I love sushi, but it's hard to find a place in LA that has options other than regular soy sauce. California Roll & Sushi Fish offers gluten free sushi rice and tamari sauce. You still have to avoid the other sauces and crispies, but you CAN have straight up sushi and sashimi. And best of all, it's good food.

If you are worried about things like cross contamination, you really need to stay away from this place. The gluten free food tastes delicious, but the servers are barely knowledgeable. Tonight was the last straw. I had one guy (not my server) bring me a pizookie, and when I questioned him he swore it was gluten free. Then I asked him since when do gluten free pizookies not have chocolate in them, since this was a peanut butter cookie, and he took it back and brought me an under baked actual GF pizookie. I've had too many near misses from this place in the past. I cannot afford servers who don't even know what they are bringing me. I'm done with this place, and if your concern is low tolerance for gluten, you should be too.

I live in LA, and we have a Babycakes near us (same company), so when my friend asked me to pick up a couple of gf cupcakes for her wedding in Brooklyn, I knew exactly where to go. I pre-ordered a half dozen. On the day I arrived, they pulled a lovely assortment with some inventive flavors (banana with maple frosting), and I also got some churros. (So GOOD!) The staff even recommended a nearby pizza place (although it wasn't as good as I had hoped). A few hours later, the cupcakes were a little dry, which is not outside of my experience with their counterpart in LA, but that also didn't stop one girl from having three. :) A great little bakery. I recommend everything except the cupcakes. The churros were even fantastic the next day.

This place was recommended to me, because they offer gf pizza and pasta. When I asked the waitress about a gluten free menu I was told sharply they have pizza and pasta, and I was handed a regular menu. Having a strong craving for NY pizza, I foolishly got a pizza to share with my hubby. THIS IS NOT NY PIZZA. It's meat (and a smear of sauce) on cardboard. I think it might be Napoli style? Anyway, it was good enough for what it was, but I was let down a bit. Also, the waitress wasn't rude, but a bit snippy, possibly because of a large party in the corner. Still, I probably won't return.

Gluten free options are labeled on the menu and easily found. Decent selection. Many vegan options, too, if you have dairy issues. Honestly, I would have preferred less vegan options, because I like meat, and according to our waiter, they are working on going fully vegan. But the pasta was good, and they had a small reserve of real Parmesan cheese in the back, so I was happy. I had to mix some water into my ginger ale, though. It's house-made and VERY strong.

This establishment is not only gluten free, it's practically Paleo/Primal (there are some dairy and some sweeteners, but minimal use of both), and everything is well labeled. Staff is very knowledgeable. Friends, you have the entire menu to choose from! Go and enjoy! Even my hubby, who has no dietary restrictions and eats like a bachelor when I'm not around, loved what he got. Definitely returning the next time I'm in NYC. Also: try the roasted pineapple. OMG! So good. If these guys put out a cookbook, I'm getting it.

Wait staff is knowledgeable and can tell you all the ingredients in their dishes. They don't have a separate menu, but do offer a wide gf selection. I recommend the picannha, if you like seasoned steak; it's my favorite Brazilian dish, and they do it justice here. Decent selection of desserts also. Will definitely return the next time I'm in NYC.

This place is serviceable. The selection is fairly small. Be sure to ask for a manager to make sure the kitchen staff know to cook things separately. The food was good. Not great, but good. This place will do, if you're stuck and need someplace to eat. The video games were fun, but overpriced.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and you get a full menu of gluten free options. I had the pot roast, which was delicious. They even have a scrumptious gluten free bread pudding for dessert. Next time I'm in NYC, I'm definitely going back!

Great for grab-n-go Asian style food. The entire facility is gluten-free. They make their own sauces in house, and the noodles and wrappers, I believe, are made with rice. And when you're done, everything, down to the box the food came in, is either recyclable or compostable. They don't even offer a trashcan. They offer 4-6 meat choices, a few noodle and rice options, sauces, toppings, lots of veggies. You can build your own box or you can choose of their pre-built combinations. I love this place for its convenience and fast/healthy food.

This salad shop offers all of their salad dressings, fixings and soups gluten free. Their web site has a breakdown of allergens, in case you are worried about soy or dairy. I order from them frequently throughout the week, and I have never had symptoms after. The staff is very friendly, and if you are clear that you have an allergy, they are very careful.

VERY happy with this place. They have a separate GF menu and are very clear about how to order their items to be safe. Staff are knowledgable and helpful. Highly recommend.

Their GF menu has been drastically reduced and the staff are not knowledgable about cross-contamination. Not worth it, if you're at all sensitive.

Pub food. AND! Almost everything on the food menu is available gluten free, and it is all delicious. My favorites are the "Totchos" (Tater tots with nacho toppings) and the GF House Specialty Mac N Cheese, with bacon and carmelized onions.I live nearby and eat here about once a week and have never had symptoms. They take good care. I totally recommend them!

They may not have much that is GF, but what they do offer is AWESOME. With the exception of their fish and chips, all of their buckets of seafood are available GF (with slight alterations) and DELICIOUS. They also have a corn-chips-and-salsa bar, which is terrific.
1023 4th Ave, San Diego, CA 92101
They have a decent enough selection of GF options, and all if their food is delicious. What impressed me, though, was that my brand new husband and I mentioned we were on our honeymoon when we walked in, and our waiter brought us a GF dessert to wish us happy anniversary. We were impressed that he remembered to make sure it actually was GF.
