They were nice but didn't know what celiacs disease was. They also told me they grill the burgers and buns on the same grill. Not worth the severe risk of cross contamination.

They served me fried wonton even after I called ahead, grilled them on how they protect against cross contamination, and ordered off the gluten free menu. I will be sick for a month. CELIACS BEWARE!!!

  • Bee Bop Burgers

    5 starsJanuary 24, 2015

Great GF clam chowder, and I didn't get sick! They also have gluten free burgers and understand cross contamination.

  • Maggie's on the Prom

    1 starsJanuary 24, 2015

    581 S Prom, Seaside, OR 97138

They cook everything on the same grill where they toast the buns for burgers. The very nice owner told me that they have no plans to ever change their setup. Not safe for Celiacs :(

  • Daily Grill

    3 starsJanuary 08, 2015

750 SW Alder St, Portland, OR 97205

They use shared equipment to cook their food, but at least they were up front about it. I didn't end up eating, just had a drink.

  • The Sonora Grill

    2 starsJanuary 02, 2015

Our server really struggled- she told me they "cleaned off" the grill, and then asked me if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. Celiacs: be VERY careful here.

  • Cutters Crabhouse

    1 starsDecember 13, 2014

2001 Western Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121

There are only 3 gf options for lunch and none of them are crab. Also, the hostess was clearly irritated with my questions. I left hungry, feeling incredibly unwelcome. Finally, they do not have any dedicated equipment or prep space. Not celiac friendly.

  • Spork Bend

    1 starsNovember 26, 2014

Nice people, but I was informed that they use shared equipment to make all their food. Not celiac friendly- only for the socially gluten free :)

  • Mutt's Amazing Hot Dogs

Cool vibe- I didn't think I'd find a diner on Route 66 where I could safely eat, but I was wrong! Mutt's Amazing Hot Dogs made my trip! Thanks!

  • Red Bicycle Coffee & Crepes

    1 starsNovember 03, 2014

    1200 5th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208

They use the same equipment for their "gluten free" crepes as they do for their regular crepes. The girl told me they "sanitize" the pans and looked at me blankly when I tried to explain that gluten is not bacteria. Celiacs beware!!

  • Germantown Cafe

    1 starsNovember 03, 2014

    1200 5th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208

Limited menu and questionable training. They brought me a steak salad after I ordered and said I couldn't have the dressing, so just brought plain oil and vinegar. I didn't feel safe and it wasn't what I ordered so we left, but they still charged me full price for the salad I didn't eat! They have one server who understands celiac but other than her, these people don't get it. Celiacs beware.

  • Five Guys

    1 starsOctober 24, 2014

ALL of the condiments are cross contaminated. I watched three people make a burger on a bun and then stick their hands right into the bowl of pickles, lettuce, and onions. Celiacs beware.

Food was bland- we left. Unfortunately, something in the four bites I took got me sick. The manager was very nice, however.

  • PURE Organic Juicery

    1 starsAugust 21, 2014

100 South Cook Street, Barrington, IL 60010

Their "gluten free" caramel brownies got me really sick. And they have wheatgrass everywhere. I know it is the grain that contains gluten, but the potential for cross contamination is just way too high. Celiacs stay away.

  • Heaven on Seven

    1 starsAugust 16, 2014

    224 S Main St, Naperville, IL 60540

When I asked the manager how they protect against cross contamination he said "what do you mean, cross contamination?" That answer is usually my cue to leave a restaurant, but the reviews on this app convinced me to give it a shot. I shouldn't have- the food tasted good, but I still got sick. Celiacs stay away.

  • Little Goat Diner

  • Bien Trucha Inc

  • The Atrium Cafe at Little Traveler

  • Wise Guys Pizzeria

    2 starsApril 11, 2014

325 Randall Rd, South Elgin, IL 60177

Amazing gluten free pizza, but their staff were not well trained and couldn't answer my questions without going back to ask the manager. When I asked to speak to the manager myself, they refused (twice) even when I said I would be happy to wait.

  • Colonial Cafe

    1 starsApril 11, 2014

552 Randall Rd, St Charles, IL 60174

They use the same grill to make pancakes and toast that they use to make the sausage and bacon. I had to explain that would cause cross contamination- and the server and the manager had never heard of cross contamination. Not safe for Celiacs.

  • L'Eiffel Bistrot & Creperie

    1 starsMarch 12, 2014

100 Higgins Road Q-1, South Barrington, IL 60010

Celiacs BEWARE! They use the same pans to make their "gluten free" crepes as they do their regular ones. The host told me that was fine because the "heat and stuff" would kill the gluten. For those of you who don't know- gluten is not like bacteria- it isn't destroyed by heat. Thought maybe the wait staff and were maybe untrained, I asked to speak with the chef and they refused. They were uneducated about food allergies and rude about it at the same time. This place is NOT safe for anyone with food allergies. Stay away.
