Omg, this place totally changed my attitude toward GF restaurant eating in SF. Until I found Proposition Chicken, my strict celiac diet had me sweating at the very thought of trying out a new restaurant, and I thought I'd just never be able to eat anything really delicious ever again. What a horrible way to live! Thankfully, those days are gone. Proposition Chicken has a dedicated GF fryer and their GF buns are awesome and fresh out of the oven. The GF buns are so good that, recently, when there was a mix up in our takeout order, my seven year old daughter was heartbroken that her sandwich came on a wheat bun (she is not celiac)! And...GF fried chicken sandwiches...need I say more??? There's only a few options on the menu but they are masters of the fried chicken craft. An added bonus is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of turnover with the employees, and the friendly counter people almost always remember the particulars about my standard order, so it's nice to see a familiar face and not feel like I'm being fussy. Plus , the lack of turnover indicates that the owner treats his employees well and pays them a fair wage, which is important to me.

This place is great! I've been dying for some gluten free falafel and now I get to have it right smack in the middle of Market Street at age great price with tons of veggies and a banana shake :) Super friendly service and fast. Free samples.

I have a feeling this is going to be my new favorite sushi place. Recently I was heartbroken to find out that the one thing I felt safe eating at restaraunts--sushi--was not as celiac safe as I'd thought it was...which at threats explained the moderate skin problems I've still been having. Waitresses were happy to double-check with the cook on the gluten-free status of several dishes to soothe my paranoid mind.We had chicken janitors, a California roll, miso soup, and a veg roll with sweet potato. Everything was delicious, and the service was friendly. Open till midnight on weekends...go late to avoid the crowds.

After reading the mixed reviews, I decided to take a chance on this place since I haven't had thai food in forever. Big mistake. The first waitress had no idea about what gluten free meant. I asked if we could talk to someone who had worked there longer, but that second person was clueless as well. I finally ordered the chicken rice noodle soup against my better judgement. Make sure you tell them no soy sauce and don't let them steer you toward the egg noodles. The soup looked plain enough, and tasted fine although bland which I guess is to be expected. I'm just praying I don't end up scratching my face off for the next week.
