About Me

As soon as I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2008, I became determined to convert all of my favorite recipes to a gluten free alternative. I began “Lazy Gluten Free” to share my adventures and quick and easy gluten-free recipes.

  • Wealthy Street Bakery

    4 starsAugust 20, 2014

610 Wealthy St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Dedicated bakery at the Hall Street location (distributes to the Wealthy St Location). Many gluten free baked goods and all are very delicious! Be wary of the pizza however as it is baked in the same area as the non-gluten free pizza. All other baked goods are completely safe.

  • One Trick Pony Grill & Taproom

Great selection of GF items, and good food.

Everything was delicious and I was impressed with the selection on their GF menu. Definitely would come back here!

  • Weber Grill

    5 starsJuly 23, 2014

    539 N State St, Chicago, IL 60654

I've eaten here three times now and have had a great experience each time. There is a good selection on the GF menu, and they offer Udi's buns for their burgers. I just wish that they would make the fries GF or add more side options.

  • P.F. Chang's

    5 starsJuly 23, 2014

2300 Village Dr. West Bldg #140, Maumee, OH 43537

I have yet to be disappointed with PF Chang's, their GF menu, or the food. I had a great experience at this location and would return again if I'm in the area.

  • Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville

    5 starsJuly 23, 2014

Suite 6101, 130 The Island Dr, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

This is probably one of the best GF experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Our server's name was Jasmine, and she went above and beyond to ensure that my meal was definitely gluten free. Margaritaville has a great gluten free menu to begin with, including GF buns for their burgers/sandwiches, and they also have a dedicated GF frier - which the fries were amazing! I had the Volcano Nachos as an appetizer, and the Cheeseburger in Paradise with fries. I so wish I could have tried their GF brownie, but I was so full! I would go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat.

  • Ruby Tuesday

    5 starsJuly 23, 2014

2302 PARKWAY, PIGEON FORGE, TN 37863

This restaurant was extremely accommodating with my requests. I ordered the veggie trio (baked potato, spaghetti squash and broccoli) which comes with the salad bar. I told my server that I couldn't eat from the salad bar due to cross contamination possibilities. She spoke with the chef who prepared a salad fresh from the kitchen for me with no problems at all. They were very understanding of my concerns and helped me figure out exactly what I could/couldn't have. I'd definitely come back here!

  • Rainbow Grill

    4 starsNovember 22, 2013

    4225 32nd Avenue, Hudsonville, MI 49426

Although this is a small-town restaurant, when I asked if they had a gluten-free menu, the host knew right away that they did and showed it to me (already on each table). The server was informed before I ever said anything and was very helpful in answering my somewhat difficult questions (is the grill baste GF?). The restaurant offers gluten-free bread as well. Although probably not exactly Celiac-Friendly, the staff is quite knowledgeable and I would cautiously eat here again.

  • Coco Charlotte

Always has a great selection. Their blueberry muffins and chocolate white chocolate chip cookies are absolutely wonderful!

  • Bonefish Grill

    5 starsOctober 03, 2013

    1100 E Paris Ave SE, Grand Rapids,MI 49546

My husband and I came here upon my sister's recommendation for our anniversary. The GF menu has lot of options, including dessert, and the staff is very knowledgeable. I love this restaurant!

  • Zehnder's Restaurant

    1 starsAugust 06, 2013

    730 S Main St, Frankenmuth, MI 48734

Although the staff was friendly and knowledgable about gluten, I was extremely disappointed in the food preparation. There were limited menu options, all of which were quite pricey, and I had to send my salad back twice due to cross-contamination. The first time I found a potato chip and the second time i found a crouton, both of which were buried in the lettuce. Luckily, I did not end up getting sick, and our waitress was sympathetic and felt awful, but I will not be coming back again.

  • Martha's Leelanau Table

    5 starsJuly 05, 2013

413 Saint Joseph Street, Suttons Bay, MI 49682

This is a great breakfast/brunch cafe that serves unique dishes with local ingredients. Since everything is made from scratch, they can easily accomodate a gluten-free diet. The waitstaff was knowledgable about celiac, and Martha even came out of the kitchen to make sure my meal was prepared correctly! I will definitely return again.

  • Red Mesa Grill

    5 starsJuly 05, 2013

    1544 U.S. 31, Traverse City, MI 49686

I have been here twice now and love it! The waitstaff is knowledgable and the menu is celiac-friendly. I plan to come back again next time I'm in TC.

  • County Seat Lounge

    1 starsJuly 05, 2013

    128 S Jefferson St, Hastings, MI 49058

I had their gluten-free mac and cheese and ended up having a really bad gluten reaction. I'm guessing it was probably a cross-contamination issue. I will not be going here again.

  • Bagger Dave's

    5 starsJuly 05, 2013

4553 Canal Ave SW, Grandville, MI 49418

I was very impressed with their gluten-free menu and the knowledge of the waitstaff. Everything on the menu is gluten-free except the buns. I will definitely be going back!
