    7746 N Hwy 1, Little River, CA 95456

Convenience store (small) off of the highway. Gluten free cookies and crackers for sale. Also, the salads at the deli are marked GF if they are. Quick stop for picnic stuff.

163 Boatyard Dr, Fort Bragg, CA 95437

The owner is very nice and chatty and told me NOT to order any sandwiches if I had celiac disease. She said the clam chowder was safe. It was good chowder.

GF bread - over 90% of items are GF naturally. Very healthy, very pricy. Some things are weird. Some things are wonderful. Some are weird and wonderful. Open for breakfast and dinner only.

I was surprised to find so many things to eat after dropping in on a whim just to check and see if they could feed me. The menu has a GF symbol next to the gluten free items. They have GF bread and will make the pepitos (little sandwiches) on GF bread. Soup! Sandwiches! Dessert! If you aren't familiar with Spanish cuisine, you may find it strange. Also, extra $ for the GF rolls. I had a bowl of gazpacho and a pepito and had to bring my dessert home because I was too full. Counter service. Outdoor patio.

I had a beet salad and GF penne with bolognese. It was delicious and the serving of pasta was so large I got two meals out of it.

No gluten free menu but the staff is well trained. Tell them what you need and your server will tell you the options. Each dish is made when ordered. No beef or pork dishes because they are marinated But there are a LOT of veggie, chicken and fish options. They have gluten free tamari and rice noodles available. My food was fabulous - I had Kung Pao chicken and garlic green beans.

AKA Lydia's Organics - Gluten free vegan facility, I believe they use wheat grass in some smoothies but I've heard wheat grass is gluten free. Smoothies are good, soups are good, some desserts are good. Honestly though a lot of the food is weird. I will say this, you feel GREAT after eating there. However, I'm a person who loves food and I have to give this place an asterisk* *Good for vegan/raw but not my favorite spot for texture and flavor. Will I go back? Yes.

  • Pasta Pomodoro

    3 starsNovember 07, 2013

32216 Dyer Street, Union City, CA 94587

Large GF menu with rice penne as a sub for regular pasta. The server assured me they even use separate utensils. Giving it three stars because I ordered the signature dish, pasta pomodoro, and to me it tasted like Campbell's cream of tomato soup on pasta. The minestrone was good, not great. Also, even after having the GF discussions he went into the regular "Did we want to split the bruschetta as an appetizer" spiel. Uh, no. I will return and try something else next time. My girlfriend likes the salmon salad but 'sustainably raised' sounded like farmed salmon to me and I choose not to eat Frankenfish. Note: This is a chain so there are other locations and the web site does not reflect the new GF options.

I've eaten here several times and never had a reaction. It's a deli sandwich on Udi's. You can get excited about that or not. I noticed one review didn't like the mayo, I always request "light on the goo" and getting over-mayoed has never been a problem for me. (Erik's uses a mustard/mayo combo they call goo) I have never tried the gf soups.

  • Betty Burgers

    3 starsNovember 05, 2013

505 Seabright Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95062

My burger was good, the GF bun was indistinguishable from how I remember regular buns. Fries ARE NOT safe. I suggested they get some GF beer and the counter person was very receptive to it. I only gave it three stars because there are no fries or fry substitutes, like chips.

  • Cafe Aquatica

    3 starsSeptember 22, 2013

A place to grab a coffee and a house made gf muffin. They don't open until 8:00 am which seems late for my morning cup o' joe. They told me to get there early because they frequently sell out of the gf ones. However, I arrived at opening and the gf muffins were still in the oven. Had day old, two flavors, both good. I don't think there is anything for celiacs on the lunch menu but I didn't ask.

  • Harvest Market

    5 starsSeptember 07, 2013

California 1, Fort Bragg, CA 95437

Grocery store. Owner is celiac so there are TONS of gf options. There is also a location in Fort Bragg and apparently it's larger and even has Gf bakery items. Next time I'm in town I will review the other store.

  • Mendo Burgers

    3 starsSeptember 07, 2013

10483 Lansing Street, Mendocino, CA 95460

They don't fry anything but fries. Safe prep for GF burgers. It was not clear to me if they ran out of GF buns or if they only serve them on lettuce. If you want a bun, Harvest Market at Mendoza's is a block away. Bring your own!

  • Frankies

You can get GF pizza or a GF falafel platter and they are also an ice cream shop.

  • Cultured Affair Cafe

    4 starsSeptember 07, 2013

45104 Main Street, Mendocino, CA 95460

A soup and sandwich shop where you can get GF sandwiches. Soups change so ask if they are safe. Counter person volunteered that they use separate space/utensils to prevent cross contamination.

  • Mendocino Cafe

    2 starsSeptember 07, 2013

10451 Lansing Street, Mendocino, CA 95460

There were only FOUR items marked gluten free here. 1) nachos 2) guacamole 3) salad 4) a curry bowl if you substituted ginger chili broth for the curry. None of the wait staff seemed knowledgable. I'm suggesting it in case anyone may be craving nachos or a salad.

If I could give this place six stars, I would. They have lovely gluten free rolls that reminded me of popovers. They will put GF croutons (house made ) in your salad. They only use GF tamari if they use soy sauce. I didn't order a salad because I knew I could have bread and dessert. Local fish, local veggies. My entree was cooked perfectly (halibut) and the accompanying ratatouille was to die for. Very small venue behind a gas/grocery on highway 1 so don't plan a big party there. But GO! You won't be disappointed.

  • KIN

    4 starsAugust 28, 2013

740 McClelland Drive, Windsor, CA 95492

The salads are labeled GF. No entrees were but waitstaff was knowledgeable about which ones could be made GF. The GF pizza crust was unbelievable! In fact, I waited to make sure I was feeling fine the next day before writing this review. I asked three different employees if they were sure it was GF. No preformed shells - artisan style and it was like bread! Airy with bubbles. Only complaint is that the interesting pizzas have an Alfredo sauce which is NOT gluten free.

  • Alpine Pantry

    3 starsJuly 06, 2013

324 West Lake Street, McCall, ID 83638

GF sandwiches available. It's also a market that sells lots of GF products. I skipped the gf toast at brunch because it's toasted with the regular bread. Sometimes there are gf baked goods from the local bakery but check to see how fresh they are before you decide to purchase. They used to have GF Fridays when the specials are GF. I'm not sure if they still do this.

  • The Sushi Bar

    5 starsJuly 06, 2013

414 Railroad Avenue, McCall, ID 83638

Knowledgable staff, GF soy sauce (Bragg's) and GF beer. They can make almost everything GF (unless it has something fried or marinated). Only use sustainable fish and it's a green business if that's important to you. Will sub real crab for the fake stuff for $3. Very fresh, delicious sushi. I make a point of eating here whenever I'm in town.

  • Hurley's Restaurant & Bar

Big GF menu plus a Zagat rating BUT fries are on the GF menu and the fryer isn't a dedicated one. I canceled my order when i found out. Kudos to staff for double checking for me. I had soup, Niçoise salad and their GF chocolate almond torte. Soup was fabulous but the rest was just so-so. The wait staff is over the top as far as attentiveness goes. If I'm honest, it was almost too much service. I think I couldn't finish a sentence without interrupting to thank someone for topping off my water or tea, or using the correct grind of pepper to suit my tastes, or removing a dirty utensil etc. Maybe it was the other reviews or the Zagat stickers but I expected a better meal than I experienced. That's why I couldn't give it 5 stars.

No gluten free menu but when I asked about GF the person at the counter immediately washed his hands and changed gloves. You cannot eat the chips here. You are pretty much limited to soft tacos. The carnitas was tasty and so was my margarita but very few options available. I just can't embrace a Mexican place where I can't eat chips and salsa.

The gluten free menu is paper and on the counter. Lots of items to choose from! The woman who helped me was super helpful too. Best part? I got to have a chili relleno, something I've really missed.

I think you should remove this place from your app. Tried to eat there last week and the two employees I spoke with had no idea what I was talking about and told me they had nothing. Figuring the B team might have been on duty I wrote a friendly email to them asking for clarification. A week has gone by with no response whatsoever.

Miglet's is my happy place. Their desserts are fantastic and they have a lot of hard to find GF groceries available.

A good place to get a sandwich WITH fries! My only complaint is that the food is too heavy for my tastes. But...fries! Sweet potato or regular.

  • Selland's Market-Cafe

    5 starsFebruary 25, 2013

This is kind of like an upscale deli. They also cater. They have an extensive wine bar too but no table service. The GF menu doesn't list everything but the regular paper menu has GF options labeled. The food is excellent. They had two GF dessert items but I was too full from dinner to try them. You pick the size of your side dishes since it's deli style. I have never eaten anything from this place that wasn't delicious.

  • Pasta Moon

    5 starsFebruary 25, 2013

315 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

No GF menu per se but the staff works with you. They have two types of GF pasta. The menu is seasonal and the veggies are from local farms. I've eaten there twice and both meals (soup, entrée, dessert) were outstanding. Last time I had one of their specials, it was pasta with a lemon sauce and fresh Dungeness crab and it was quite possibly the best pasta dish I have ever had.

  • Johnny's Harborside

    5 starsJanuary 26, 2013

Great GF menu (including almost every dessert). One owner is a celiac so they totally get what's needed safety wise, Great fresh fish - I think you can even get a burger on a GF bun. I wish the soups were GF but there are so many other food options I feel guilty complaining.

  • Casbah Cafe

    5 starsJanuary 26, 2013

    1770 1st St, Livermore, CA 94550

Love this place - the owner is knowledgable and if your waitperson isn't, ask for the boss. The food is good! I've tried several things and I have liked them all. You can pretty much eat or adapt every item except for those using phyllo. They bring you cucumbers instead of pita with hummus. It's not the speediest place but it is fresh and delicious and SUPER safe.

First time I've had a basket of bread since my diagnosis ten years ago. The GF menu was TWO whole pages! My husband and I split the rolotinis and the veggie lasagna and they were outstanding. The sauce was so fresh! I believe they use organic and non-GMO foods too. We took raviolis home and they were good too. I am searching for an excuse to get back to the area just so I can eat there again. Only complaint is that it was a bit noisy. Totally worth it though.
