  • Scotty Brown's

    5 starsNovember 28, 2012

3101 Newmarket St, Bellingham, WA 98226

Newer upscale restaurant with outdoor eating terrace open in nice weather. Very popular for business lunches so can get quite noisy. They no longer have a GF menu, but they do have GF options. Cowboy Salad is one of my favorites. If you want a nice presentation tell them not to mix it all together.

  • Skagit Valley Food Co-op

    4 starsNovember 03, 2012

    202 S 1st St, Mt Vernon, WA 98273

I like purchasing GF quick breads, muffins and cookies to go here. Also have GF deli items.

  • Calico Cupboard Cafe & Bakery

    5 starsNovember 03, 2012

121 Freeway Dr, Mt Vernon, WA 98273

Very good food! Many GF options. They not only have GF bread for sandwiches but serve GF bread with soups. Usually have 2 or 3 GF soups every day. Breakfasts are fabulous but come with your patience because it's a very popular place! Can purchase GF breads to take home. I recommend the Whole Grain GF. It tastes like a rye bread and doesn't fall apart when you slice it.

  • Trumpeter Public House

    5 starsNovember 01, 2012

416 Myrtle St, Mt Vernon, WA 98273

The best gluten free restaurant in the North Sound area. Everything on the menu is GF or can be made GF. Best bet is the Fish & Chips which are always GF. Shepard's Pie is also awesome! Private dining room for large parties.

  • Mount Bakery Cafe

    5 starsOctober 04, 2012

    308 W Champion St, Bellingham, WA 98225

Had the GF Eggs Benedict today. Amazingly good!!! The GF version is served on the Roasted Potatoes instead of a waffle. They just started serving Buckwheat Crepes--both sweet and savory. Also have GF Belgian Chocolate Cookies which are scrumptious!!

  • The Gluten Free Epicurean

    5 starsSeptember 27, 2012

    633 East 15th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5T2R6

Some of the best GF Baked goods I've ever eaten!! Their Cinnamon Buns (Rolls) are the best. Buy them already baked if possible. The frozen take-and-bake option didn't work out as well. Apple Fritters are great. As is the Organic Chicken Pot Pie in their freezer. Slice of Pizza was good and I was delighted to know they have a dairy free option. Sausage Rolls were good too. Yes, I tried a lot of their product!

  • Organic Connections Cafe

    5 starsSeptember 25, 2012

15622 Marine Dr, White Rock, BC V4B

I had the Vegan Pizza. Buckwheat & Sunflower Crust with Tomato-Basil Sauce, Creamy Cashew 'Cheese,' Alfalfa Sprouts and Fresh Tomato Sprinkled with Brazil Nut Parmesan. Excellent!! Also had Classic Borsht and Chocolate Ganache for dessert. Can't wait to go back. Many Vegan options.

  • Espresso Avellino

    5 starsSeptember 25, 2012

1329 Railroad Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225

The best selection of GF bakery products in Bellingham. They usually have GF muffins, scones and coffee cakes to go with their great coffee selections. Come early as they often sell out. My favorites are the GF Morning Glory Muffins which are also dairy free, and the Carrot Cake Muffins with Cream Cheese Frosting (would be dairy free without the frosting). Many soy free options. Although it isn't a dedicated bakery I haven't had a problem with the product.

  • Brandywine Kitchen

    4 starsSeptember 25, 2012

1317 Commercial St, Bellingham, WA 98225

One of the few places besides Five Guys where you can eat the French Fries. They don't fry any wheat products in the same fryer. Gluten free Mac & Cheese and GF sandwiches.

  • Olive Garden

    2 starsSeptember 25, 2012

4276 GUIDE MERIDIAN, BELLINGHAM WA 98226

The unlimited Salad Bowl is good although you'll need someone to eat the warm Breadsticks that come with it!

  • Bellingham Flatbread & Bakery

    1 starsSeptember 25, 2012

2500 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225

Be aware!!! They are not allowed to call their product Gluten Free so they have to call it "Gluten Freer." This is not a dedicated bakery. I cannot eat their product without getting sick. You cannot clean equipment well enough to prevent contamination when you alternating with wheat baking.

  • Anthony's Hearthfire Grill

    5 starsSeptember 24, 2012

7 Bellwether Way, Bellingham, WA 98225

Excellent food in arguably the best setting in Bellingham--at Squalicum Harbor.

  • Anthony's

    5 starsSeptember 15, 2012

25 Bellwether Way, Bellingham, WA 98225

Excellent food. Great variety of seafoods. Part of the highly regarded chain of Anthony's Restaurants in western Washington.

  • Bob's Burgers and Brew

    2 starsJune 21, 2012

4 Clubhouse Cir, Bellingham, WA 98229

In Sudden Valley area south of Bellingham. One of only two places to eat in this area. Salads are a good option.

  • Milestones Grill and Bar

    4 starsJune 21, 2012

    2070 Sumas Way, Abbotsford, BC V2S 2C7

Nice upscale restaurant near Save On Foods.

  • The Old Spaghetti Factory

    2 starsJune 12, 2012

    2030 Sumas Way, Abbotsford, BC V2S 2C7

The pasta dish was overcooked with less than flavorful sauce. Have also been to other Old Spaghetti locations which were better than this location. For instance, Whistler, BC and Lynwood, WA.

  • Five Guys

    4 starsJune 10, 2012

    1301 W. Bakerview Road, Bellingham, WA 98226

Gluten free French Fries are good. Nothing else is fried in the oil, which I believe is peanut oil. Free peanuts in the shell are also good!! There are no gluten free buns for hamburgers or hotdogs, which completes the entire menu! Huge choice of sodas and iced teas. Refills seem to be free.

  • Mi Casa

    5 starsJune 08, 2012

    505 32nd St, Bellingham, WA 98225

Probably the best Mexican restaurant in Bellingham. Nearly the whole menu is GF. Many vegetarian, vegan options. House made tortillas. They make tamales to order for take-out the end if each month.

  • Book Fare Cafe

    4 starsJune 08, 2012

    1200 11th St, Bellingham, WA 98225

Small cafe inside the very popular Village Books in the Fairhaven area of Bellingham. Has GF bread from Jensen's Bakery in Portland. Good soups, usually GF. Makes GF muffins and cookies.

  • Black Pearl

    5 starsJune 08, 2012

    202 E Holly St, Bellingham, WA 98225

Great Pho!!--the traditional Vietnamese Noodle Soup. Other Thai/Asian dishes. Has GF menu. My favorites, besides the Pho, are the Fresh Spring Rolls and the Vegetarian Vermicelli Noodle Bowl. Another location on Barkley Blvd.

  • Black Pearl

    5 starsJune 08, 2012

1255 Barkley Blvd Ste 106, Bellingham, WA 98226

Great Pho!!--the traditional Vietnamese Noodle Soup. Thai/Asian cuisine. GF menu. Fresh Spring Rolls on Appetizer Menu are great! I like the Vegetarian Vermicelli Noodle Bowl when the weather's warm. Have some Bubble Tea which comes in an amazing array of flavors. They serve a variety of Crepes which are NOT GF. Another location is on Holly St. in downtown Bellingham.

  • Hilltop Restaurant

    4 starsJune 08, 2012

5645 Guide Meridian, Bellingham, WA 98226

Very popular restaurant with affordable prices. No GF menu but they will accommodate dietary requests. My favorite is the huge Spinach and Smoked Chicken Salad. There's enough here for leftovers. Not sure how many salad dressings are GF, but I like the Honey Mustard, which is.

  • Bob's Burgers and Brew

    3 starsJune 07, 2012

2955 Newmarket St, Bellingham, WA 98226

Have eaten here but there aren't a lot of GF options. Salads and your standard meat and potatoes are about it. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you're looking for a place to eat on a Sunday their Sunday Breakfast Buffet from 8AM to 11 AM is very popular.

  • Bob's Burgers and Brew

    1 starsJune 07, 2012

    202 E Holly St, Bellingham, WA 98225

I would give the Barkley location a somewhat higher rating but none of the many Bob's Burger & Brew restaurants in Whatcom County caters to a GF diet. Salads are about it, or the usual chicken breast with baked potato.

  • Community Food Co-op

    5 starsJune 06, 2012

    1220 N Forest St, Bellingham, WA 98225

Has an eating area called Swan Cafe. Great deli! Good selection of GF salads and soups. GF rolls available but need to ask for them at the deli counter. Also GF desserts from cookies to muffins, and cakes to pies. Vegan friendly with many vegan options. Coffee bar for ordering lattes or fresh squeezed fruit/vegetable drinks. Store has one of the best selections of GF products in Bellingham. Also a Cordata location on Westerly Rd. near Costco.

  • Community Food Co-op

    5 starsJune 06, 2012

315 Westerly Rd, Bellingham, WA 98226

Great place to catch a gluten free lunch. New store with extensive selection of GF items. Deli has three soups daily--usually GF--and several salads. GF rolls available at the soup bar. Has probably the best salad bar in Bellingham! GF quick breads and muffins. Also great desserts from cakes to cookies and candies. Has a separate eating area where you bus your own tables. Coffee bar makes lattes, etc. There's also free tea in the eating area! Also has a location on No. Forest near downtown Bellingham.

  • Nature's Fare Markets

    5 starsJune 06, 2012

    19880 Langley Bypass, Langley, BC V3A 4Y1

Great deli!! Always a variety of gluten free salads and usually GF soup. They also have chocolate "bon-bons" for a sweet treat with your coffee. Haven't tried the sandwiches but everything seems to be made with care. Very knowledgable about gluten free.

  • Poor Siamese Cafe

    5 starsJune 06, 2012

1213 Dupont St, Bellingham, WA 98225

My favorite Thai restaurant in Bellingham. When the owner had a restaurant of the same name in a nearby town it was listed in Best Places To Eat In The Northwest. Exceptionally good!

  • Pepper Sisters

    5 starsJune 06, 2012

    1055 N State St, Bellingham, WA 98225

Absolutely fantastic Southwest cuisine. Several GF options--in fact most of the menu can be made GF. Sadly, can't have the delicious house made fried bread with honey butter! But there are plenty of delicious options to satisfy the most discriminating taste. Very knowledgeable about GF. Only open for dinner.

  • Colophon Cafe & Deli

    5 starsJune 06, 2012

    1208 11th St, Bellingham, WA 98225

Good place for soup!! They have at least two GF soups every day and often three. Use Udi's bread for sandwiches. Also have GF quiche daily, plus a variety of salads. Usually have GF Peanut Butter Cookies, but the best is their famous GF Peanut Butter Pie!!

  • On Rice Thai Cuisine

    4 starsJune 06, 2012

    209 N Samish Way, Bellingham, WA 98225

Many GF options usually found in Thai restaurants. Nice location but also have 2 other locations in Bellingham. One is in Fairhaven and the other in the Barkley area.

  • Wendel's Bookstore & Cafe

    5 starsJune 06, 2012

9233 Glover Rd, Langley, BC V1M

Charming place--great atmosphere!! I was there before they had their GF menu, but the muffin I had with my coffee was great.

  • Trader Joe's

    5 starsJune 06, 2012

2410 James Street, Bellingham, WA 98225

Great selection of gluten free products. They have a print out of their GF products which is about 6 pages long! There is no deli or cafe at this location.

  • Jeckyl & Hyde Deli & Ale House

    2 starsJune 06, 2012

    709 W Orchard Dr, Bellingham, WA 98225

This place used to be a safe place to eat gluten free until they started using a local non-dedicated bakery for their gluten free bread and small individual pizza crusts. Although the restaurant knows about cross contamination, be very wary of their product sourcing!! The large GF pizza crust seems to be OK as it comes from a food service source.
