Wow. This place is great. I liked it in my Pre-Celiac days, love it now. Most Mexican food is gluten free but often language and cross-contamination are issues. No problem here. The waiter pointed out the few things I could not order. He supplied the traditional queso dia on a corn tortilla (ask in case) and told me that the chips and salsa were gluten free. The rest of my meal, Taco, Enchilada, Rice and Beans, were served quickly and deliciously. The bill was less than $10. The food, price, service and ambiance (this place is beautiful) were way better than Chipolte. Upon my asking, remaining chips and salsa were packed for later enjoyment. Best of all, I did not get sick!

I gave one star because you can’t give less! This is more a warning than a review. I called ahead and then asked again at the restaurant about gluten-free and cross-contamination. All staff answered in a confident manner that they could accommodate my requests, since most of their food was by its nature gluten-free. Cross-contamination proved to be another issue. With the server’s advice, I ordered the mixed grill, with just the chicken and steak and without the kofia, which, I was advised, contains bread. Our friends ordered the standard mixed grill. My guess is they were prepared together and later the kofia was separated. I started suspecting I was getting sick when the dessert arrived, a stack of Baklawa pastry surrounded by fruit. Clearly the staff is only partially informed, and this is not a safe place to eat.

Pizza is constantly good. Cost twice as much as Uno's two for one deal, but my wife and I think it's worth it. Haven't gotten sick once.

If you are actually Gluten-Free, and not just with it and happening, DON’T EAT HERE! I would have given zero stars if that was an option. This place advertizes gluten-free bread and they do seem to have it. Otherwise there is nothing to recommend about this place. The staff was not knowledgeable. The preparer went to put my bread in the regular toaster. When I questioned this the response was unpleasant, and the woman taking my order told the preparer to use the other toaster. When I asked if that toaster (which was under the counter) was used for other bread, she told me, “No.” When I asked if it had ever been used for other bread, she told me that it hadn’t been used at all for several months. When I asked if it had been used at that time for other bread, she indicated that it had. I cancelled my order. No apology and no apparent understanding of the problem on the part of the staff.

This diner has been progressing in their gluten free offerings. They now have Pizza, Wraps and Buns. Some of the staff is knowledgeable, and the rest try really hard to please. They are willing to adapt anything on the menu. If there is any question, ask for the manager, he’s great. They even prepared fries for us in fresh oil separately, and well done! The burgers are top notch, and, of course, it’s always nice to have a bun! The buns are Udi-like, but larger than the ones I get at the supermarket. You do have to be aware. The first burger I got I didn’t know they had buns, so I ordered no bun. When the waitress brought it, I pointed out that while there was no bun, there were 3 beautiful fried onion rings on my burger. She was very embarrassed and very accommodating, quickly agreeing to my request for a whole new plate. I really like this place, and I’m sure they’ll get better at it. In any case, I’ve eaten there three times, and I haven’t got sick once.

I am updating my review because they have closed, and then reopened their café. They are again offering gluten free bread, and by implication, gluten free food. Although I had gotten sick here in the past, I was optimistic that with the new café would come new care with food preparation. Not so much. I explained to the server about my extreme sensitivity to gluten, emphasizing the need to avoid cross contamination, and she indicated her understanding, offering me Chia bread. I asked if this was Udi’s, and she said it was. While waiting for my tuna melt, I poked around the store and found that they carried Sami’s Chia bread. Sami uses gluten free ingredients, but shared equipment, and this is what I had gotten sick on in the past. I went back to the kitchen, and sure enough, that’s what they were preparing to use. I registered my complaint and the other preparer suggested Ezekiel’s gluten free bread. I was surprised to hear the they had a gluten free bread and went out to the freezer with the preparer to see it. It was not gluten free, and the preparer said she thought since it was organic that it was okay. I asked if they could use the Rudi’s gluten free bread in the freezer and she agreed to do so. I again asked about cross contamination. She said she didn’t want to “burst my bubble,” but they did not have a gluten free kitchen, and she advised that I not eat there. I suggest you take her advice. I did. I ate in a nearby Wendy’s with good results. Really, I can trust a Wendy’s and not a health food store café?

Be sure to let the person know that you are "gluten sensitive" and not just with it and happening! They then take special care to avoid cross contamination, even delivering it to the cashier remarking that this is “gluten free.” The sandwich I had was roast beef and Swiss with roasted peppers and onions and mustard. It was semi-pani style, but not pressed. The “bread” was dark and huge. The slices were about ¾ of an inch thick. Cost was $8, a little more than I wanted to spend, but the serving was generous. The weather was nice, so I was able to sit outside and eat. In colder or wetter weather you’d have to do to go. There was no indoor setting. Most importantly, I didn’t get sick.

Very nice lodging south of Ithaca, NY. Patti is gluten free herself, so the breakfast was stress free. A nice omelet of fresh eggs and organic cheese served with fruit (a nice ripe peach, theirs and organic, mango and cantaloupe), Udi’s toast with fruit conserves, orange juice, fingerling potatoes with their fresh organic herbs and decaf coffee. All delicious, and I did not get sick.

The server was pleasant and knowledgeable. I had the Eggplant Manicotti which came with Penne Pasta. It was delicious. My salad, a $2.50, with the lime vinaigrette was also very nice. The meatballs were small, rubbery and not very tasty. I did not get sick. Still five stars, just don’t order the meatballs.

The server seemed to understand about gluten free, and upon request, changed her gloves. Then, when informing the next server on the assembly line that I was gluten free and required clean gloves, she absentmindedly put a wheat tortilla in to be warmed, and then put my corn tacos in a plate. When I pointed this out, she at first denied a problem, and then acquiesced to my request that she again change her gloves. No apology. The shredded beef for the taco was very wet, which resulted in a soggy taco that fell apart. This place was not cheap and the service and food quality should be better.

This was a return visit. Had the pastrami reuben with fries on my way North on 95, and chicken parmesan with pasta on the way South on 95. Not only worth stopping, worth planning your trip around it! Staff is great and careful. Haven’t got sick once.

Wow. So much fun. You can have anything, and it’s all good. As soon as walked in I had a blueberry muffin. I had meatloaf with marinara sauce and mozzarella on onion dill bread. My wife had grilled cheddar on tomato herb. We brought home sour cream coffee cake, blueberry corn muffins, Italian croutons, onion dill and whole grain breads, and four kinds of cupcakes. We are still enjoying this stuff. There are no apologies needed. It’s just really good, not just good for gluten free. Most importantly, I haven’t got sick once.

We knew that breakfast was included in our stay, but dinner (Mon-Thurs) was a surprise. I was doubtful about being able to eat, but foods were kept very separate and the kitchen staff were all very accommodating, knowledgeable and pleasant. I was able to eat breakfast sausage, several kinds of scrambled eggs (varied by the day) and even egg, cheese and ham or sausage breakfast sandwiches (prepared for me without the bread!). Dinner included a small, but very fresh, salad bar with Ken’s dressings and no croutons. I was able to eat 3 out of 4 nights (pulled pork with corn tortillas, hamburgers no bun and chicken cutlets). The staff was happy to show me food packaging with ingredient lists. Coffee, decaf and tea were available any time. Dinner included red or white wine. All a happy surprise and over the course of five days I didn’t get sick once.

Attractive, pleasant restaurant. Knowledgeable, helpful staff. Gluten free pasta available. I had a spinach salad with locally prepared hot (spicy) honey pecans and goat cheese. I had the pizza, which was a typical gluten free crust (that's why only 4 stars), but with excellent toppings and sauce. I didn't get sick. I'll go back.

Franco and his wife have made it a project to make great gluten-free pizza and entrees. The pizza is great (considering, of course!). I just went to a Birthday Party there for a friend. I had salad with balsamic dressing at the table and chicken fiancée, sausage and peppers and a delicious steak dish from the buffet, all made carefully gluten-free because they had been forewarned about my dietary restrictions. Franco brought a huge bowl of gluten-free spaghetti and sauce to me at the table. A very nice guy and a terrific chef!
