21+ years since diagnosis. I helped start a Celiac Support group that is still running and supporting people new to the diet. Bland and boring restaurant food makes me sad; I might as well stay home. I love to cook and bake but that is harder now with recent diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Disease.

Pretty good. Large portions. Staff understands about Celiac. Just not great. In a city full of amazing restaurants I'd rather spend my eating-out dollars elsewhere.
960 Sagamore Ave, Portsmouth, NH 03801
My favorite place for breakfast or lunch, even though it is currently hard to get to because of the Sagamore Bridge being under construction. Go through Newcastle or the non-downtown end of Portsmouth to get there. Great things about the Golden Egg that make me go their more often than any other restaurant? Large portions, simple but excellent food combinations often based on in-season foods, a staff (wait and kitchen) that love and remember their customers. They listen to us, too! I asked how long they microwave the muffins (they are frozen) because they were tough. When they told me one minute, I told them to try 25 seconds because GF breads get tough in the microwave. I've never been served a tough muffin again. Not a dedicated GF kitchen but I have never been sick after eating there. Parking is not a problem! Don't let the construction deter you! www.goldeneggrestaurant.com

These folks were among the first to dedicate a fryer for fried clams and have a GF chowder. For that I will be forever grateful. Unfortunately the quality is inconsistent. It is very noisy. It is not my first choice anymore.

Pretty good. They're careful if you ask them to be. For fantastic Mexican go to Las Olas in Exeter or Locos Cocos just over the bridge in Kittery, ME

Great price for fresh food. Pretty good variety of GF items.

About 60% gluten free without altering anything. Fabulous place. It is now my pick for a special evening out.

Most important! The owner's wife is a Celiac. Everyone here understands! Lots of variety. They advertise 70% GF and I believe that is accurate. Delicious. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that this newly remodeled restaurant is very, very noisy. Still worth it!

The Common Man is a good place for families. I'd compare it to Applebee's. In a city full of phenomenal restaurants I would never choose to go back simply because the price and quality doesn't rate compared to many other fantastic places.

Popovers is one of my favorite places because of the variety and tastiness. I can not give it five stars because the bread they use is slightly less hard than a hockey puck. In this day and age that is unforgivable. They have a number of GF sweet treats.
2048 WOODBURY AVE., NEWINGTON NH 03801
Just had my first meal there. The gluten free items choices are very limited. Only pasta sauces available are red sauces. Caesar salad was basically a mayo dressing with shaved parmesan on top. Meh. In the last 24 hours since eating their I've been very bloated. I don't know if it is related.

Very good and very expensive but not the best in a city full of fantastic restaurants.

Interesting, tasty food prepared by a careful team.

I agree with the reviewer who said there is too much flour flying in the air to be safe. Even though they prepare the pizza in a separate room, I've seen them carry the uncovered pizza by the area where they are flipping dough on the way to the oven. It tastes good, but too often is burnt.

Fantastic flavors, great prices, lunch and dinner. Informal setting. Nice staff. Most important these people understand that it is important to be careful with cross contamination!

Be very careful with GF pasta offerings. Manager told me they do not use a separate pot or strainer.
