About Me

I not only have to eat GF, I teach others. I have been a ServSafe Food Safety instructor of about 10 years and I am also certified in allergy awareness from NEHA and ServSafe. I work with companies as a certified HACCP manager and consult with the NFCA (National Foundation for Celiac Awareness).

100% gluten free and the food is good. The portions are small and the prices are a bit hifh for the serving size, but it is a nice place for an occasional meal.

  • Mary Mac's Tea Room

This is an Atlanta landmark and with a GF menu they can accommodate everyone in your group. The food is Southern and tasty. There are plenty of GF options available from the GF menu. Some servers understand allergies better than others, but that is true anywhere you go. If you are in Atlanta, it is worth a visit.

It's delicious and reasonably priced. They do a great job and since almost everything is naturally gluten free cross contamination in preparation is nearly impossible.

the staff aren't trained in allergy awareness and only dinner items seem to be on the gluten free list which makes for an expensive lunch.

They have an allergen list to help you make an informed decision. However, don't expect any educated assistance from the staff. They are not trained in allergy awareness. I eat here only because it is better than not eating at all.

It was so good we have eaten here 2 nights in a row. The owner, Natasha, visited our table personally to go over menu options. Wonderful gluten free meal. The chef made special adjustments as needed. It was delicious too. Best meal I've had so far in SF.

Hopefully my case is unique. They seem to have no comprehension of the requirementa of a medically necessary gluten free diet. I only ordered items from the GF menu and made sure they knew of my severe reactions. I was sick before leaving the restaurant and missed work the next day. The food was good, but definitely not safe for those of us requiring true byliten free

  • Saba Restaurant and Bar

Wonderful family-friendly restaurant. Great weekend brunch and wonderful Italian inspired cuisine. They have different GF pastas to choose from and the house made potato chips are fantastic (dedicated fryer!)

  • Mellow Mushroom

    5 starsApril 05, 2012

931 Monroe Drive, Atlanta, GA, 30308

As a certified food safety professional that happens to be gluten free, I have a hard time finding pizza that I can trust. I have spoken with people in the stores and at a corporate level with Mellow Mushroom and find them to be knowledgeable and careful with GF customers. They use GF cornmeal rather than wheat flour for dusting and they have a system in place to reduce the risk of cross-contamination when making a GF pizza. Mellow Mushroom is tasty, reasonably priced and safe for the Celiac to eat. I love it.

  • Outback Steakhouse

    5 starsApril 05, 2012

655 Crossville Rd., Roswell, GA 30075

I live in Atlanta, work in the food service industry as a food safety educator/consultant and I am gluten-free. I drive past 2 other Outback locations to drive nearly 20 miles to visit this Outback. They have an extended GF menu and a staff that is well versed in the nuances of cross-contamination. They also have a dedicated fryer and all my gluten eating friends say that a Gluten Free Bloomin' Onion is much tastier than regular one.
