About Me

Gluten and dairy free blogger chronicling GF/DF restaurants in Baltimore, Orlando, and beyond.

  • Ethos Vegan Kitchen

    2 starsMarch 16, 2015

601 South New York Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789

Tried the chocolate and vanilla milkshakes. They're gluten-free and vegan, but not soy free. Both are topped with whipped cream and a cherry. I liked the rich chocolate one, but couldn't finish the vanilla due to the overpowering "soy" flavor. They have limited options for gluten-free guests as pizzas/pastas are off limits. See more here:

  • Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC

    4 starsMarch 16, 2015

Pleasure Island Boat Dock, Orlando, FL 32836

All treats are gluten-free, vegan, refined sugar free, and allergen friendly. I got three cupcakes which varied in quality from great to not-so-great. Their frosting is the best I've had gluten and dairy-free. Also tried a bagel which was pretty good. See more on my blog:

  • Towson Tavern

    3 starsMarch 08, 2015

516 York Road, Towson, MD 21204

Has dedicated gluten-free menu including appetizers, salads, and entrees. I had the grilled salmon salad and lentil soup which is gluten and dairy free. Deliery offered through Order Up Towson. For more info, check out my blog here:

  • 7 West Bistro

    5 starsFebruary 15, 2015

7 West Chesapeake Avenue, Towson, MD 21204

Offers delivery service through Order Up Towson. Has a dedicated gluten-free menu and kitchen area. Was impressed that they called me mid-order to let me know one of the items wasn't safe due to cross contamination and suggested an alternative option. Most entrees can be made gluten and dairy free. My chicken souvlakia was really delicious. More info:

  • EJJI Ramen

    4 starsFebruary 08, 2015

529 East Belvedere Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21212

Ejji (pronounced "edgy") is a ramen stand inside Belvedere Square Market that, with the exception of a few offerings, is very gluten-free friendly. They have rice noodles and vegetable "noodles" to substitute for ramen. All of the broths are gluten-free and all except for the corn miso are dairy-free. The corn miso can be made without butter to make it vegan.

  • Bikes, Beans & Bordeaux

    5 starsJanuary 13, 2015

3022 Corrine Drive, Orlando, FL 32803

Cute, community cafe in Audubon Park that is themed around cycling. Has array of GF, dairy-free and vegan friendly menu options including soups, salads, sandwiches, coffee drinks and breakfast items. They use Udi's bread for sandwiches and follow strict protocols to prevent cross contamination. I had a sandwich and salad which were both great, but the real show stopper was the black bean soup, which hold its own against the best in town.

  • Leaky Cauldron - Universal Studios Orlando

    4 starsJanuary 09, 2015

6000 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32819

Allergy binder covering the top eight allergens. I am gluten and dairy free and was able to get a plain chicken sandwich with a side salad. Chef came out and met with me. Fries are not safe and neither is butterbeer :( More info on my full blog post:

  • Pho 88

    3 starsJanuary 09, 2015

730 North Mills Avenue, Orlando, FL 32803

Traditional pho restaurant in Orlando's Mills 50/Little Saigon district. I had a pork and shrimp spring roll which was nothing special and the pho ga (chicken pho) which was really good. However, service was noticeably slow and unresponsive. No GF dedicated menu, but many dishes are naturally gluten-free. For more information check out my extended review:

  • Phat Thai Cafe

    4 starsJanuary 02, 2015

606 South Hunt Club Boulevard, Apopka, FL 32704

No GF menu but all stir fries (made w/o soy sauce), curries, and pad Thai are gluten and dairy-free. Large portions for the price. I loved the tom yum soup with shrimp and spicy (not hot), complex Penang curry. Service was accommodating.

  • Cooper's Hawk

    1 starsJanuary 02, 2015

8005 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819

While Cooper's Hawk has an expansive and impressive gluten-free menu, my experience was ruined by dreadfully slow service and an inability to work with my dual dairy/gluten intolerance. They lost my confidence that my meal would be safe so I left without ordering.

  • Little Saigon

    4 starsJanuary 02, 2015

1106 East Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32803

No dedicated GF menu, but my waiter was helpful with ingredients of each dish. I stuck with the naturally gluten and dairy free pho ga (chicken noodle soup) which was delicious and and ample serving size. It's perfect on cool, dreary days and is a prime example of Orlando's Asian culinary tradition.

  • Sea Thai Restaurant

    5 starsDecember 20, 2014

3812 East Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32803

No GF marked options, but all curries are safe. Love that they have brown rice that can be swapped for white rice and that their lunch special allows me to have a curry, rice, and tom yum soup (also safe) for around $7. More info on my blog:

  • Tommy's Brick Oven Pizza

    5 starsDecember 20, 2014

4160 Southside Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246

Whenever I'm in the JAX area a stop at Tommy's is a must-do. Love that they feature "Tommy's tomato pie" that naturally comes without cheese (as I am dairy-free as well) and that care is taken to ensure that the pizzas really are gluten-free. The crusts come from Still Riding Pizza Co. and are big enough to feed 1-2 people easily. See my full review on my blog:

  • Two Boots

    5 starsDecember 19, 2014

1203 West Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217

Phenomenal gluten-free pizza. Really understand the intricacies of avoiding cross-contamination and are working hard to make sure their offerings are safe for those with a variety of allergies/sensitivities/special diets. I got the "V for Vegan" pizza w/o Daiya which features non-dairy pesto, a real treat. The crust is unlike any gluten-free pizza crust I've had so far (in a good way) and the pizza was downright delicious without breaking the bank. See my full review on my blog here:

  • Seasons Pizza

    2 starsDecember 19, 2014

40 York Road, Towson, MD 21204

Serves gluten-free pizza. Must request separate prep areas/utensils when preparing. Crust not impressive in the least and sorely lacking, but it did not make me sick and they have delivery. Full review on my blog:

  • Pho Dat Thanh

    4 starsDecember 19, 2014

510 York Road, Towson, MD 21204

No dedicated gluten-free menu but the beef broth and chicken broth based soups are safe with rice noodles. Love the massive portions and college budget friendly price tag. Had the pho ga (beef broth w/ chicken) which came with noodles, been sprouts, fresh herbs and lime. Check out the full review on my blog:

  • Sweet Theory Baking Co.

    5 starsDecember 19, 2014

1243 King Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204

Hands down some of the best gluten-free baked goods I've ever had. Enjoyed a slice of their lemon poppyseed loaf, gingerbread muffin, blueberry muffin, and gingerbread cookies. All products are vegan and most of them are gluten-free. Treats are separated to prevent cross contamination. More info in my full review on my blog:

  • Zia's Cafe and Juice Bar

    5 starsNovember 08, 2014

13 Allegheny Ave, Towson, MD 21204

Cute little cafe/juice bar in the heart of Towson's "downtown." Features sandwiches and salads for a variety of palates and offers a make-your-own option for those who just cannot decide. I had the turkey powerhouse sandwich on their raw, vegan, gluten-free wrap which was simple, yet delicious. Zia's also has an extensive juice bar and coffeehouse menu. In addition, they offer a variety raw, vegan, gluten-free, and paleo grab-and-go options such as pancakes, pudding, pastas, cheesecakes, "pizzas," juices, and salads. They are open from 9am-7pm Monday through Saturday and are a great option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For my full review (including their raw, vegan, GF mint chocolate cheesecake), check out my blog at this link:

  • Ledo Pizza

    4 starsOctober 26, 2014

3105 St Paul St, Baltimore, MD 21218

Had their new vegan pizza on their gluten-free crust. Loved how they had a menu option that came without cheese (since I have dairy intolerance) and the veggies topping the pizza were in abundance and noticeably fresh. Though not a dedicated facility, I have not had a problem yet and I react to the smallest amount of gluten. The staff were friendly. No delivery. Other gluten-free options include soups and a flatbread appetizer. For more information check out my full blog review:

  • On the Hill Cafe

    3 starsOctober 19, 2014

1431 John St, Baltimore, MD 21217

Farm-to-table neighborhood cafe serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Came for breakfast and ordered a gluten-free/vegan pumpkin spice bagel from Sweet Note Bakery along with locally-sourced scrambled eggs. The breakfast was good, but not the best I've had. See my full review on my gluten/dairy-free blog:

  • Joe Squared

    5 starsOctober 19, 2014

133 West North Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21201

Great variety of gluten-free and vegan options ranging from soups to potato skins, and salads to 22 different varieties of risotto. All varieties of risotto are gluten-free and all can be made dairy-free or vegan by subbing coconut milk for cheese or cream. For more information, check out my full review on my gluten and dairy free blog:

  • Lost City Diner

    5 starsOctober 19, 2014

    1730 N Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21201

Came to Lost City for their vegan, non-dairy milkshakes. The ice cream is locally made in small batches and is soy-based. They use a separate stirrer to prevent cross contamination. Check out my full review on my gluten/dairy free blog:

  • One Dish Cuisine Cafe, Deli & Bakery

    5 starsOctober 04, 2014

8001 Hillsborough Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21043

Dizzying array of gluten and allergen friendly fare ranging from a full restaurant and deli to a bakery. I sampled their muffins, cookies, mini loaves, and soup and cannot wait to go back for their pizza and sandwich options! Prices are reasonable and dairy containing and dairy-free items are clearly market green or blue because they operate to separate kitchens to minimize cross contamination. For a full review, check out my blog:

  • Peace A Pizza

    5 starsOctober 04, 2014

15 Mellor Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228

Great gluten-free pizza. Crusts are dairy and soy free and red sauce is dairy free. I enjoyed the vegetable primavera pizza which was loaded with fresh, delicious veggies. They have protocols in place to prevent cross-contamination. Nondairy cheese options are not available at this time. For more information, check out my blog covering this location here:

  • Sweet 27 Gluten Free Bakery and Cafe

    5 starsSeptember 30, 2014

    123 W 27th St, Baltimore, MD 21218

100% dedicated gluten free restaurant/bakery/cafe that also is very vegan, dairy-free and soy-free friendly. I sampled their crab cake appetizer and the 12" pesto vegetable pizza (the pesto is dairy-free). Both were absolutely delicious. Prices are good compared to the up-charge in prices often seen with gluten-free fare. Save room for dessert because the bakery has a tempting array of muffins, cookies, and cupcakes that are gluten-free and dairy-free as well as to-go offerings of their sandwich bread and hamburger buns. • Cheezy's Pizza & Subs

    4 starsSeptember 21, 2014

    1637 E Joppa Rd, Towson, MD 21286

12" crust comes from Still Riding Pizza and is plenty big for two people to share. They have protocols in place to prevent cross contamination. Pizzas can get pricey with toppings (mine was $20) but they offer delivery which is a little luxury rarely found. Not the absolute best pizza in the world, but definitely better than some other chains I've had. Read my full review on my blog:

  • Thai One On

    4 starsSeptember 21, 2014

    10 W Pennsylvania Ave, Towson, MD 21204

Thai One On is located near downtown Towson and has great outdoor seating (weather permitting). While the waiter seemed confused as to what was gluten/dairy free, the chef confirmed that the pad Thai, curries, and the pad pik sod. I opted for the green curry with brown rice which came in a generous portion and was very good. Read my full review on my blog:

  • ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen

    5 starsSeptember 06, 2014

1516 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20036

Entire menu is gluten and dairy free so cross-contamination is nonexistent. Choose between a rice/noodle/salad bowl and then proceed to add toppings "Chipotle-style." Loved my chicken bowl with green curry sauce, pickled vegetables and brown rice which was flavorful and fresh. They have options for vegans which are noted on their menu. Check out my full review on my blog:

  • FUEL Pizza

    4 starsSeptember 06, 2014

    1606 K St NW, Washington, DC 20006

They offer gluten-free pizzas on Smart Flour Foods pizza crust and stock Daiya and GF beers for those interested. All but three of their specialty pizzas can me made gluten-free and all ingredients (minus the meatballs) can be selected from their make-your-own menu. I found the pizza to be solid by GF standards, but not the absolute best I've had. The location is conveniently located near the White House, National Mall and the Farragut Square metro station. • Smithsonian National Zoological Park

    3 starsSeptember 01, 2014

3001 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008

While spending the day at the zoo, I stopped by their various food vendors looking for GF options. I happened to notice that the Italian Kitchen at Market Square at Panda Plaza offers a 7" gluten-free pizza for $7.50. The pizzas come in cheese, pepperoni and "specialty" and are made to order. There is an additional 10 minute wait to cook these pizzas. Given the heat of the day, I did not personally try one but thought it worth noting that there are options available.Other options around the park include bottled juices, water, fresh cut fruit, and additional food offerings (did not inquire about other options).

  • Miss Shirley's Cafe

    5 starsAugust 30, 2014

513 West Cold Spring Lane, Baltimore, MD 21210

Lured in by the promise of pancakes that were both gluten and dairy free. The pancakes were amazing and did not disappoint in the least. The portion is pretty huge so come hungry and the staff are attentive and knowledgeable about individual needs. See my full review here:

  • Phillips Seafood

    5 starsAugust 27, 2014

601 East Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD 21202

Phillips has an extensive gluten-free menu and can easily accommodate my duel dairy intolerance. • Anyestang's Little Tibet

    5 starsAugust 02, 2014

    415 East 4th Street, Bloomington, IN 47408

Portions are generous for the price and they offer delivery and carry-out. For more information, check out my blog review:

  • LaRosa's Pizzeria

    5 starsJuly 28, 2014

7691 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45236

Had a great gluten-free pizza here. Their crust and sauce do not contain dairy and the menu highlights gluten-free toppings. The pizza is big enough for one hungry person or could be split for lighter appetites. Their restaurant is GREAT kitchens accredited by the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.
