When I went last week this restaurant did not have any gluten free options. I'm curious why a few people posted good reviews? Could you tell us how you found gf options or was it about a different restaurant?

CPK has a bunch of salads that are gluten free. They are trained in cross contamination and I have never had a problem eating here! I haven't tried it yet but I have seen a few advertisements for gf pizza at cpk now (jan 2014). My fav salad is the Cobb!

Oyamel has a great GF menu! They have tons of options and the kitchen staff is very well trained to avoid cross contamination. In my experiences there the entire staff was knowledgable. Things to avoid: 1. The chips are fried in contaminated oil but the staff is happy to sub corn tortillas for free! 2. The margaritas are not gluten free but can be made gluten free if you ask! 3. Ordering something you know is on the GF menu is not enough! You must inform your waiter because the kitchen staff makes changes to the cooking preparation when gluten free is requested

Jaleo is great if you are gluten free! They have a very large, diverse gluten free menu and every staff member I've spoken to at multiple locations has been incredibly knowledgable about the menu options and how to avoid cross contamination. Tell your server you need to be gluten free and they will make sure that the chef knows to make needed changes to the menu item!

Great food! This is one of the few gluten free BBQ places that I know of. The food is great and there are tons of options. Ask the host for a gluten free menu before you find a table. Make sure when you go to order your meat selections that you ask the people behind the counter to change gloves and change the lining on the scale they use to weigh the meat. Since they have a few meat options that have gluten it is important that they change the scale's lining paper and gloves to avoid cross contamination. Also, remind the host that you do not want bread. Sometimes that instinctively throw a alive of bread on too of the meat since it is such a routine thing for them to do! Enjoy!!

Cabs has a lot of gluten free options but the staff has inconsistent levels of awareness about gluten free options at the restaurant. The menu marks if something is GF or if can be prepared gluten free. One waiter told me the pita bread was gluten free but it definitely is not, trust your instincts and if you are in doubt then ask another waiter or host if you feel uncomfortable! The food is great and they are very accommodating. They were happy to sub out pita for veggies when you order hummus.

Matchbox has a dedicated gluten free menu that you can ask the host/hostess for when you arrive. Make sure you tell your waiter that you are avoiding gluten so they can make a note for the chef because some of the menu items require slight modifications to make them gluten free. The shrimp and grits dish is awesome!

WOW! This place has amazing baked goods that are all gluten free! The staff is lovely. I arrived right as they were closing but they stayed open just long enough to let me purchase the baked goodies since I was so excited. The hostess said "we are so happy to provide gluten free products! We love seeing such excited customers!" Chewy texture, interesting sophisticated flavors, all around a great bakery experience.

This place is vegan and gluten free friendly. They have an amazing and diverse assortment of baked goodies. I had a raspberry thumbprint cookie and my family had a salted caramel donut and a fruit crumble bar that tasted like cobbler. Great service! I can't wait to go back.

Beware of this place! Although they do have gluten free options, including bread, the staff is completely unaware about the GF options. By staff, I mean everyone including the chef. I order a burger on GF bread but when it arrived it was on a bun that looked suspiciously glutinous. The waitress seemed very annoyed when I asked if the bun was actually GF and said that it was but I wasn't convinced. Luckily I didn't eat it until the manager came over and told me that it was NOT gluten free. They sent the order back but did not comp the $17 burger! There were other issues with this dining experience but the biggest problem was the lack of training about GF options.

Great menu items. I love brunching at open city. The staff is not the best in terms of catering to gluten free customers but if you are careful and attentive you can dine around it. For example, every time I have ordered GF and explained that my dish must be GF the servers always bring coffee with a cookie on the saucer. I go here all the time because the food is great but make sure you ask questions, confirm that a dish is GF and if you have doubts, double check!!

Great quality! They have GF cupcakes available at their store but more importantly this is a great place if you need a gluten free cake. My family go my birthday cake from here this year as well as a "congrats" cake for completing the MCAT. Sticky Fingers even personalized it with my name and a little stethoscope on the cake.

Best gluten free restaurant I have ever been to! They serve sandwiches, lasagna, pizzas and much much more. The best part about this place is that the menu is incredibly eclectic so there is something for everyone. The restaurant is also a wine and food store so after dinner you can stock up on GF foods and great wine. The staff is very friendly. They remember their customers and are very welcoming. I love the cheese plate and the Italian sandwich on a baguette.

Great gluten free menu and knowledgable staff. I can always find great food here! They have a pretty big gluten free menu and if you are really hungry, they have paella. I order it without the extra olive oil that they drizzle over it right before serving otherwise it is too oily!
833 Wayne Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910
This is probably the least gluten free friendly whole foods market in the country in terms of their buffet options. Make sure you read the buffet labels. They put bread crumbs in hamburger patties as well as in some of their quinoa salads so watch out! They have a lot of great GF products on their shelves including Against The Grain personal pizzas which are amazing and I don't see them at other whole foods!

AG has a pretty good gluten free menu with lots of options. The best part about Austin Grill in Silver Spring is the well trained staff. In my experience, every server I've had has been very well informed about what is and what is not gluten free. The wings and the nachos are really delicious!
575 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20004
Great menu items! Double check when your order arrives that it was prepared gluten free. On more than one occasion I've had to sen food back because accommodations weren't made or were forgotten eg fried onions on a taco even though I ordered from the GF menu. They are great at taking food back to double check though!

They don't have many gf options. When I went all thy had was a savory roll. Also they have zero cross contamination protocol.

make sure to very clearly tell the server you are gluten free. ask for the gf menu.
