The GF menu is actually a "Gluten Friendly" menu, which should've been my first concern. My daughter had Tri tip, baked potato and green salad with gf dressing (cilantro garlic and lime) and was throwing up by the time we got home. To their credit, they do say that they can't guarantee that orders won't come in contact with gluten. I had hoped that by explaining that my kids have celiac and to please be careful, that an effort would've at least been made.

Cathy and RaeAnn are very knowledgeable about GF safety and always have several gf options for customers. Their hotdogs are gf and RaeAnn makes the most amazing gf breads and desserts.

Unless you eat sushi, I do not recommend for people with celiac (the sushi is safe though). They marinate the meat ahead of time in soy sauce, so that excludes the bento box options and anything made on the hibachi.

After my celiac kids got violently ill the last two times we ate here, I complained via the online Pei Wei site. Customer service was outstanding and they sent us 4 free meal gift cards to use and reassured me they have reviewed gf safety guidelines, etc. so we tried it again. I was told that they do not have separate utensils or woks for GF. They put oil in the wok and heat it to a very high temperature and call it good. Folks, please note that gluten is a protein and it doesn't "burn off" like they describe. I do NOT recommend this for anyone with celiac, it is simply not safe.

My kids have had no issues eating here. Waitstaff and servers are very knowledgeable about gluten.
