazon to buy the same gluten free supplies for half the cost. Also, most of their baked goods contain dairy, eggs and/or soy so you're better off going to Gluuteny if you have other allergies--I think their desserts are better anyways.

A dedicated GF bakery inside Oxbow Public Market. Has everything your celiac heart could desire. I had an amazing black and white cookie and took home a french baguette to serve with dinner. Very good!

Very good ice cream. Just ask which flavors are GF and they will look it up. Obviously something Ike cookie dough is not. They do not use any artificial ingredients.

  • Pica Pica Maize Kitchen

It's 100% gluten free and 100% delicious. Everyone loved it. Try their fresh juice. It's located inside the Oxbow Public Market which has tons of gluten free options. Save some room for Pica Pica.

They have a binder that lists which yogurt is gluten free, just ask. Lots of options. The fruit toppings are safe but those are set up like a buffet so if you are worried about cross contamination stick with just yogurt. It was good and the employee was friendly and helpful.

No GF menu but staff was knowledgeable. Lots of options. I asked about chips and guacamole and he said they were safe. Food was very good and fresh.

They were out of GF crusts which was disappointing. They have a GF menu and a lot of options.

Unfortunately they ran out of gluten free crust and they don't have many other options. They were able to make me a chicken salad. It was ok but I went there for pizza. I'd suggest calling ahead and making sure they have it.

  • Verde Mexican Kitchen & Cantina

Menu is clearly labeled with GF options (there are lots). Server was knowledgeable. Everything is made fresh to order. They use quality ingredients AND it was delicious!

Now called Etai's. Good, fresh GF options. Quick knowledgeable service for how busy it was. Had a sandwich and salad. I'm sensitive and didn't get sick.

There is not a ton of gluten free options but definitely enough and had exactly what I was looking for. Most (but not all) of your options are from the raw bar which is what I wanted. I got oysters and the steamed combo and it was great! Server was knowledgeable and even asked if the corn that came with the platteer was ok for me. They also have gluten free hard cider. The non Gfree diners I was with also loved it and really enjoyed their meals. This is totally worth going out of your way for!

  • Chickie's & Pete's

    4 starsAugust 07, 2013

2831 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401

Chickie's and Pete's has a gluten free menu and server was knowledgeable. I had crab fries and shrimp and did not get sick. We sat inside so I cannot speak for their outside boardwalk walk up stand but if you sit in the restaurant and speak with a server you should be fine. Apparently all their locations have a dedicated fryer for their crab fries.

  • Dock's Oyster House

    4 starsAugust 07, 2013

2405 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401

I'm only giving 4 because there was no gluten free menu and I like to visually see my options. But the server was knowledgeable, I didnt get sick and the food was delicious. Expensive but we were on vacation. The server said they get gf requests all the time and there is a gluten allergy button in their computer that alerts the kitchen. Obviously oysters (which were delicious) and other raw seafood are naturally gf. Then I inquired about a few other menu options and he told me which ones could be made or modified gluten free and it was no big deal because everything is made fresh to order. I got the beet salad and grilled shrimp and it was delicious and I didnt get sick.

1 Atlantic Ocean, Atlantic City, NJ 08401

I'm only giving this 4 stars because there is no official gf menu you can look at and I'm a visual person. With that being said the server went back to the kitchen to find out what could be modified gluten free. There were lots of options and she said they take food allergies very seriously which I believe because I did not get sick. We shared a salad, lobster fried rice, scallops, sorbet trio and each got a martini. It was $100 but we were on vacation and it was good. Food was slow but a. That seems like the norm for atlantic city and b. I'm ok with waiting if they are making sure I don't get sick. All in all I highly recommend it for a celiac looking to have a delicious worry free meal.

  • Trader Joe's

    5 starsMay 20, 2013

6343 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206

We don't live close but we make the drive. Prices are fantastic for the quality. Besides a decent selection of gluten free products (no vague or sketchy labeling) nothing from their private label is GMO or from China so that's totally worth it for me. Too bad PA doesn't let them sell two buck chuck.

Fantastic. Staff is super nice and if you say you have an allergy they alert the kitchen immediately. I always leave a tip to let them know I appreciate it. I'm always very impressed with 5 Guys. Unfortunately I always stuff my face with fat and calories or else I would go more often!

My gluten free mussels came out with a piece of bread on top. I clearly said I would be ordering gluten free, she saw my gf menu and wrote it down so this completely irritated me (being a former server myself). Food was unimpressive, service was bad. Won't be going back.

  • Juniper Grill

Ask for a gluten free menu. Got the salsa trio and fish tacos with no sour cream. Delicious! Best meal I've had out in a while. My husband also enjoyed his food. I didn't get sick and I love the open kitchen. Nice ambience too! I wish we lived out this way because we would go here a lot.

They are awesome. Just say no bun because you have an allergy and they let the whole kitchen know (and they cook it out in the hidden kitchen). I like to make a hamburger salad but one time I did get it to go and put it on a gf bun at home. I'd eat there everyday if it didnt clog my arteries and make me fat but it's one of my favorite quick and easy gf calorie splurges.

  • Little E's Pizzeria

    5 starsOctober 10, 2012

Pricy but so worth it. I don't get pizza often but when I do I'm willing to pay more for the piece of mind. Their gf subs are so good too! And their gluten free beer selection is the best i've seen. They are also willing to work with dairy allergies...staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

  • Sunset Cafe

I'll give them 4 stars because they do an amazing job at being gluten free but I wish they made it clearer what is dairy-free. Still, I have a few staple meals there that have never disappointed and the atmosphere is great. It is our date night go to.

Just explain you have a gluten allergy and ask them to change their gloves. They always gladly do. Get a rice bowl because the only thing with gluten are the burritos themselves though I also steer clear of the lettuce since they use their hands for that. I also have a dairy allergy so I stay away from the sour cream and cheese. Sometimes when it is busy, a stray piece of cheese gets in the guacamole but I try to go when it's less busy anyway.
