While the menu is limited, the choices they provide are excellent! They even offer baby back ribs, which is something sufferers of Celiac do not get to have very often. (By the way, they were excellent!) This was by far the most accommodating and best spot that we've tried, and frequented it six times while we were there. Simply put, they became our food source while we were off seeing the sites. We also brought our wedding party with us on multiple occasions and everyone loved their food. They would get five stars except that their servers don't always know about cross contamination with the fryers. I would also like to see some more organic offerings. Notes: Stay away from the fries! We had a few servers that weren't as knowledgeable, and they tried offering fries as a side. When we reconfirmed, we learned that they were not gluten-free. Also, if they try to offer you fried plantains instead of the bread, note that they might be in a shared fryer. I have taken quite a few friends here (most that are not on restricted diets), and they seem to have something for everyone. There is a large variety of gluten free options, and they can also accommodate vegan and vegetarian diets. Their prices are pretty reasonable too. Their gluten free pizzas have the best tasting crusts, and their dinner options are wonderful as well! I only did four stars since there aren't a lot of organic options but otherwise I would give them five stars. Favorites: Green Peas, Chipotle Chicken, and Roasted Veggie Gluten Free Pizzas are always great choices Please see more gluten free options in this area by checking out my other restaurant reviews: http://voices.yahoo.com/eating-gluten-free-dairy-free-venice-beach-12185386.html

Café Gratitude started in the bay area, and started up their second southern California location in Venice. They have a very friendly and spiritual vibe, where your server asks you a very thought-provoking question of the day. They offer a traditional eat-in restaurant experience, although they also have a convenient to-go area on the side. Their restaurant is entirely vegan and mostly organic, and they accommodate most allergy restricted diets. However, since most of their dishes contain nuts, they advise against dining with them if you have severe nut allergies. My favorite dishes are "I am Comforted" as a starter (baked sweet potatoes), "I am Mahalo" (Hawaiian pizza) or "I am Fulfilled" (large salad) for my entrées, and "I am Irresistable" (chocolate and coconut pie) for dessert. Their "I am Grace" smoothie is wonderful too. They claim that all of their menu items are gluten free with the exception of their breads. I did call to verify that all of the soy sauces they use are gluten free too. (Some raw vegan places like to use Nama Shoyu, which is not gluten free, but they assured me that they used a wheat free tamari sauce.) Really not a fan of this place. I went here a couple of years ago so I hope that this place has changed since my last visit. Most of the people there didn't know what gluten free was, and had a serious attitude about it when asked. I felt very unwelcomed, and was there with my wedding party for a casual hangout spot. You would be better off at one of the many other spots in Maui that accommodate.
