  • The Great Outdoors Sub Shop

I stopped by this sub shop because they are right across the street from local oven and carry their products. I got a nod from the employee when I let him know I was celiac, however when I asked if all their meats are GF he said no, and told me two that are. I asked him if the meats on a certain sub are GF, and he said he wasn't sure, then added "I mean, it's turkey, so why shouldn't it be gluten free?". At that point I felt like asking further questions about CC would be pointless, so I left. Unless there is a knowledgeable day time person I don't know about, I would avoid this place if you are a Celiac.

Great GF pizza (made with venice bakery crusts), and the GF pizookie is to die for. The staff here can get rushed and such so I recommend not coming at a busy time to up your chances of getting treated properly as GF. I haven't tried the other entrees because the pizza is so good. Once you get a lot of toppings on there it can get pricey, but is worth it.

This is a gas station with a natural foods market attached to it. They have a really good selection of GF items on the shelf and frozen, but you do pay the most here versus bigger markets and online. They have nice local produce. They do not sell Local Oven products on the store side, but they sell sandwiches and stuff on the gas station side with the option of a local oven bun. I have not tried that yet so I can't comment on it. But this is a nice place to stop into if you need a few things and some produce. They will special order you anything you need.

Decent cheaper mexican food. I usually get a tamale platter with queso on top instead of the chili, with double beans instead of the beans and rice. Then I ask them to leave off the chip and the side of tortillas. There honestly is a higher chance of CC here since the staff are more into speed and such, but it is pretty easy to tell if something not GF was put on your tamales. If you go through the drive through, the food makers actually hear your order and get it right every time that way, since they hear you say leave off the chip and tortillas. Just check your meal before you drive away.

This is the one place where you can walk in, flip the menu over to the GF side, and feel totally safe. It is ran by a family that are half Celiacs. Pizza, burgers, salads, pasta, British food, and some seasonal things. Great to take gluten eaters there because they serve regular stuff as well, but they keep everything separate. They give you GF garlic bread!

Always a nice and easy time here... I usually get the grilled nuggets and fries,a side salad, or fruit cup, all of which are GF with no modifications. Fries are fried in a dedicated fryer. Side salads are premade with no gluteny stuff in them.

Sooooo good! They can basically make anything for you here if you special order, but they have a selection of maybe 10 items each day, so stopping in there is always something you will like. They do dairy free, vegan, nut free, and other allergens, too if you ask, usually there are dairy free items in the case at all times. Their regular GF stuff is great, no fear since it is a dedicated facility. They sell frozen pot pies, and wonderful sandwich thins that freeze well. Highly recommend!

I go in here every so often, some of the staff recognize me and call me Gluten girl, haha. Ask them to change their gloves, everything but the flour tortillas are GF. I get a burrito bowl. Lettuce and cheese can be CC'd since they pick them up with their hands after handling tortillas, so I will only get those if they are not busy and have them get me some from a fresh container in the back. Chips are GF, really good with their guac.

Great pho, huge GF menu as most things are naturally GF. The beef pho and boba tea are awesome, huge portions, and the staff actually know what GF is. The only thing they lack is GF soy sauce.

Lots of naturally GF stuff like steak, potatoes, veggies, salad, ribs. They have local oven GF buns for burgers. Ask for a GF menu when you get in, and do have the staff tell the kitchen it is for a Celiac. But I have been eating here GF before they put their GF menu out, their ribeye steak cannot be beat! Only downside is no dedicated fryer so fried stuff is a no.

Gluten free fried chicken on regular menu- made in a dedicated fryer with kitchen staff who knows how to actually do GF. It is soooo goood! The other half of their menu is seasonal and changes, and usually about half of it is naturally GF or with few modifications. You can see into the kitchen a little and hear them alerting each other to a GF order, so they take it seriously. A little pricey, but if you don't drink it isn't too bad. I think this is the only place you can get GF fried chicken, and it is glorious. The proprietor of the restaurant has Celiac disease, so GF is something they do right. Free valet parking.

They have a decent grocery selection of GF items here including frozen stuff that is hard to find. They have a large bakery and prepared foods section in which nothing is safe to eat for a Celiac. They have a line of "Low Gluten Diet" Items that are NOT SAFE FOR CELIACS, they basically take GF mixes and make them in a regular bakery so they are very contaminated. Saddens me to see the GF diet not taken seriously, but they do have some grocery items that are beneficial, and very nice meat and produce. Lastly, they are pricey here, so not for a budget shopper.

This is a good Texas BBQ place where the staff is very knowledgeable about GF and Celiac needs. The owner has a relative with Celiac, so they keep track of what is and isn't gluten free. All the meats are GF, the veggie sides are. The sauce and fried items (shared fryer) are not. But their meat is so good it doesn't need sauce. When you walk in, usually the manager is at the front of the line, tell them you are Celiac and they will pull out a clean cutting board and knife, change their gloves, and keep track of the meal prep to the end. It is cafeteria line style like most BBQ places, so it is all done right in front of you. Manager and owner are really on top of it, very nice to be treated so well and taken seriously.

OH MY GOD! BEST PLACE EVER! I want to move to Seattle just so I can keep eating here. That is all I have to say about this place. I was staying with a friend in Seattle, said "I see this place on my gluten free app ever heard of it?" And she says it is her favorite place to go for chinese food. This was hands down the best meal I have had since going GF after my celiac diagnosis. Knowledgeable staff, great menu with good info, lots of things already GF in the first place, they just use GF soy sauce. And the best tasting GF chinese food I have ever had. If you are in Seattle you have got to try this place. According to my friend they can get extremely busy at dinner time so if you are going to eat in, go on off peak hours.
