They had an extensive GF menu with appetizers (a rareity). The server was knowlegable and answered all our detailed questions about fryers and preperation. They took really good care of us and anticipated oir needs.

First enchiladas I've eaten that I didn't have to make in 3 years. They were awesome. Great nachos and salsa, too.

All of the meat, sauce, and sides, including okra, are gluten free. It is easier to name the things I can't eat: desserts, rolls, buns, croutons. I know when they make sandwiches the bread is sometimes laid on the cutting board and they are always nice and accommodate when I ask them to change knives and cutting boards. The barbeque and sauce are great and the staff always makes me feel welcome, even though I have the unusual request.

My husband and I met friends here for lunch. It was really busy, but the waiter was great. When I told him I was gluten free and asked about options, he went to grab a manager who was more knowledgeable. She had just talked to another table about the gluten free options. The waiter listened so he could learn what the options were, too. They have gluten free buns from Local Oven to sub on all the burgers and sandwiches, but I opted for the steak salad. It was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the vinaigrette had a good flavor.

I live out in the suburbs, but my stylist is near here, so when I get my hair done, I head here for lunch. The GF Chicken Fried Steak is great. I almost always get the Johnny Rooster: Olive oil-fried chicken with gluten-free pancakes stuffed with bacon and roasted jalapeƱo with maple syrup. I have lived in Texas all of my life. Why is it only now, at 35, that I discover putting jalapenos in pancakes? Two pieces of chicken and 2 big pancakes. I always ask to have half boxed up to take with me so I can have it for dinner or breakfast the next day. I've sent several people their way, but I'm not sharing my leftovers with anyone.

I don't like that I had to go in to ask about GF options. They don't have the GF menu on the web site, but were happy to print one out for me. The options are limited, but I almost always had the fajitas or the fajita salad before I went GF anyway. My son likes the nachos, even though he'd rather go to a burger place. The chips and salsa are safe. I grab lunch to go about once a week and it is now one of our go to places when no one wants to cook. I think some of the wait staff have figured out that my tip size is directly related to how much salsa they give me on to go orders.

I have eaten here a dozen times and they have decent gluten free pasta. I think its better in the restaurant, especially in dishes where cheese is put on top and the pasta is put under the broiler to melt it. That extra step seems to improve the texture of the pasta. After I realized that, I started doing it at home, too. I have had one bad experience. In celebration of Friday, I called in an order of Create Your Own Pasta. I ate a good portion of it while driving back to work. Once I parked, I saw that there was a regular spaghetti noodles snaked through the bottom of the bowl. Of course, I was horrified and called the manager. He sounded mortified. He said he would reeducate the chef. He also talked me into coming back after work. They refunded all of my money (including tip) and remade my pasta. He said they were also reviewing all the gluten free procedures with all of the staff. I haven't had any issues since, but I feel more comfortable going in to eat. I have had experiences where I didn't get glutened, but still chose not to go back because of the attitude of the staff when asked about gluten free options. I continued to eat here because of the way the management reacted and responded when there was an issue. The manager knew that it was a big deal.

Tu Lu's is wonderful. I stop in anytime I'm in the area. It's a busy area, but they have a reserved 10 minute space right in front of the store. I've never had anything that wasn't wonderful. I tried the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie a few weekends ago and it was beautiful. My son loves the donuts. My daughter always gets a chocolate cupcake. On the last trip there were cookies that were very much like the chocolate mint cookies sold by little girls every year, but way better because they didn't make me ill.

We have eaten here a lot. They opened just after my son was diagnosed and went gluten free and they were one of two restaurants that had safe french fries. They have since added gluten free buns. I have now had to go gluten free, too. We have always felt safe eating here and have never had any issues. The manager on duty always comes to check on us (they are really good about checking on everyone in the dining room).
