About Me

I do not celiac disease, but I am intolerant of gluten. I am from a small city, and would like to share the gluten free restaurant options I have found. I do not recommend these options, however, for someone with serious allergies or intolerances of gluten.

Reviews

  • Pizza To Go

    5 starsJuly 15, 2014

    31 W Commercial St, Willits, CA 95490

Thin crust gluten free pizza like most gluten free doughs, but well cooked! The sauce here is very good. This place really cares about their customers and the taste of the food.

  • Brookfields Restaurant

    5 starsJune 21, 2014

11135 Folsom Blvd, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670

This place has friendly staff and great food. They offer Udi's gluten free bread and buns for burgers. The breakfast potatoes are 100% potato. Unfortunately, the kitchen does not have a dedicated gluten free area, but the staff are extremely helpful with menu ingredients, etc.

  • Ruby's Diner

    3 starsMarch 30, 2014

1640 Camino Del Rio N, San Diego, CA 92108

Your typical diner food, located at the mall. Nothing is made in it's own gluten free area in the kitchen, so I don't recommend this place to people with severe gluten allergies.

  • Red Bowl Asian Bistro

    4 starsMarch 01, 2014

1110 N China Lake Blvd, Ridgecrest, CA 93555

Red Bowl offers a Revolution Diet menu. The selections on this menu are made without breading, MSG, oil, or cornstarch. I have tried both the Lemon Flavored Chicken and the Chicken and Water Chestnuts (which is orange flavored). These selections are a little pricey for Ridgecrest, but if you are looking for Asian-American food, these are great options.

  • Lugo's Grill

    3 starsMarch 01, 2014

    908 N Norma St, Ridgecrest, CA 93555

Lugo's offers gluten free corn tortilla chips while waiting to order. The salsa is not bad, and the Mexican food selections have not hurt my stomach any time I've eaten there; just be sure you ask for corn tortillas. The restaurant orders the corn tortillas from a place in Los Angeles. They make the chips from the tortillas, and they are quite good. The tacos are similar to street tacos, but not quite as good. The kitchen staff are very friendly. The restaurant also offers American food, including breakfast lunch and dinner. The salads are good; just ask for no croutons.

  • Albertsons

    5 starsMarch 01, 2014

927 S China Lake Blvd, Ridgecrest, CA 93555

This Albertsons store offers a small selection of gluten free products near the bread and canned fruit section (by the produce). Selections include bread, crackers, and cereal, as well as other products that rotate in and out.

  • Albertsons

    3 starsMarch 01, 2014

    1301 N Norma St, Ridgecrest, CA 93555

This Albertsons store offers a small selection of gluten free products near the microwave popcorn and nuts. Selections include bread, crackers, and cereal, as well as other products that rotate in and out.

  • Domino's

    3 starsMarch 01, 2014

856 N China Lake Blvd, Ridgecrest, CA 93555

For a quick gluten free pizza, Domino's is great. The dough is actually better than the dough offered at some higher-end pizza restaurants. The gluten free dough, however, does come in contact with the regular dough preparation areas; when ordering pizza online, the restaurant does provide a disclaimer of this. They say this to you when ordering over the phone or at the counter as well.

  • Pure Healing Foods

    3 starsMarch 01, 2014

890 N China Lake Blvd, Ridgecrest, CA 93555

Pure Healing Foods offers gluten free bagels with a spread for breakfast, and gluten free bagel sandwiches for lunch. They also offer a gluten free pizza for $13.50, which is a little pricey in my book. The staff is very friendly, but the service is a bit slow. There are some gluten free products for sale, such as pop-tarts, Udi's bread, and some crackers.
