  • Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint

    3 starsNovember 23, 2014

2052 Town Center Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37921

Very good pizza! That being said, this location, after asking if your dietary needs are allergy or preference, the staff will further press you for more details. As a diagnosed Celiac sufferer for many years, I understand the importance of these details, and I have an such an appreciation for it. However, I feel berated by the interrogation they put you through. There's often a long line and you might as well announce with a megaphone your medical conditions after the line of questioning they impose. The corporate office needs to train the staff to just go ahead and take all the appropriate precautions when someone says yes to the allergy question and no to it just being a matter of preference. I appreciate the diligence they're trying to put forth, but not everyone will feel comfortable putting the nuanced details of their medical diagnoses on display just to order a pizza when they've already expressed they need it to be made free of any cross-contamination.

Our favorite local store! Love knowing whatever I buy from the bakery is safe to eat. All the goods they sell are GF, and they offer so many other types of allergy friendly foods.

Great GF options! We stop here every time we travel through. In fact, we go out of our way to make sure we travel through when we're in the area. Worth it!

  • Olive Garden

    1 starsDecember 24, 2013

I mean, it's the Olive Garden, people. You shouldn't have dined here even before you found out you were gluten intolerant. All of the food is pre-packaged and just warmed up. And poorly.

  • Aubrey's

    3 starsDecember 22, 2013

481 South Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830

They have a gf menu and gf buns for sandwiches (although they are definitely not homemade as one reviewer says.) Food is fine most of the time.

  • Abuelo's

    2 starsDecember 13, 2013

11299 Parkside Dr, Knoxville, TN 37934

This is ok most of the time. They do have a gf menu, and most of the servers we've had have an awareness of the gf menu. They will bring out baked chips on request. We seem to keep going there anyways until we noticed a pattern: we always order the chicken nuggets for our son, and a few times they have come out raw in the middle. Um, gross. After a few occasions of that we stopped going.

  • J.T. Hannah's Kitchen

Food was okay. Came out super quick on a busy night which is surprising for burgers - think maybe they are pre-cooked burgers. They do have yummy GF buns. Celebrated oldest child's birthday there while passing through and he enjoyed it and had fun.

  • Apple Barn Restaurant

    2 starsDecember 09, 2013

20 Apple Valley Rd, Sevierville, TN 37862

Feel like our experience was an exception. Waiter said we couldn't order any veggies in our omelet because brunch was over, which just sounded so strange. Ate a plain omelet with cheese which wasn't that great, and never got glass of OJ that I ordered. Surely they have other stuff that's better though. Would give it one more shot.

  • Don Gallo Mexican Grill

    3 starsDecember 09, 2013

10681 Hardin Valley Rd, Knoxville, TN 37932

I've got mixed feelings here. I've gotten a few dishes here that were really good, and then I got the fajitas, that LOOKED AMAZING, but had ZERO taste. I mean, these were the best looking fajitas I've ever seen in my life, and I've seen lots of fajitas, for real. Thing is, they tasted like NOTHING. Literally. They tasted like that empty place in your heart where you keep the sadness. I would go there again (but not order the fajitas).

  • Red Bicycle Coffee & Crepes

Love love love. Make it a point to eat here every time we're in NashVegas. ANY crepe can be made GF, and everyone who works there is always friendly. Love the vibe as well. The maple, bacon, and apple crepe was my favorite, but last time the bacon seemed yucky and an employee mentioned they recently changed bacon, and in my opinion that dish may not be as amazingly awesome as it once was. There is just so much delicioso at this little place! A must-go for sure!!

  • Figo Pasta

  • Lemon Grass Thai Cuisine and Sushi Bar

    2 starsDecember 09, 2013

9117 Executive Park Dr, Knoxville, TN 37923

This place was curious. No GF menu, but the manager went over the entire menu with us and pointed out what was GF, which was most of it. I didn't really care for what I ordered. It felt like we were there forever. We were the only ones in there and it took like 2 hours to get out of there. For lunch. Also they have little signs up and down the street advertising discount sushi. That sounds like a good idea.

Ch-Chang! Love it. As far as chain restaurants go, this is one of the best. Plenty of GF options. One time we went there, the dining room smelled gross. Hasn't stopped me from going back, though.

  • A Matter of Taste

    3 starsDecember 09, 2013

1100 Fatherland Street, Nashville, TN 37206

We really wanted to love this place. The whole menu is gluten free and they offer non-GF items too. Quaint storefront and good-looking catering menu. Staff was kind and the locals that pop in for lunch seem to really enjoy it. We just didn't love the dishes we ordered. I think our whole family ordered turkey sandwiches, so maybe it was just our menu choice. Seems worth visiting if you haven't.

  • Mad Donna's

    2 starsDecember 09, 2013

1313 Woodland St, Nashville, TN 37206

This place was a little weird. I had a burger and it was AWESOME. Spouse had a sweet potato burrito that was not awesome although it theoretically sounded good. Service was spotty but the staff apologized authentically for leaving us sitting for 15 minutes before acknowledging us. Also -apparently they host some sort of drag queen bingo game in their upstairs area, which was surprising to find when arriving with children. Didn't realize it was more like a venue/bar that also serves food.

  • The Pfunky Griddle

    1 starsDecember 09, 2013

This place is kinda gross. Food was fine, if you enjoy eating inside of a dumpster. Wear disposable clothes if you go. You WILL stink like an oily rag when you are through. That being said, they DO have GF pancakes. Still, if you are an able-bodied adult, who enjoys cleanliness, this may not be your thing.
