loved this place - great place to stop if you're walking around the Duke wall or 9th street! Good coffee and very friendly staff. macarons and brownie were delicious, but both $3 which is a bit much for what it was. but the server used gloves so I felt safe eating it all and could enjoy it outside!

I know DaisyCakes started out with cupcakes but I'm not really a fan. That said, I looove everything else. They do tarts and bread puddings gluten free which you don't get everyday! The turkey bacon avocado on gf bread was delicious as was the almond apple tartlet.

they recently went entirely gluten free (the kitchen at least... the few gluten containing items are brought in from outside source) which is really exciting but the service has been terrible the few times I've been and the veggie enchiladas were a bit strange! but fried calamari in rice flour?? yes please!

  • Old Havana Sandwich Shop

    5 starsMarch 18, 2015

310 East Main Street, Durham, NC 27701

I looove this place. Their sandwiches are incredible and when they run out of bread there's still a pork plate with rice and beans etc. that's gluten-free yay! Also the coffee is perfect - reminds me of being back in Spain!

I went during a foodtruck rodeo which might skew my response but I didn't think the noodles were worth the hour wait. The deep fried sweet potato samosa things however.... incredible. Love the idea but didn't love the food.

delicious ciders! even with a recent celiac diagnosis I've never been a huge fan of beer and ciders are usually too sweet but these are great! my whole family (beer brewers and drinkers, all) really loved this place and the guys working there. we got the sampler (okay more than one) and I couldn't decide which I liked best. great stuff!!

the gfree godiva cheesecake is killer but the rest of my meal.... not so much. the gluten-free menu is great but when I was ready to order I found out the fries are NOT gluten free because it's a shared frier.... even though they're listed as gluten free. my burger was just okay and the bun was super dry. They have loads of choices but be careful!

I loved this place! I've had gluten-free pita bread before but this was hands down the best. when I asked for gluten-free pita (because it's not really advertised) the waiter asked if it was preference or an allergy. When I told him it was an allergy he directed me a completely different preparation area. This way only one person was preparing my food with fresh gloves and my own blissfully uncontaminated toppings. The chicken roti on gf pita w/ all the fixings was phenomenal! Extra $2 is annoying but worth it. Delicious, filling meal.

BEST beer stop and continues to be the best even with celiac. Staff has great knowledge, Sams has a great selection!

They need to get a dedicated fryer! u hate mot being able to eat the chips at Mexican restaurants and even though they brought me warm corn tortillas for the salsa, I was unknowingly charged extra for them. But the veggie fajitas.... Amazing! And the staff is very attentive.

Like other people have said, its very expensive! Once tax and tip were done I paid $23 for a 14" pizza! I was underwhelmed when I got my pizza because it was very dense and chewy but I still gave four stars because the leftovers (which lasted two more dinners!) were really fantastic reheated in the oven... better than at the restaurant!

  • Lilly's Pizza

I don't know what it is about gfree pizza crust but so far I've not been a fan. Lillys was a favorite pre celiac diagnosis but the gluten-free crust is just not up to snuff. Very dense and chewy and mine was also dry. otherwise pizza toppings etc are wonderful but for the added price of the gf crust I won't be going back...

incredible gluten-free buns! I thought they'd just be Udi's but they're waaay better. sweet potato fries and a turkey burger o a gf bun... heaven!

Yum - just ate here for the first time! The fries are great and I had a lettuce wrapped turkey burger that was amazing! Be careful w add-on sauces and be sure to ask. Veggie burgers have wheat in them.

I used to work here and the staff is very sympathetic and helpful. Mandel hornchen, panna cotta and some of the french macarons (depending on filling) are gluten-free in the bakery. LOVE the frittatas and fresh ingredients here. Wonderful atmosphere for everyone.

When I need fries, these are the best. Ditto the strawberry milkshakes! Best place for Celiacs to get fast food and my safest bet.

My best friend was so excited to take me here b/c it's her favorite place AND Celiac friendly. Falafel on gfree pita is really yummy with no additional cost. Other dishes and sides are clearly labeled and very good!

Great gluten-free cupcakes! I'm picky about my gfree baked goods but these are delicious. Always two different and interesting flavors (like boston creme pie or creme brulee) to choose from so its not just vanilla! Good gelato too.

  • Jose and Sons

    3 starsFebruary 15, 2014

327 West Davie Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

The atmosphere is great and the menu is clearly labeled BUT the guac is marked gluten-free and unless you like spoonfuls of guac sans chips, it's not gluten-free (the chips are in a shared frier and therefore not safe for Celiacs). Our waiter didn't know any of this and couldn't tell me how the chips or food were prepared and only bothered to find out after my friend asked him point blank to go check. That said, the food that IS safe is delicious. Chicharrones and waffles are very strange but delicious - and definitely enough for two meals!

The wait staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I feel very comfortable eating here. The chips have a dedicated fryer and are soo good. Love the nachos and tacos - but be sure to ask about marinades etc. on the meats!

  • Toast Paninoteca

Love love love eating here! it was one of my favorite restaurants before I was diagnosed and still is. Can't go wrong with their soup/salad combo. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable... If soup has croutons on top they'll omit them and voila! Celiac safe meal.
