My favorite breakfast place! Gluten free toast, pancakes, waffles, homefries. The staff is so friendly. One morning they made me special gluten free pumpkin pancakes, delicious! Ask for pure maple syrup! The Herbivore fold is my other favorite. Busy on the weekends but totally worth the wait.

  • Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant

    2 starsJune 25, 2014

257 Low Street, Newburyport, MA 01950

Went in a couple weeks ago and had a chance to talk to the owner. They have great food and pasta made in house, but because of that the kitchen environment is not at all safe for Celiacs. Flour is flying around in the air throughout food prep so risk of cross contamination is really high.

  • Lexie's on State

    4 starsMay 04, 2014

88 State Street, Newburyport, MA 01950

Gluten free buns available! If you have celiac, ask them NOT to grill your bun to avoid cross contamination. The fries are safe. Great prices, fresh ingredients.

  • The Jewel In The Crown

    5 starsMay 04, 2014

23 Pleasant St, Newburyport, MA 01950

Nearly every single entree is naturally gluten free. Food is fresh and delicious, and you cannot beat the prices. The waiter was very knowledgable about the ingredients in all the food. Their fryers are not safe for people with celiac, the owner recommends that you stay away from all appetizers because most of them are fried, and obviously the naan is off limits.

  • Acapulco's

    3 starsMarch 02, 2014

88 Macy Street, Amesbury, MA 01913

Our waitress was great. Very knowledgable about what had gluten in it. But the food has seriously gone downhill. I had the shrimp fajitas with corn tortillas. The veggies were mushy and greasy and the shrimp were rubbery and flavorless. Also, BEWARE, the rice is made with a chicken base that contains wheat!

  • The Natural Grocer

    5 starsFebruary 27, 2014

334 High St, Newburyport, MA 01950

This is a great little grocery store. They make fresh baked goods everyday that are displayed in their front window, many of them gluten free. They also have great vegan options. In the back of the store there is a counter where you can order custom sandwiches and salads. They also have a great variety of prepared foods, many of which are gluten free. In their grocery section they have a great selection of gluten free breads, pastas and other items. Beautiful produce selection as well!

  • Latitude 43

    5 starsFebruary 11, 2014

25 Rogers St, Gloucester, MA 01930

Great gluten free sushi selection and they have gf tamari. My favorite is the scallop ceviche roll. Different and delicious. California roll with rainbow sashimi on top is fantastic because they use REAL crab meat.

  • Alchemy Cafe and Bistro

    2 starsFebruary 11, 2014

3 Duncan St, Gloucester, MA 01930

Beware, their gluten free menu that is online is not available anymore. The no longer keep a dedicated gluten free fryer so their appetizers are off limits. Salads are good, and you can order gluten free sushi from Latitude 43, next door.

Any of their wraps and burritos can be made into bowls/salads. Fresh ingredients and creative combinations! So delicious. I got the Yam I Am burrito as a salad and it was huge and amazing.

Great Thai restaurant, across the street from The Tannery. Gorgeous location on the water. Full gluten free menu and knowledgable staff. Not a lot of appetizer options but I love their soups and pad thai! It's my go to lunch spot.

  • Agave Mexican Bistro

Lots of menu items are naturally gluten free! Tortilla chips are great, and the shredded beef flautas (taquitos). Staff are knowledgable. They also have three great bar areas with awesome margaritas!

  • Tendercrop Farm

    5 starsJanuary 08, 2014

108 High Rd, Newbury, MA 01951

Gluten free products are expensive no matter where you go, so you should get used to the sticker shock. They have great gluten free breads and desserts from local bakeries. Tendercrop raises their own live stock - their housemade sausages are gluten free and DELICIOUS.
