I took my two toddlers here and had the best experience!!! Not only is the ice cream delicious but the students that were working there were so knowledgable and amazing. The chocolate ice cream literally had half a scoop taken out of it but they insisted on pulling out a brand new bucket to scoop ours from. They also brought out unopened toppings for my girls as well as spoons right from the box. It is very clear that this is normal procedure here - so pleased to find a place that really understands the severity of allergies and has trained their staff so well on the importance of preventing cross contamination. I was really really impressed with how careful they were and will definitely be visiting again.

Fried seafood, french fries, chicken tenders and onion rings...all SO good and all gluten free!!! (Although the onion rings are only made gf in the slow season!) Really happy to stumble across this place on vacation!

This cute little side of the road steamed lobster shack was a must stop on our summer vacation on plum island. They have pre made seafood dinners that are pretty yummy to heat up at home and really really really good lobster and corn chowder and of course the steamed lobster was gf as well. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they were awfully expensive ($16 for a single 1.25lb steamed lobster).

Very accommodating! Lobster roll was surprisingly good on a gf bun. The gf chicken tenders and fries were a big hit with the kids.

Food wasn't great, booster seats and table was super sticky and bathrooms were gross. Those sort of things make me concerned about overall cleanliness and cross contamination. The gluten free carrot cake was the only thing good about this place.

Really great spot right in the middle of everything in downtown Newburyport. Had a completely separate and expansive gluten free menu, including dessert! and incredibly knowledgable staff (plus super child friendly!). Went a bunch of times during our week long vacation on plum island...this was our go to spot.

Love this place! Have brought my two toddlers there several times and have had a great experience every time! Great gf kids menu, unbelievable and super delicious adult gf free menu! Gf dinner rolls, gf buns, separate fryer for fries - again, love this place. Risotto is amazing!

Ted's USED to be my families "go-to" gluten free restaurant, eating there every weekend. Really great gluten free menu and with a sever allergy we felt very comfortable. We had one experience where our food came out clearly mixed with gluten items. Understanding mistakes are made we continued to be loyal customers. On our next visit we were told by one waiter that the entire gf menu was safe and then by another waiter that a few items on the exclusively gf menu was not in fact safe to eat. Then, during this same visit found that, yet again, there was clear cross contamination. I'm not certain if the management has changed or the kitchen staff but something has clearly occurred that makes me no longer trust that this particular Ted's is a safe place to for gf eaters. The good news is that there is another restaurant down on Evergreen Walk that is SO careful and has an unbelievable and expansive gluten free menu: Burton's!
