Bit of a real foodist. Not a fan of GF "fake food"

The food is excellent, but I've gotten sick there.

Yummy and safe. Have eaten here twice with knowledgeable waiters. Local business.

The food IS great - if you're willing to wait for it. We sat down on a Monday night in a half-empty restaurant and didn't get our dinner served until 9pm. After 30 minutes, we asked for bread, which they had not brought to us. It's also pretty pricey, but the food, once we got it, was very tasty. I'll agree that the GF focaccia (which I also had to ask for) was pretty fantastic, if a bit cold in the middle.

This place has potential, but it isn't realized. It has a lot of new, clean equipment that looks shabby because the place is so cluttered; and the store and employees are unkempt. I don't think they really understand what GF means because they list the fries as GF but not the falafel - both are fried. I had the Döner salad. It's pretty good, though I have no idea what that meat is: they claim beef, who am I to argue? When I asked questions about the food and GF, they seemed puzzled, especially about cross-contamination. Overall, I think they need to clean the place up and train their staff.

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff is VERY helpful and really go out of their way to be helpful, but they really don't know what GF means and I had to explain it every time I ordered something. That got to be tedious. But again, VERY friendly helpful staff.

It's owned by parents of a gluten free child. They went out of their way to serve us and make our visit enjoyable, even though we have a toddler and they don't generally serve small children (<7). I had the caprese pasta - homemade pasta he makes with sundried tomato flour and organic eggs, ceviche that was divine, and an excellent Cabernet. It is pricey, portions are modest but not ridiculously tiny, and the atmosphere is lovely.

Portions are small. Food is tasty. Staff friendly. Children's play area inside was great. Live music. Drinks were meh.

Good pizza. I think the crust is the same as mellow mushroom. Flatbread style. Toppings were good. I had the Nat. Side caprese salad good and they had a GF beer that was ok. Best was that they have a separate prep area with separate toppings and are very knowledgeable about GF.

The coffee shop (didn't go to the restaurant): dirty, dirty bathroom. Blue bell ice cream, not GF, all kinds of pastry, none GF.

Great food. The fries are awesome and used to be GF but they started serving fish n chips..... The owner was working on a solution. Their homemade chips are GF - separate fryer (different temp than fries). The burger with the jalapeños is really good.

Ditto on the mandel hørnchen. Fantastic. The frittatas are good too.

I LOVED this place before I was GF. The one time I've eaten there since, I got sick, but that was in about 2010. Maybe I'll revisit and change my review.

Delicious. Excellent service.
137 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27601
The manager is GF. Just be aware that anything marked GF that is fried is in a shared fryer. Only reason I took away one star.
301 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27603
Delicious. Knowledgeable staff.

Yummmmmmy. I'll agree that the staff is rude and can't seem to bothered with questions.
4325 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612
I've eaten GF here once. It was around 2010 so maybe they're better now, but the best they could do was make me something in the back without soy sauce. It was dry, tasteless and expensive. Plus, they really didn't understand what GF meant.

I don't think it's fair to rate the whole restaurant based on their pizza. They sell frozen GF pizza in stores, and that's what you get in the restaurant. ******they have a separate prep area, separate GF ingredients and are VERY careful about cross-contamination******* If you don't like their pizza, don't eat it, but don't give one star to a restaurant that goes above and beyond to make sure you're SAFE. That said, the service is stellar, and the eggplant parm is beyond delicious. They have excellent GF focaccia, polenta, and WOW the mushroom appetizer. They had GF before it was "cool" and they work HARD to keep you safe. AND they have Saturday brunch.... you get a full menu with more than just a few boring items! This place deserves 6 stars.
