They have a separate kitchen to make gluten-free items, and these items include waffles!! They taste amazing. Their GF kitchen space is certified GF. Their dessert products are also available at local Whole Foods stores. Been here many times, never had a glutening and a variety of menu choices!

Had a delicious and safe entree salad plus dessert. Very unique flavors, and many other options on their GF menu, looking forward to trying more things! Waiter notified the chef I was celiac. Great experience.

I'm vegetarian and celiac so I'd never tried Legal before and was very impressed with their separate GF menu that has many choices, even for veggies like myself, and the care and attentiveness they take in preparing safe gf food. Will definitely go there again.

I had a delicious soup, salad and side and all were prepared safely and I did not get sick. They have a lot of other options for meat/seafood eaters, I just happen to be vegetarian. The menu is marked with GF items, and the staff all knew what "celiac" was (which is always a good sign) and our waitress let the chef know that's why I ordered GF. Would visit again!!

Absolutely AMAZING! I haven't had pita in the 4 years since I was diagnosed. I loved loved loved my veggie wrap. It's truly exciting when there is healthy, vegetarian/vegan friendly, safe gluten-free food available when traveling. 100% GF kitchen and they are SUPER fast getting orders out. Will definitely visit any time I'm in Chicago.

No issues with glutening, had a delicious fresh-tasting meal. GF options listed in a separate section of the menu, many vegetarian options as well. Edit: above original review from 5/30/13, have eaten there 2 more times since then, and each time was delicious & safe for celiacs.

What more can be said that hasn't already? Mariposa is amazing. The lunch items are super fun and the desserts are ultra tasty. Prep times for prepared food are generally slow, so don't assume you can zip in and out (although you might be able to!), but I love them anyway. :-)

Berkeley Bowl is an awesome huge local grocery store with a plethora of amazing gluten-free packaged items. They have frozen, shelf stable, raw, you name it! Your well known brands (Udi's, Glutino's, Enjoy Life) as well as crazy new stuff. Most of it is made in gluten-free facilities and/or certified GF (but of course always check). And, best of all, their exhaustive produce section can't be beat. Local, organic, 6 types of navel oranges? They have it! I prefer this location ("Berkeley Bowl West") for the broader selection, larger aisles, easier parking, and cleaner store, but the original store is also great.

Glutened here immediately. Knew it after a few bites. They don't do anything to prevent cross contamination (they warned me not to get the toast or GF pancakes, etc) so I got the hot buckwheat, but was so sick anyway. Should have trusted my instincts and not eaten here at all. 100% not safe for celiacs. Go to Chaco Canyon Organic Cafe instead, they are awesome: separate prep areas and safe delicious food.

My experience here has been VERY mixed. You absolutely have to be diligent. After asking if the dish was gluten-free 3 times, and telling them I was celiac, I was glutened by a dessert item. Manager comp'ed the meal, after telling me there was actually barley malt in it (despite my asking the 3 times...), but I was already sick. Have eaten there numerous times without problems beforehand. The staff ranges from being very careful to being clueless. I hope they can get it together because the food is fresh and delicious. Consistency is needed.

I was glutened here. :( Was definitely their food and not something else I ate.. Won't be going back. The food itself also wasn't very good. The sauces were watery and salty. My nonceliac dining companions did not like their food, agreeing it was heavily over-salted.

The food is very fresh and oh so tasty! I was hopeful they would be super careful since they do have "glutenous" sandwiches in their kitchen, and it appears they were! I'm very sensitive to cross-contamination & I was not ill at all and loved my food. The spring rolls are too delicious. Can't wait to go back!!

The food is delicious. I've never been glutened here. But, given that wheat is in the kitchen and they are a low-cost/high volume establishment, am never completely calm when I go, afraid an accidental cross-contamination might happen. That said, been many times and each time loved the chance to have Mexican food out instead of at home!!

Food was in the okay to good range. Wanted to love it since they are 100% gf. Would try them again, but since they aren't in the best part of Baltimore it hasn't happened.

Awesome food! Loved the smoothies and the food, the peanut Thai bowl in particular I had was superb. They create GF food in a separate area of the kitchen. I'm quite sensitive, went there 3 times and no reaction.

  • Woodberry Kitchen

2010 Clipper Park Rd, Baltimore, MD 21211

The food is fresh and amazing! Expensive and hard to get a reservation but worth it for a treat. Been many times, and they are usually 100% on point. However, Took off a star because one visit they served me a salad with a rogue crouton! So be vigilant, but they can generally be trusted. :)

  • Gather

    5 starsMay 07, 2013

2200 Oxford Street, Berkeley, CA 94704

The food is delicious and very fresh. The menu changes seasonally and the dishes are creative. I've been to Gather countless times and they have never once "glutened" me. I'm a very sensitive celiac, and they take it quite seriously. The menu has gf items marked, as well as vegan and vegetarian, but I always tell them why I am ordering gf and they assure me extra care will be taken. I eat at very very few restaurants, mostly make food at home, but Gather is one place I can trust!
