Spectacular world-class cuisine. I am in such heaven now, having eaten at this amazingly fabulous restaurant. We had TWO out-of-this-world gluten-free desserts and there were others we could have chosen! And that was after a sublime main course. The attention to detail, the perfect service, and the elegant, tasteful decor all helped make our experience a delight, but the food was what is making me want to tell the world about this place. Be warned that Boulevard Bistro is difficult to find (allow extra time!) but it is so very worth the trouble of finding it! HIGHLY recommended. By FAR the best restaurant in Elk Grove. Actually that is a gross understatement: I've eaten in many top restaurants around the world, and this one is up there with them. My advice is to book a table several days in advance, and tell them you are celiac when you book, to give them notice. This is a very small, intimate restaurant and the menu changes regularly.

Note that this place offers delicious pizza labelled 'gluten-free' but they admit that cross contamination is highly likely so unfortunately if you have celiac disease this is not for you. Not sure what the point of advertising that they sell gluten-free pizza if it's not in fact gluten-free. The pizza was absolutely delicious but had I known about the cross contamination issue I would not have taken the risk. Please, Dominos, make it possible for us celiacs to eat your pizza!

Really FANTASTIC menu with loads of options, and every single thing I have tried here has been absolutely delicious. HIGHLY recommended for coeliacs and everyone else. A cut above your average airport food, and not expensive either.

I have now had four pizzas here and every one of them has been absolutely yummy. Moreover, the people serving are so cheery and nice that no matter how bad - dead tired etc - I have been feeling I have found myself smiling and feeling much better. They also have good tea, which helps!

I am so sorry to say this but out of four meals only one was edible. My gluten-free pizza was soggy and clearly microwaved; my dining companion's spaghetti and meatballs was blah - over cooked spaghetti - and my other dining companion's marinara was meh too. So disappointing. The waitress was lovely though.

HEAVEN! A-MAZING! They can do any kind of dietary preference, including low carb, gluten-free, and make any changes you like, with fantastic flexibility, and all served up with such charm and so many delicious smells. Just a delight! Don't even think about not eating here! A coeliac's heaven.

Was so scared to try this place having read dire review to the effect that this place if like Olive Garden but more expensive. In my view this place s nothing like Olive Garden! Our meals tasted fresh and delicious and the atmosphere next to the fire on the heated patio was marvellous. Highly recommended. Gluten-free menu, but don't let that put you off: the food was genuinely delicious, and did not have the feel of prepackaged junk in any way. Fab service too.

Very loud music and stressful environment but if it is really gluten-free their pizza is fabulous.

Pizza and curry?? I feared this place would be awful. How very mistaken I was! For a start, the man serving has celiac disease and was totally familiar with the whole gluten-free thing. To my amazement the menu clearly labels all gluten-free options. And the food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS -- real food, and real Indian food at that. Overjoyed to find this place. Don't let the strange combination of pizza and curry put you off: the food is really excellent. Next time I will try their gluten-free pizza. UPDATE: I have now eaten here several more times, and was very surprised to see a bad review here, so I asked the owner about it. He was surprised too, and said: "I have celiac disease. I KNOW about gluten!" Might it have been someone else (an employee?) who advised against eating there if you have celiac disease? It is so very different from my experience of this place. The first time we dined there we really quizzed the owner to check that he does in fact understand, and he really did seem to get it.

Note that I have not eaten here. When we phoned to ask if they do gluten-free food, they seemed not to know what we were talking about, so I wonder if there has been a change if ownership or something?

I have had marvellously fresh gluten-free meals here. Such good value.

No complaints from a gluten perspective, but I definitely wouldn't want to eat here again given how bad and dull the food was. (I had the baked chicken.) My dining companions had soup that seemed as though it might have come out of a packet, and shouldn't the cheese on pasta be Parmesan? What it was instead was something fake tasting. Really pretty dreadful. Even BJs have better pasta (and that is not saying much: I definitely don't recommend BJs!). Sorry not to be more positive.

No complaints. Fast food. Generous portions. The server was careful to warn me not to have tortilla chips given that they are fried in the same fat as gluten-containing items.

  • Pica Pica Maize Kitchen

    4 starsOctober 30, 2013

610 First St, Napa, CA 94559

Fresh and delicious, but the portion size was disappointingly small. We ended up here after eating at the other dedicated gluten-free restaurant in the Oxbow. The price for two small plates here was $19.

  • C CASA

    4 starsOctober 30, 2013

    610 1st St, Napa, CA 94559

Fresh and delicious, but the portion size was disappointingly small. As my husband said, this is a real delicacy but I'd rather have a little less delicacy if that would mean a little more food. We ended up having a second dinner at the other dedicated gluten-free restaurant in the Oxbow. Two small tacos and one glass of wine totalled about $22. Strangely, the portion of wine served here was enormous!

  • Red Fish Grill

    5 starsOctober 23, 2013

115 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

As a Cordon Bleu chef myself, and one who has eaten at many of the best restaurants in Europe, I am often disappointed when I eat out. But not here! The entree I have just eaten at Red Fish Grill is literally one of the best dishes I have ever eaten in my life, despite the fact that I requested the dish to be made without two of the main ingredients (crab and ham!). The sous chef who created my dish (Hickory Grilled Redfish: Tasso & roasted mushroom Pontalba potatoes, Louisiana jumbo lump crabmeat, lemon butter sauce) was Russell Bittermann, and he also created to order a vegetarian jambalaya (not on the menu) for my dining companion that was apparently absolutely amazing too. Frankly I am astounded that the reviews are not as gushingly positive as mine is. Sure it would be nice if there were more gluten-free desserts on the menu but if you go to New Orleans and fail to fine here for that reason you are insane! That sous chef is a genius, seriously! DO NOT MISS THIS ASTONISHINGLY FABULOUS restaurant! And not only was the food itself spectacularly good, the server, Ike Jackson, is adorable, entertaining and would be worth a visit even if the food were less good. I am over the moon. So so so glad I chose this restaurant. We will definitely be back. OUTSTANDING!

  • Margaux's Restaurant

    5 starsOctober 13, 2013

8111 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, NC 27613

This is quite simply one of the best meals I have had in this area, and actually in USA. Creative, thoughtful, interesting food with several delicious gluten-free options. My four fellow diners including a picky vegetarian were also very pleased with their meals. Absolutely first rate. I HIGHLY recommend Margaux's and only wish I were going to be around to become a regular there. The waiter was lovely too, and as we were leaving he rushed after us to tell us that we had inadvertently double-tipped, as they had already added an 18% gratuity.

  • The Flying Biscuit Cafe

    4 starsSeptember 03, 2013

2016 Clark Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27605

Lovely waitresses and no problem getting a gluten-free meal at this southern/sandwiches/breakfast cafe. Amazingly good grits. The only reason I am deducting a star is that there were flies, and some of the dishes were too salty (though no more so than i have found in several other local restaurants). Despite the salt issue, I will definitely be returning because the overall experience was good.

  • Brigs Restaurants

    5 starsSeptember 03, 2013

The best breakfast I have eaten in Raleigh. They cooked my eggs EXACTLY to my specification and more perfectly so than I myself often do. very impressed. No gluten issues. Lovely waitress. When told that the cup of coffee wasn't the freshest she promptly brought a fresh replacement that was good. Will definitely return.

  • Shuckers Grill

    1 starsAugust 27, 2013

3309 Rogers Road #245, Wake Forest, NC 27587

No issues from a gluten-free perspective, except that there were no gluten-free desserts on the menu, but the reason for my low rating is that they tried to get away with giving me cheap wine instead of the wine I had ordered, presumably assuming that I would not notice that what was in my glass was not the wine I'd be paying for. I wonder how often they do that and get away with it.

  • Sola Coffee Cafe

    5 starsMay 17, 2013

Fantastic independent coffee place where they care deeply about the quality of the coffee they serve. [UPDATE: They now have a gluten-free menu, and they have gluten-free bread now too.] [UPDATE 2: just had a FANTASTIC omelette with fresh vegetables -amazingly good!] They had gluten-free cake when I was there last, and they are friendly and the place has a lovely atmosphere.

  • Artesian Natural Foods

    5 starsMarch 13, 2013

145 Lincoln Center, Stockton, CA 95207

Wow! They really do have a huge number of gluten-free products here. It seems as though almost everything in this (small) store is gluten-free. Not really, but it does have at least as many gluten-free products as my local large WholeFoods. Impressive.

  • BJ's Brewhouse

    5 starsMarch 12, 2013

1689 Arden Way, Arden B., Sacramento, CA 95815

Not quite what I was looking for but I can't fault the service or the gluten-free menu and price.

  • Whole Foods

    5 starsMarch 05, 2013

8710 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615

They often have interesting tastings and samples that are gluten-free. I just wish they would make it more obvious which items are gluten-free. I had thought this store has fewer GF products than the other local WholeFoods stores but apparently that is not true.

  • Temple Coffee

    5 starsFebruary 16, 2013

    1010 9th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

Beautiful cafe which has loads of gluten-free sweet delicious cakes and cookies. They were so keen for me to be happy with my coffee that they brought me a second kind of coffee, a freshly made Sumatra Peabody pour-over, which was amazing. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended. Open 6am to 11pm 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

  • Coquette Brasserie

    5 starsFebruary 16, 2013

4351 Lassiter at North Hills Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27609

Despite the fact that this place is inconsistent in its brilliance (breakfast eggs were terrible, for example) it remains my favourite restaurant in Raleigh because on a good night, when the right chef is working, it is spectacularly good food cooked to perfection by a classically-trained chef who takes great care and is CREATIVE. They don't just give me a boring meal, they make something gluten-free that is INTERESTING. I love the atmosphere here too. I was just very disappointed with the breakfast/brunch, which this being a brasserie I had expected would be good.

  • Saint Jacques French Cuisine

    5 starsFebruary 16, 2013

The gluten-free bread was the best I have ever eaten. The food was really good, and the staff were lovely. Definitely worth dining there!

  • Rio City Cafe

    4 starsFebruary 16, 2013

1110 Front St, Sacramento, CA 95814

I had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. My non-celiac's Caesar salad looked very fresh, and the gluten-free dessert called something like "coffee and donuts" was absolutely yummy (and we did not mind that it was a tiny portion because it was such a high quality dessert). The espresso I had here is the best I have found so far in this area. I wish they were open before 10am because I'd like to have my morning coffee here!

  • Bella Monica

    1 starsFebruary 15, 2013

3121 Edwards Mill Rd, Raleigh, NC 27612

I must say that I am surprised that people seem to give this place good reviews. Perhaps some folk are just glad to be able to eat at all? I found two if their GF pizzas appallingly bad. How they think being celiac means you will eat absolutely dire food I don't know. The pizza base was TERRIBLE, and the stuff on top was also dreadful. It is perfectly possible to make good gluten-free pizza. There is no excuse for the dross they served us. Sorry! I hate to be so negative but it was BAD.

  • Gonza Tacos y Tequila

    5 starsFebruary 15, 2013

7713-39 Lead Mine Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615

This Chipotle is FANTASTIC! They knew all about "gluten-free" and the food was super fresh and beautifully seasoned. The place is sparkling clean, and I would definitely eat here often if I lived here.

  • Grange Restaurant & Bar

    5 starsFebruary 14, 2013

    926 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

I am in gourmet heaven after eating a truly spectacular gluten-free meal, clearly cooked by actual chefs who care about the food they serve. What particularly thrilled me is the creativity of the dishes they served me. So often gluten-free means devoid of creativity and dull and boring food. Not so at The Grange. They were amazing. The ambiance is also lovely and very suitable for a romantic dinner. If you love real food with originality and verve, as opposed to mindless meals, do try this place. I am so glad we chose this place! The menu changes all the time, they tell me.

When I asked about gluten-free, the manager herself took care of me, and she really did take exceptional care. I was very impressed and will definitely be returning. Very delicious and I expensive food, and it tasted very fresh, like I had made it myself.
