I got take out here on my way home from a long drive, and it was phenomenal. I am super sensitive- can't have gluten, dairy, or even canola/corn oil and they accommodated everything perfectly. I spoke with a few folks on the phone to ask questions, and everything came out so fresh, so delicious, sooooo allergy-friendly. Highly recommend.

Puritan & Co features a seasonally appropriate, locally-sourced menu. I was able to have my food not only gluten free, but also dairy-free and canola/soy/corn/veggie oil-free as well. (They subbed for extra virgin olive.) Having called ahead, the manager stopped at my table to joke about putting "extra corn and gluten on everything" and went on to explain how his girlfriend has allergies and they've had to navigate restaurants with care. Waiters, staff and everybody were very knowledgeable and accommodating!

They put butter in all of their grass fed beef (and do not make this info easily available) so as someone who needs to be gluten and dairy-free, I could maybe have a salad here. Maybe.

These people are incredible. Grain- and refined sugar-free CUPCAKES??! You can even order their goods online at http://www.backontract.com/ HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Love this place. Accommodate gluten and dairy-free. They've even made me special gluten-free onion rings when the restaurant wasn't busy ;)

I've eaten here twice. Once I did not get sick, and once I definitely did. I'm also dairy-free, so it could have been dairy cross-contamination. First visit, the server said the frier is dedicated gluten-free. Another visit, was told it was not. I don't like the inconsistency. Wouldn't recommend, especially during busy times.

These people are amazing- the employees will take several minutes to wash scoops before even serving me. Owners are so friendly, Fomu is competent with many allergies. Can't say enough good about them.

Got sick. Doesn't help that I'm also allergic to dairy, and my parents insist on going out to eat. This place does NOT have a dedicated gf frier and STILL lists fried items on the gluten free menu. No thanks.

Options can be limited, and the gf pizza crust is no good. But the other food is great and they have a dedicated gf frier. Sweet potato fries are a must.

  • Good Health Natural Foods

Independently owned natural food stores deserve more credit. I learned from a man working here that Whole Foods was the cause of Allcaneat gluten-free bakery going out of business. Good Health has several aisles of specifically gluten-free fare, as well as practically anything else your heart desires.

While this restaurant has a gluten free menu, they do not use dedicated cooking oil for fries- and yet they're still on the gf menu!! My waitress was knowledgeable about ingredients and patient with me. I ordered the pulled pork (under the "sandwiches" section even though they don't have gluten free buns), but still got sick. I was really disappointed because the pork was delicious.

I used to love Fiores, but now whenever I eat here I get poisoned. I still believe they can make safe desserts if you order ahead of time.

Went for late-night menu, realized I couldn't eat a thing but enjoyed my gin drink. Will return for lunch or dinner because otherwise their menu looks not bad.

Their gf options are limited (especially at lunch), but their house-fermented rice pizza crust was SO like the real thing, I could've sworn I was poisoning myself by eating it (but I didn't)!

  • Veggie Galaxy

My waitress got confused when I asked about their vegan cheese, but the food was good and they have safe french fries!

  • The Purple Cactus

Burrito bowls are gluten free, and their corn chips are as well.

  • Vee Vee

    5 starsMarch 24, 2012

763 Centre St, Boston, MA 02130

Vee Vee has been a favorite spot of mine since before I ate gluten and dairy free. Small, ever changing menu because everything is cooked to order and seasonal (it's amazing). Totally knowledgeable waiters and staff. All the food is incredible and my waiter even joked, "with extra couscous" when he presented my gluten free meal, illustrating he was allergen-aware enough to even make the joke. Pricy, but for excellent quality, and on Wednesdays they offer a vegan prixe fixe.

I love The Otherside. Not only are they gluten allergy-friendly, but they have vegan and vegetarian options as well! A rare find.
