• Sunflower Restaurant

I am not sure why this place is in the app. There are 100 menu items. When I asked what was GF, they responded "pick one and I'll tell you." Where to begin?! Well that took a lot of back-and-forth. All dishes with soy sauce are NOT GF. For reals, that knocks about 99 items off the 100-item menu. The peanut sauce was soy sauce-free. The only thing I could eat were veggie spring rolls with that peanut sauce. I did not get sick.

    5401 FM 1626, Kyle, TX 78640

I usually get a breakfast plate. The potatoes are safe for me. The chips and corn tortillas are gluten-free also. Update: Have tried several other items on gf menu (flautas, pork chops, carne asada, chalupas), nothing has made me sick, and it is yummy! :)

  • Schlotzsky's

    1 starsJune 18, 2015

    19350 IH 35 South, Kyle, TX 78640

The Schlotzky's website has a gf and allergen list. They do offer Udi's bread at this location. However... The employees' ignorance scared the crap out of me. Multiple employees could not tell me if any sandwiches are gf. For example, I asked if the turkey lunchmeat was gf, and they replied "the only thing we have that's gf is the bread." Sooo.... I left. Better safe than sorry. Will try another location sometime.

  • Tarka Indian Kitchen

So far so good (still eating!). :) Had GF menu behind counter and lots of options. Quick, friendly, delicious. Vegan and dairy-free options too. Will update review if I get glutened.

  • Aster's Ethiopian Restaurant

    5 starsJanuary 15, 2015

    2804 South I H 35, Austin, TX 78705

This is among my favorite places in Austin. Can order "black" injera for no surcharge--it is GF, made with teff only. We often go for the lunch buffet ($10) so you can try lots of dishes. Always lots of veggies available.

  • Weber Grill

    5 starsJanuary 03, 2015

2331 Fountain Square Dr, Lombard, IL 60148

This place took such good care of me. I was uncertain about getting a bourbon-glazed salmon. The server had the chef talk to me about it being triple-distilled certified GF bourbon. All allergy orders are flagged in the kitchen and must be signed off and delivered to the table by a manager. I was impressed by how conscientious they were. My non-GF friends were all eating complementary pretzel rolls, and my waiter spontaneously brought me a toasted Udi's bun (heart in the right place). My salad (subbed in warm grilled salmon) was delicious. I was over the moon and wish there was a Weber's in Austin.

  • Maggiano's

    3 starsJanuary 03, 2015

1847 Freedom Drive, Naperville, IL 60563

So many GF options, and a great deal to get the 2-person meal with 2 extra pastas to go. All the sauces are GF. Sub GF penne into almost anything. Chopped salad delicious, creme brulee awesome. Pasta was eh, kinda bland. Probably my fault ordering the "light" version of something alfredo. Didn't really like the texture of the penne either.

  • Red's Porch

    1 starsJanuary 03, 2015

My fish was way too salty, even for my taste.

  • Wildberry Pancakes & Cafe

    4 starsJanuary 03, 2015

1383 North Meacham Road, Schaumburg, IL 60173

My omelette and hash browns looked delicious, but I scarfed down the all GF pancakes first without batting a lash. So yummy! The menu is clearly labeled and there are plenty of options. 4/5 because we waited an hour and the kid's berry pancakes were all sugar.

  • Egg Harbor Cafe

    5 starsJanuary 03, 2015

157 Yorktown Shopping Center, Lombard, IL 60148

We did not have high expectations walking up to a restaurant in a mall, but it was fantastic! Loved the GF cinnamon roll! Too bad I shared it. There were so many menu choices. The server told me that GF orders are cooked in a fresh clean pan to minimize cross-contamination. I am very sensitive and did not get sick.

  • Gusto Italian Kitchen + Wine Bar

    4 starsDecember 22, 2014

4800 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78756

Large personal pizzas were $10-14. There is also gf penne pasta (no other shapes, same as most places). The beet arugula salad was great. Good atmosphere, good food, good service. Based on creative ingredients in other dishes and the higher-end vibe, I was disappointed the mushroom pizza used regular mushrooms. Overall great experience.

  • Papa Murphy's

    4 starsDecember 22, 2014

5401 South Farm to Market Road 1626 #120, Kyle, TX 78640

Ask them to change gloves if you need. Have gotten pizza here twice and been fine. Better crust and less greasy than Mr Gattis. It is ~$14 for a gf pizza that you bake yourself, pricey but on par with other places.

  • Goode Co. Seafood

    3 starsNovember 16, 2014

2621 Westpark Dr, Houston, TX 77098

The gf option was grilled fish with no sauce or marinade, just salt and pepper. They left the bread and empanada off my plate, but did not add anything in their place... Was still sorta hungry after $24 plate, which is disappointing. The fish itself had good flavor. The shrimp were salty and the asparagus tougher than expected. Did not get sick. The menu is explicit about what contains gluten.

  • The East Main Grill

    4 starsOctober 24, 2014

209 E Main St, Johnson City, TX 78636

Had gf options when we went for Sunday brunch. Usually have gf bread but were out. Ordered eggs florentine gf, but it came out on an english muffin. Sent it back, came back scooted off the muffin, covered in crumbs. Explained how that is not ok, and they quickly and apologetically remade it. Be patient and clear. The food was great and the people very, very nice.

  • Freddie's Place

    1 starsOctober 24, 2014

    1703 South 1st Street, Austin, TX 78704

Family friendly with outdoor playscape and music. Several gf options, staff willing to ask kitchen for you. Ate here at least half a dozen times, but got sick after my last visit in August. They brought my sandwich out on regular bread at first. My hunch is they just switched the bun and brought it back to me. Lazy, inconsiderate, frustrating.

  • Smashburger

    4 starsOctober 24, 2014

    9900 S Interstate 35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78748

Gf buns available. As with Mighty Fine, go with the bigger burger, or the puffy gf bun is too much bread for the meat. The rosemary fries are good.

  • Carino's

    3 starsOctober 24, 2014

9500 S IH 35 Service Rd., SB, Austin, TX 78748

Typical chain fare, but with gf pasta available. Went on family night, and one dish was more than enough for me and my hungry fella. Did not make me sick.

  • Lick Ice Creams

    5 starsMay 14, 2014

Yum! Omg yum. I don't go here often because it's too good.

  • Sprouts

    5 starsMay 14, 2014

6920 Manchaca Rd, Austin, TX 78745

My favorite grocery store! Great prices on produce and a lot of gf items like bread, oatmeal, snacks, and baking mixes. Plus the employees and customers are surprisingly super nice.

  • Galaxy Cafe

    4 starsMay 14, 2014

    9911 Brodie Ln #750, Austin, TX 78748

I like Galaxy cafe! The soup is very good, they have gf bread and rice tortillas.

  • Torchy's Tacos

    3 starsMay 14, 2014

    2809 S 1st St, Austin, TX 78704

The tacos are yummy. The beans have cheese cooked into them. This is not a big problem unless you are vegan or allergic to dairy.

  • Zoes Kitchen

    4 starsMay 14, 2014

5601 Brodie Ln #1525, Sunset Valley, TX 78745

I love Zo√ęs! Eaten here enough times to get freebies from their app. They can sub in gluten-free sides. The white beans are delicious. I usually get salmon kabobs. My fella complains about 3/4 of the time that the steak meat is too tough but still he orders it. The veggies usually have a preponderance of onions and my order is often not quite right. But the food is yummy, fast, and healthy!

  • Ruggles Green

  • Carino's

    4 starsMay 14, 2014

    4904 N. Navarro, Victoria, TX 77904

The first time I went, they cleaned out the pizza oven before mine went in! That surprised me. The second time, they ran out of gluten-free dough and our waitress quit 30 min into dinner. But my food was free! Woohoo

  • Nanami Sushi Bar & Grill

    3 starsApril 01, 2014

9001 Brodie Lane, Suite B1, Austin, TX 78748

Gluten free soy sauce available, sauces can be left off, and server was knowledgeable. Somewhat overpriced but rolls were good.

  • Brick Oven Restaurant

    1 starsApril 01, 2014

9911 Brodie Ln, Austin, TX 78748

The pastas I got were bland except the spicy one. The bruschetta is okay (udi's) and mom loved the pizza. 2 or 3 visits, no issues. Then... I am not sure what happened but last time I ate here I became quite sick before we finished dinner. Nice bathrooms.

  • Jason's Deli

    4 starsApril 01, 2014

    9600 South I-35 Suite D-500, Austin, TX 78748

Easy, quick, safe. Even healthful, with salmon, salad bar, etc. I think they are using Udi's bread, great if you have no egg allergy. Plus there is a nice playground here.

  • Logan's Roadhouse

    3 starsApril 01, 2014

419 Old San Antonio Road, Buda, TX 78610

They did care and made things safe for me. The waitress learned a lot during my visit. The options were okay. They had a printed page of gluten free menu with specific instructions to the kitchen. All that is great... I was just still hungry $14 later (unusual for me).

  • Chipotle

    4 starsMarch 19, 2014

3550 South General Bruce Dr., Bldg D, Suite 126, Temple, TX 76504

Conscientious staff changed gloves and utensils without me asking. Everything on the line is gluten free except the tortillas. They got fresh bin of lettuce since that is touched by gloved hands that also handle tortillas. Plus, antibiotic-free meat.

  • Hopdoddy Burger Bar

    3 starsMarch 19, 2014

    1400 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704

Overhyped. Good but not better than Might Fine. Ate gf safely.

  • Cool Mint Cafe

    4 starsMarch 19, 2014

415 Burleson St, San Marcos, TX 78666

Very slow service, but great food and "happy" meat in addition to gf options.

  • Nonna Gina's Italian Restaurant

    4 starsMarch 19, 2014

  • Mighty Fine

    5 starsMarch 10, 2014

  • Noot's Thai Kitchen

    5 starsMay 23, 2013

6360 North Navarro Street, Victoria, TX 77904

Conscientious about several allergens. Everything made to order, so it can be customized. Their soy sauce is gluten-free, and many dishes also soy-free. Good food, good service.
