About Me

My daughter and I were both diagnosed with Celiac in 2012 and we are still learning to live with it.

This was disappointing. The only thing we could order was enchiladas no chips or crispy anything because no dedicated fryer. There are many other Mexican restaurants where you can eat almost everything so we will not be back here.

Really good gluten free thin crust pizza. The crust was tender and not hard as a rock like so many others. Good naturally gluten free items as well.

Great local coffeehouse with huge GF coconut macaroons dipped in chocolate. Also a nice variety of wrapped gluten free treats from a local bakery.

Went here for July 4 fireworks display over the lake. Nice gluten free options, including dessert. We had the seafood brochette, and a chicken breast with mashed potatoes.

  • Ivar's

    5 starsJuly 07, 2014

1001 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98104

Lots of GF menu options. The smoked salmon and corn chowder, and the fish tacos were both incredible. Also had a GF hamburger with fries from a dedicated fryer for our daughter. Great lunch!

  • Cascade Garden Chinese Restaurant

    5 starsJuly 07, 2014

1580 NW Gilman Blvd, Issaquah, WA 98027

They have a separate gluten free menu but will also modify other dishes to be gluten free. We had their walnut shrimp and a modified chicken with broccoli and both were delicious.

  • Bacco Cafe

    5 starsJuly 07, 2014

86 Pine Street, Seattle, WA 98101

Many options are naturally gluten free. The serve eggs benedict on polenta patties and it made a wonderful substitute for an English muffin. Would definitely eat here again!

  • Wild Coffee House & Bistro

Tons of gluten free options here. We had a chocolate chip muffin that was delicious. Also ordered pizza and a peanut butter brownie as a sack lunch for traveling. Unfortunately the pizza was made with tortillas and it crumbed to bits. The brownie was good. Would definitely recommend this but go during the day. It becomes a hookah bar at night!!!!

  • Coffee & A Specialty Bakery

    5 starsJuly 07, 2014

1500 Western Ave, Seattle, WA 98101

The selection was a little limited in the late afternoon but we still had a cinnamon roll, an almond cookie and strawberry shortcake. It was all fabulous!

  • The Local

Nice gluten free options but I was a little worried when the waitress said the french fries were gluten free, but they did not have a dedicated fryer. We opted for the salad with our burger but it was delicious and no gluten problems afterwards.

We had the high tea. They have a gluten free version that includes finger sandwiches, a scone biscuit that was incredible, and assorted pastry desserts. It was outstanding. We also noticed that their other restaurants listed gluten free options on their menu. The high tea was fabulous and a real treat for celiacs. We did not feel deprived at all!!!

  • Fortune Wok

This is one of our favorite gluten free restaurants. They have a designated gluten free menu on the regular menu. We especially love the lemon shrimp, sesame chicken and lettuce wraps. Rice noodle dishes are good too. We love to eat here!

  • Dickey's Barbecue Pit

    5 starsJune 17, 2014

Metcalf Avenue & West 121st Street, Overland Park, KS 66209

This is one of our favorite restaurants to eat gluten free. We can enjoy almost everything on the menu, including ice cream. It's all delicious and we've never had a problem after eating here.

  • Blue Koi

We've eaten here many times gluten free. Great menu options and we've never had a problem. Love the lettuce wraps!

8232 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66208

There are many delicious menu items and they are clearly marked gluten free on the menu. We had a couple of glitches with our service and they really went the extra mile to make things right. The food was delicious and there are many gluten free options to choose from. We will be back!

  • Chipotle

    5 starsJune 17, 2014

We've had many burrito bowls, tacos and chips here and never had a problem. We live nearby so we go here often.

9916 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS 66210

We live nearby and eat here often. There are plenty of GF options and they are more than willing to make substitutions. They don't offer any baked goods or pancakes, but the egg dishes, potatoes and fruit are are very good. We've never had a problem here. My favorite is the bacado omelet.

  • Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue

    4 starsJune 17, 2014

9520 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66212

We have had some good experiences here. Just wish they would find a way to make their onion rings gluten free. They used to be a favorite of ours. And we can't have the fries since they don't have a dedicated fryer. Aside from that, we've enjoyed their meats, beans and cole slaw without any problems.

  • Botanas Restaurant and Bar

    5 starsJune 17, 2014

    3515 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson, MO 65616

This was a real treat. The menu is marked with gluten free items, and we could order over 75% of their normal menu items. We liked it so well we came back the next night for our weekend trip. We had enchilada plates, white queso, and a Caribbean shrimp plate with plantains. Both were delicious and we had no problems. I think we'll eat here every time we go to Branson!

  • The Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks

    5 starsJune 16, 2014

1 Opportunity Avenue, Point Lookout, MO 65726

We've eaten gluten free here twice now, and both times I think we had a burger with their gluten free bun. It was delicious. They even had some gluten free muffins in their bakery case and they were wrapped in cellophane to avoid cross contamination. The top bun for my burger was not placed on the hamburger so I asked for some apple butter (one of their specialties) to eat it like a roll. I am so impressed that the students here are receiving some training in allergen free dining. It definitely bodes well for the future!

  • Black Oak Grill

    3 starsJune 16, 2014

601 Branson Landing Boulevard, Branson, MO 65616

This was a little disappointing. We have Celiac and the only things the manager said we could eat were the standard broiled chicken/broccoli/mashed potatoes dinner, and a salad. The chicken was very dried out. My salad was ok but nothing great. The lakeside view was nice but I wasn't impressed with their gluten free options.

  • Merchants Pub and Plate

    5 starsJune 16, 2014

746 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS 66044

They have a fantastic selection of gluten free menu items, many which do not need to be modified. The menu is clearly marked and the food is delicious. My daughter ordered the mac and cheese and it was so good I thought they made a mistake. We both have Celiac and neither one of us had any problems.
