THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED. (PREVIOUS REVIEW) Awesome candy store (with a GF candy list), but with a surprise luncheon cafe in the back. Small but delightful menu of sandwiches, wraps, salads and personal pizzas, with daily homemade soups. A mainly GF kitchen, with an eye to safety and special care to control any potential cross contamination. Besides great lunches, the chef's specialties are her GF baked desserts, from faux Twinkies (!), beautifully decorated cupcakes, macarons, cookies, caramel nut bars, and more. An adorable small cozy spot and a very happy place to just "be". This place is really a swell & special gift to us GF folks! Chef's sister has celiac, so she really "gets" it!

A great and fun spot, popular with tourists and locals - with a GF menu that includes Pamela's GF Waffles made on dedicated waffle irons. The GF menu, itself, is limited, but they are very conscientious about what is and is not GF in terms of ingredients - and they can do sandwiches on GF bread, if desired.

Yes, this restaurant has a good sense of humor about their name. Located on the non-touristy side of Auburn - and well worth a visit. While they do not have a GF menu, our servers were quite knowledgable about gluten. Most of the Pho's are GF (rice vermicelli), as are the Spring Rolls (in rice paper). Many of the stir-fried dishes are made with soy sauce, hoisin or oyster sauce, so they are not GF - but others are done with fish sauce (GF) only. They are happy to answer any questions in detail about ingredients - and I did get the impression that they would work with you on other dishes, if Pho isn't your thing. Some of the best beef Pho I've ever had, GF or no.

It's a busy place, and no dedicated GF menu, but all servers we spoke with seem very savvy about what is GF. They will toast GF bread, if you wish - in a pan, rather than a common toaster. However, why order anything as mundane as toast, when optional sides include amazing pan-fried potatoes (GF) and local perfectly-ripened fruit. If you tell them you are super-sensitive to gluten, they will be sure to "tag" your order in the kitchen, to take special care. I had an Ortega Chili omelet, which included avocado, cheese and onions (and at least a half can of Ortega chiles!) ... it was out of this world -- and was big enough for both my breakfast and dinner, later on. Do note that they take cash only -- though they do have an ATM machine on the premises (for a $2 addl charge to get cash). It gets busy, so you might want to call ahead to ask about the wait.

GF heaven on earth! EXCELLENT GF menu (indeed, almost everything on the regular menu is GF) ... and very excellent food. A fusion of Caribbean and Tex-Mex -- with amazingly creative dishes, including grilled shrimp tacos with creamy remolaud sauce (GF), and made-from-scratch habanero chili sauce on the table (GF). Was told the sous chef has celiac, which made me very confident of the safety here. The slaw which tops all the tacos is to die for, as well as the side of fresh carrots/fresh ginger relish. Totally unique. Not to mention just an incredible waitstaff, very knowledgeable about GF, and a fun ambiance. Open all day/evening (doesn't close after lunch as so many places in Auburn do).

Had an excellent lunch here - with much attention paid to my gluten-free needs. Food is fresh and tasty, with an enormous array of sandwiches and salads to choose from (including with GF bread if desired). There was even a $1 "donut hole" pastry that was GF ... and ordinarily I'd be afraid of anything baked in a common kitchen, but not only did they say they carefully bake these in a dedicated pan, but another customer told me her daughter (who has a severe wheat allergy) eats them without problem. I bought one, and had zero problems at all. I'm just OK with the GF bread they serve (don't know the brand) ... very tiny, makes for a small sandwich, and crumbly like most GF breads. I'll probably do a salad the next time I try this place. But I highly recommend it! And great coffee as well! (By the way, the "brew" part is coffee, and not beer ... just in case anyone wonders.)

This restaurant seems to have closed its location, and are now in the catering business only.

A Chinese-Korean "fusion" restaurant. Most dishes are Chinese, with a few Korean dishes, and they are happy to bring complimentary kimchi (GF) to your table. (The waitress said her parents owned the restaurant, and one is Korean and the other is Chinese.) I had classic Singapore Noodles (curry and, in this case, with shrimp) for the first time in almost 7 years (since being GF), and they were fantastic! Perfectly prepared, and the shrimp was so fresh (a real rarity in Indianapolis). They are very accommodating, and speak excellent English, so communication is not a problem. However, YOU have to be the one to ask questions about your food; they'll bend over backward to assist and be safe with your food, but they are not "gluten" experts by any means. Example: they offered me Spring Rolls made with rice paper for an appetizer, but when I inquired, they were fried in the same oil with wheat products. However, they gave me a nice bowl of delicious Egg Drop Soup as my appetizer, and I was totally happy. So: ask questions -- but they seem to have many dishes in the menu suitable as GF, most of which seem to be traditional Chinese dishes. She did say to stick to the dishes in white sauce for GF, but that included a lot of choices.I read a review that they offer GF soy sauce -- but they did not suggest this to me (and I forgot to ask about it). I highly recommend this place -- but do come prepared to be explicit about your GF needs, and don't expect them to be experts.

UPDATE: changed my review from 4 to 5 stars. They now serve an Udi's crust GF medium pizza, with more complete info on GF toppings, and there's a lot if stuff we can eat. They also have off-premise prepared pizzas to bake at home. Their prep practices seem very reasonable in terms of safety. Impressed!! This is a great Donato's GF-friendly location (have heard some others aren't so great with GF). Always very careful with GF no-dough pizza. We get home delivery and I pop mine onto a pre-made pizza crust and reheat. Yum!! Salads are excellent as well. Restaurant itself is just OK; kinda boring, not too comfortable - but we prefer delivery anyway. The FOOD part is great. They even have my special GF handling instructions on file, when we give them our phone #.

Was pleasantly surprised to see such an extensive GF menu here - including some traditional pub food (eg corned beef!) I don't see very often. Fryers are dedicated, and seems like they understand cross-contam issues well. However, the GF bread they serve seems to be just plain ol' (and tiny) Udi's sandwich bread. Made for a very teeny Reuben sandwich and hubby's hamburger dwarfed the little pieces of bread. (He ultimately had to eat it with a fork.) The fries were awesome, but I've had better salads at Wendy's. They also had roasted tomato soup I hope to try maybe next time. It would be a great place if they would upgrade their GF bread!

They always make me feel like a queen, with special attention from the chef. Such great food, and they will work with you to make just about anything GF. Good kitchen practices to minimize cross contamination. Have heard they are also very accommodating about dairy free too.

A little pricey, but well worth it. Fish is fresh and excellent, and they offer a nice selection of GF options. Staff has always been very well informed and super helpful about GF. Best fresh seafood in Indy, IMHO, and is a great place to eat for everyone, GF or not.

Love CiP and they love us (GF customers). :-) TIP: Ask them to toast your GF bun, and serve it in the side. Their burgers are so juicy and goopy (with good stuff), the GF bun much less likely to fall apart if the patty rests for a few minutes, and you assemble it yourself. Salads are awesome!

Not sure they really "get" GF. Ask a LOT of questions, including where GF food items are prepped, what they're cooked in, if they come in contact with (non GF) bread, ask about all ingredients in detail. Am sure they're intentions are good, as they're very nice folks, but don't take it too seriously.

Fun neighborhood pub, with lots of extras for kids, and great GF options for everyone. Dedicated fryer - wings! fries! all are GF. Call ahead and they will fire up the GF fryer so oil is ready when you get there. Delicious salads, burgers, turkey, chicken. Great, young and enthusiastic staff, who really care about making sure you get a safe GF meal. Best burger buns around - tiny, but you get two! Owner is super nice too.
