Really great coffee house with tons of board games - they specialize in desserts and sandwiches and are extremely attentive and careful in preparation of gluten free sandwiches using gf bread - have had no issues there after eating twice so far. A great fun place to go with a group of friends to play and while not a meal destination in itself, gluten unfriendlies need not feel left out. I'm clicking celiac friendly due to managements hyper awareness but encourage folks to speak clearly with management on arrival to judge their own comfort level. It's a small kitchen but they take great lengths to protect from cross contamination - my order took a long time but I didn't mind because I knew they took special care. Go roll some dice there - $5 cover (sometimes less) for table space and access to their ample game library !

Very conscious of gf needs, offer gf pastas (penne & spaghetti) and many menu entrees are gluten free; dined here with my celiac family many times with no issue. Also great piano music & a separate show floor - really fun for date nights

Basically like in & out - dedicated fryer for French fries and protein style burgers (no gf buns) carefully assembled with gloves if you make clear you require gluten free. Delicious!

15301 Ventura Boulevard P-22, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403

Simply the best - celiacs feel so safe with them. Make sure your plates are round if dining in, as that's a sign of GF food - If getting take out, confirm pink GF labels on all entrees. Say no to fortune cookies lol

Hands down the best GF and celiac friendly chain I've ever been to - unsurpassed in quality and efficiency - the best.

189 The Grove Drive Z80, Los Angeles, CA 90036-3154

Used to go here often until for a time they no longer offered GF pasta. Last I went they had corn pasta and chefs would often communicate with me directly which I appreciated but we still got sick - their managers called me with apologies and showered me with gift cards but I can't take the risk on my family's health until they get their standards in line. Good place though with great intentions - I've no doubt they will up their game in the future. Someone tell me when and ill come back.

  • Outback Steakhouse

    3 starsMarch 14, 2013

    146 S. Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91204

They try hard but young wait staff and poor kitchen communication can often lead to mistakes so if you're a celiac who can't abide crumbs in your salad make sure a manager personally oversees your order or try another chain. I think they try hard at outback but corporate has to train their staff better - too many teen servers who take shortcuts

I was shocked at how far this chain has come with GF - they now offer GF buns and have a dedicated fryer but be extra careful to always confirm this fact with a manager as young wait staff doesn't always comprehend the GF requirements

  • Osteria Mozza

    5 starsMarch 14, 2013

6602 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90038

I've eaten safely at Mozza numerous times, they have corn GF pasta and an amazing Menu -- very high end and delicious - celiacs feel safe the staff knows how to handle food prep with care

  • Hugo's

    5 starsMarch 14, 2013

8401 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

My favorite of the Hugo's locations - always stellar food and highly GF friendly - celiacs feel safe here! They are always looking to improve themselves - trying new breads and substitutions - if no GF pasta options are avail, try some of their Mac & cheese with potatoes -- you'll be amazed

  • Big Mama's and Papa's Pizzeria

    5 starsMarch 14, 2013

This location never let me down - celiac friendly and careful - plus good pizza of the old school / New York style - but cut in squares ;)

  • Hugo's

12851 Riverside Dr, North Hollywood, CA 91607

Huge fan and supporter of Hugo's one of the first and best GF friendly places around - for some reason i prefer the Santa Monica location but both are delicious and safe!!

  • Garlic Jim's

    2128 N. Glenoaks Blvd. #103, Burbank, CA 91504

The first chain I'd visited who were highly knowledgable and celiac friendly - you can feel safe with them but little tip, order pizza during less busy hours if possible to avoid too much kitchen activity at once... Keeps those small risks even smaller

They try which is great - but for those who are highly sensitive this is not the best chain as mistakes are frequent -

  • Big Mama's & Papa's Pizza

    4 starsMarch 14, 2013

5219 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA 91601

My favorite since they're one of the few GF places in my area to be careful of cross contamination and also deliver -- pizza is premade but delicious the perfect place for those who miss hometown style pizza shop slices.

  • Buca di Beppo

    2 starsMarch 14, 2013

1000 Universal Studios Blvd., Universal City, CA

I used to love buca they are a great family chain but since going GF I've had to beware as cross contamination is high risk and they Do not offer GF pasta at this time

  • Pam MacD's Gluten Free Markets

    3 starsMarch 14, 2013

3516 Magnolia Blvd, Burbank, CA 91505

Huge supporter of theirs but those with celiac beware -- you MUST read labels to ensure your product is not made in a facility that also processes wheat.

  • Trader Joe's
