• Peak City Grill & Bar

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

126 North Salem Street, Apex, NC 27502

I've eaten dinner and brunch here. They don't have a GF menu but they are very good about letting you know what you can eat and the chef is always willing to take a minute to craft a meal for you. Good "local" place that gets how to treat customers.

  • Rock Harbor Grill

    4 starsNovember 15, 2013

121 North Salem Street, Apex, NC 27502

Have not eaten here but their web site and literature indicate they make gluten free meals on request.

  • Tyler's Tap Room

    3 starsNovember 15, 2013

1483 Beaver Creek Commons Drive, Apex, NC 27502

They have a very very limited GF menu but can also safely do burgers with no bun. They have a few GF beer options. This is a place that works well if you want to take your family somewhere "local" but want to be sure you can eat something, however it's definitely not a place that's trying too hard to be GF.

Like everyone said, great pizza. Besides that they serve Redbridge which is a life saver when you're at a downtown Raleigh event that serves beer (but you can't have any because of GF). I usually stop here and grab a beer or two and then either walk around during a beer-friendly event or grab a table outside.

  • Carrabba's

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

  • The Remedy Diner

They'll make their sandwiches on GF bread and staff is very friendly. Great "diner" type vibe.

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

    110 E Davie St, Raleigh, NC 27601

One of the most knowledgeable restaurants in Raleigh. Tons of GF options, the food is delicious, and most of the GF stuff does not require substitutions. Went with the entire family and it was one of the rare occasions where my needing GF didn't make everyone else have less of a good time.

  • The Oxford

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

319 Fayetteville St, Raleigh, NC 27601

They have updated their menu to include several GF appetizers and entrees. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and food is very good.

They do a great job of avoiding cross-contamination in their kitchen and the pizza is good - it has a bit of a hippy taste to it (you can tell they use sprouts and other veggies in the crust) but I like it a lot. Deducting a point because they never seem to know which toppings are OK for gfree. I've eaten the all meat pizza several times and not had an issue.

  • The Pit

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

    328 W Davie St, Raleigh, NC 27601

Clear menu and staff can answer questions. Very accommodating and a great place to take friends/family.

  • Irregardless Cafe & Catering

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

901 West Morgan Street, Raleigh, NC 27603

Very knowledgeable and GF options are clearly labelled. Staff knows the routine and are happy to answer questions. It's rare to find such a "local" establishment that caters to food allergies but they do a great job. Worth a visit if you're in Raleigh.

  • Mitch's Tavern

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

2426 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27607

All soups and chowders are gluten free. They've been doing GF since before it was the hep thing to do. Friendly staff are more than happy to answer questions.

  • Bella Monica

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

3121 Edwards Mill Rd, Raleigh, NC 27612

They are wonderful. They take food allergies very seriously. The server even changed out my clean cutlery with some that had gone through a separate wash to avoid even a trace of allergens. Menu is clearly defined and options are good. They truly understand what it takes to serve a customer with food issues.

  • Mez Contemporary Mexican

  • Herons (Umstead Hotel)

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

100 Woodland Pond Dr, Cary, NC 27513

The absolute best of the best. Staff inquires about allergies when you make a reservation. Chef takes particular care of your needs. A pricey restaurant that is worth every single penny. The food and presentation are top-notch and the care given to each guest is unbelievable.

  • Jason's Deli

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

210 Crossroads Blvd, Cary, NC 27518

Their web site clearly labels what is GF on the salad bar. Sandwiches can be ordered with GF bread. I have only eaten the salad bar but never had issues.

  • Chipotle

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

100 Wrenn Dr., Cary, NC 27511

Everything except flour tortillas is GF. They are good about changing gloves if you ask.

  • Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

1060 Darrington Dr, Cary, NC 27513

I am very surprised by the negative review. We ate there for our anniversary and the service was top-notch. Servers are very knowledgeable about GF and the menu is clearly labelled. As always, I'd advise being clear that you are ordering from the GF menu and ask questions if something doesn't look right but to me Biaggi's is a prime example of doing GF correctly.

  • Five Guys

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

    1856 Boulderstone Way, Cary , NC 27519

They were exceptional. I asked for a burger with no bun and the cashier asked if "no bun' was for an allergy. I said yes and they indicated special attention to my order to the cook. Everything was great and the special touch of making sure I saw them take it seriously was very appreciated.

  • Doherty's Irish Pub & Restaurant

    5 starsNovember 15, 2013

Spoke with the manager. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The menu is clearly labelled and there are a lot of options. This is one of those places you don't need to worry about asking questions. Very very friendly.
