The new gluten-free bun is pretty good. More bun than you need for 1/4 lb. burger, but it's used for the 1/2 lb. burger too. (The Udi's bun comes from an individually wrapped cellophane package. They open it to assemble your burger.)

People with me eating the regular crust pizza raved about how good it is. The gluten-free pizza I ordered was terrible. It's by far the worst GF pizza I've ever tried. The crust dissolved into a gritty grainy mush in my mouth—I stopped eating it. Despite explaining that I didn't care for the pizza, the waitress and my table mates encouraged me to take the pizza home, for someone else to eat. (It was expensive, after all.) Later that night and the next day 2 other people tried one bite and spit it out into the garbage. It was really awful. If you are eating GF and end up here with friends able to eat the amazing regular crust pizza, stick with the salad. Those are good. You're going to be jealous watching them eat that regular pizza though.

No dining room, just a counter and 4 stools. Pizza is very tasty though! Drink options are limited--canned soda & bottled drinks.

10" Pizza, salad & gelato--all delicious. For the pizza, you have the option to choose a variety of sauces and cheeses and toppings. Not all the salad dressings are gluten-free, so ask. Gelato flavor choices change daily.

Most of the menu is gluten-free, though it is not marked. The marinades and spices are safe. Rely on the waitstaff for guidance. This is Cuban food done very well. I had a delicious fried chicken dish.

My husband and I both ordered Maudeen's Center Cut Filet and it was divine. Best steak I've had in ages! The chef came to the table to let me know what I could safely order and he told me that they're working on a gluten-free menu, but it's not ready yet. (As of December 1, 2012) I was treated very well there by the staff and chef, even though it was a busy Saturday night. They were very considerate and accommodating of my needs. The chef seemed to understand about cross-contamination and let me know that he would fix my food on a separate grill. Next time I'm in San Antonio visiting the Riverwalk, I'd love to go back and have dinner here again! www.saltgrass.com

I had my birthday dinner here at the conclusion of my very first month of gluten-free eating. The dedicated gluten-free menu had lots of options, including one dessert, and had clear instructions for the modifications I would need to ask for, though my server seemed to already be quite aware of them. This was the most delicious and flavorful, hassle and anxiety free dinner I've had all month! What a treat! My server even put a candle on my dessert for my birthday. My husband is able to enjoy any menu offerings, and he also enjoyed his dinner. Eating here was a wonderful, pleasurable experience!
