Solid food and very careful to avoid cc. I had a salad with grilled salmon, but would try one of the Italian dishes next time.

So delicious! I love the beef and the catfish. I ordered a variety with non-celiac friends. The catfish came with mac and cheese. The mac had spilled over the side of the portion dish and was touching the catfish. The server apologized and brought a new piece of fish for me. I felt fine after this meal. I hope they explore a gf option to replace the mac and cheese. It's not that hard to do.

  • Wok in the Park

Not quite authentic renditions of a variety of Asian cuisines. Definitely try the Singapore noodles. Very conscientious. No problems with cc.

The miso braised pork is fantastic. Flatbread pizza was yummy too. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

The first good gf beer I've tried. Love the Pyro!

  • Stripburger

    4 starsMay 05, 2015

3200 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109

The burger was a bit overdone and the bun a little dry. The fries were delish! I'm quite sensitive to gluten, and had no reaction. Happy to find someplace I could eat in Vegas.

  • Pacific Catch

They have a small gf menu. I've had no problems with cross contamination, and I'm quite sensitive. Their food is good but not great compared with so many other restaurant choices in SF.

  • Melinda's Gluten-Free

Amazing! Bacon cheddar rolls, frosted donuts, and lemon cupcakes were all divine.

  • Lula's Chocolates

  • Grease Box

    4 starsFebruary 02, 2015

942 Stanford Avenue, Oakland, CA 94608

All gluten free! Too bad this restaurant isn't that great. The fried chicken is terrible, waffles just ok, and the service is aloof. But there's no where else in town I can get a safe burger. Theirs are juicy and delicious, and the buns hold up. Yum, the burgers alone will keep me coming back. I wish they would offer to sub a salad for the greasy home fries.

I have to change my review after getting glutened at this restaurant. In the past, the staff had seemed poorly trained about gluten, but I never got sick on previous visits. I guess I just got lucky before. I will not be back.

  • The Misfit Restaurant + Bar

    4 starsDecember 28, 2014

225 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90401

Lovely atmosphere, knowledgable servers. I tried to order the chile burger, but the chiles are inexplicably prepared with gluten. The misfit cheeseburger was divine. They offer complimentary house made cookies to all the regular folks. It would be nice if they had gf cookies for us too.

  • Rice

    4 starsDecember 28, 2014

820 Manhattan Avenue, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

All items gluten free. Their use of sauces is too much for me, but it was nice to be able to eat sushi rolls and tempura for a change. I would eat here regularly if I lived in town.

As a celiac, I had difficulty finding a Thai restaurant that wouldn't make me sick. Let your server know about your sensitivity to gluten and ask to talk to Eric if unsure. He was very helpful and friendly. Be aware, they do serve gluten as a meat substitute. I ask for my food with no gluten and no soy sauce. Have eaten there twice with no problems. Updated 9/11/2014: I've been back a dozen times times now. The staff wants to be really helpful, but they will say things are gluten free when they're not. I've gotten sick from both chicken and duck that had the skin on. Likely marinated in soy sauce. I went back to my original order of pad Thai, pork green curry, and shrimp and scallop basil. No problems when I stick to those dishes.

  • Oceano at the Peppermill

    5 starsSeptember 04, 2014

    2707 S Virginia St, Reno, NV 89502

I ate sushi here once and had no problems. I'm a very sensitive celiac. I recommend going at a time when they're not super busy, and order a la carte rather than the all-you-can-eat menu. I spoke to the sushi chef personally, and ordered only sashimi and nigiri. I got the charred tuna - they use a blowtorch rather than a grill so no cross-contamination there. They will bring out tamari on request.

  • Kerry House Raj Indian Cuisine

    5 starsMarch 23, 2014

4086 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611

This is my favorite hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant. They deliver to my house for no charge! Great taste and value, and they take your questions about gluten seriously. Aside from the breads, nearly the whole menu is gluten free. The papadam is 98% gluten free, so stay away from that if you're celiac. I have eaten their food at least 15 times and never gotten sick.

  • Tay Ho Restaurant

    1 starsOctober 15, 2013

    344 12th St # B, Oakland, CA 94607

How disappointing. Their menu states at the bottom of each page that 90% of the menu is gluten free, and that you should alert your server if you have a food allergy. Once I found a server who understood English and the word gluten, she told me there were a few items I could order - just pho and vermicelli. She said the combo vermicelli without egg rolls would be gluten free. I got sick anyway. I had such high hopes for a new place I could eat in Oakland.

  • Spice Monkey

    2 starsJuly 25, 2013

1628 Webster St, Oakland, CA 94612

They do gf only as a gimmick. They have a tiny gf menu, and carelessly list mussels and fries on there, though they do not have a dedicated fryer. I ended up with very overpriced soup and salad. I'm not going back.

  • French Meadow Cafe

Incredible fries made in their dedicated fryer. Love!

  • Pizza Luce

    4 starsJuly 19, 2013

    11 E Superior St, Duluth, MN 55802

Lots of "gf on request" options on the menu. Separate gf food prep area. The pizza crust is crispy on the bottom, but the top is moist and slightly grainy. Keep working on the recipe, Luce, you've almost got it perfect!

  • Duluth Grill

    5 starsJuly 19, 2013

    118 S 27th Ave W, Duluth, MN 55806

A well run business with knowledgable staff and extensive gf options. And THE best dessert I've had since my celiac diagnosis. A brownie sundae to blow your mind. They serve the same incredible gf brownie in the regular version of this dessert, so good that it couldn't be improved with gluten.

  • Chipotle

    1 starsJuly 19, 2013

    5608 W. Broadway Ave., Crystal, MN 55428

Chipotle is amazing for people with food allergies, and so delicious. Most locations bend over backward to prevent cc. At this location however, I have to watch my food the entire time to end up with a safe meal. The employees communicate poorly with customers and each other, and then the cashier gets annoyed that I don't trust in their training.

  • The Grand Tavern

    4 starsJune 22, 2013

3601 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA 94610

The food is a bit pricey for what you get, and the service lacks at times. But where else can I get a funnel cake or doughnuts? And the social skin fries rock. The chef here is celiac, and has created some fun foods to share with us.

  • Roam Artisan Burgers

    3 starsMay 06, 2013

1923 Fillmore St, San Francisco, CA 94115

I hate to give a mediocre rating since I haven't eaten here. I called to find out about cross contamination, and I was told they only have one grill where they make the burgers and grill the buns. :( however, they do have a dedicated fryer, and were able to answer my questions on the phone, so I appreciate that. Hopefully they will expand and put in a second grill for to accommodate us celiacs.

The staff was friendly and helpful, so I ordered a taco. Then my husband spotted the cooks grilling meat where they had just grilled bread. Watch out for cross-contamination here!
