I was just driving through the area and found this little gem. I absolutely loved it. I got the spinach quiche which was amazing. I have not found anywhere that does a GF crust before. There were so many desserts-I didn't try any but I regret not taking some with me!

This is a dedicated GF restaurant. The sandwiches are made on wonderful homemade GF bread. My quiche had the best GF crust I have ever eaten. It was fun to have so many choices of things on the menu! Everything we had was delicious. There were homemade desserts available, but we did not try them since we were full. But it’s nice to know you can get homemade GF goodies, and many options!

It's hard to find a gf place, let alone a DEDICATED bakery, that non-gf people enjoy. We found one in this bakery/cafe. Son is celiac and we were passing through for a quick visit with our niece. We all enjoyed the coffee drinks, chai, and the food. She never ate gluten free and enjoyed her egg sandwich and it'soist biscuit. They seem to have a full breakfast and lunch menu, nice vibe, and sell local art and funky stuff. Recommend.

Beautiful downtown Square location although I think they may be moving. Good coffee selection and always great to go to a dedicated gluten-free facility. We had a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit and the half order of biscuits and gravy.

The food was delicious! We got enough food to feed six people, drinks, eight cookies and four brownies and it was $103….so not a bad place for ONE person to visit regularly. I think it was in the 70s before we got all the desserts though. The atmosphere was welcoming as well.

We love to frequent 1823 Bakehouse with our 17 yo with Celiac. She always gets the turkey sandwich but just recently got the Cuban and loved it. The quiche is so so amazing. An excellent variety of coffee drinks and smoothies. Banana Blueberry was the most recent one we got which was delicious. We appreciate this place so much! The treats are so yummy too. Brownies are a favorite as are the chocolate chip cookies.

100% gf menu. The oat milk for coffee was not celiac safe but was gluten free so a little disappointed I couldn’t get the oatmilk latte, but they had other dairy alternative milk available. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious. The turkey sandwich I got was just ok. Was nice to have a dedicated gf menu but food was just ok. Baked goods were delicious.

The best GF dedicated facility in the Indianapolis area. They are a 100% GF facility, they make all of the food and baked goods in their own kitchen, and they have a plethora of options to choose from. My wife requests a cake from 1823 Bakehouse every year for her birthday and for Mother's Day. They have breakfast and lunch options as well as baked goods so you can go for food and bring home treats for the entire family. Their Sugar Cream Pie Bites and Lemon Bars are amazing, and as someone who doesn't have Celiac (my wife does) I guarantee that you can't tell they're GF as opposed to "normal." I'm not a huge fan of their biscuits, but my wife loves them (again, she's the one with CD so she doesn't get biscuits usually so she jumps at the chance to get them here). They have tons of tea and coffee options, as well, so you can stay properly caffeinated while you're enjoying your meal. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone with a Gluten allergy, and even to anyone without a Gluten allergy. It's right on the square in downtown Franklin and they're great within the community.

This place is amazing. It’s hard to find a dedicated GF restaurant. Their bread is so delicious and soft. Their brownies are delectable. Icing was too sweet but that is ok.

AMAZING! I stopped in as I was passing by on I-65 and am so glad I found this place! I only wish I lived closer :) There are so many options! I had the biscuit and gravy and it was so good! I have a box full of goodies to take home and eat later and I am so excited :). The owner is also so nice and was excited on my behalf as I happily got my gluten free goodies! Being able to order anything on the menu without triple checking if it was GF was such a nice feeling 🥲

I only have good things to say about this place! I never would have thought that Franklin, IN would have one of my favorite GF cafes/bakeries! If you are gluten-free or just have a gluten sensitivity and are in the area, you should definitely give this place a try! You won’t be disappointed.

Little pricey for what you get, but food was good. Not the best I’ve had, but was fun to have gluten free biscuits and gravy. LOTS of gluten free baked treats. The little town of Franklin is super cute as well so it was a fun little stop off the interstate path.

Would highly recommend! The food and drinks were all delicious and safe. We all had various sandwiches and other items for lunch and took cookies and muffins with us for the road. The bread on the sandwiches was incredible and the muffins were at the top of the list of those we’ve tried.

Stopped in on a Saturday with our family and enjoyed the chocolate brownie, donut with frosting, cinnamon roll, peanut butter chocolate “Reese cup,” blueberry smoothie and iced butter beer without coffee. All 5 loved everything! The cinnamon roll was the best I have had in the past 3 years of eating gluten free!

Where do I start here! I have loved this place for years and their food is so delicious! Some of my favorite treats are the cinnamon rolls only offered on Saturdays and Sundays, all of their cookies, and the sugar cream pie bites are awesome too! It’s located in a very cute spot in Franklin as well so I always enjoy going there. They also have options for numerous other allergies as well and you will want to check that out as well! 100/10!

We were so excited to find a gluten-free restaurant near where we were staying (well 25 minutes away). We ate there twice, if it had been closer we would have had breakfast and lunch each day! I did get breakfast and lunch to go for later. Everything we tried was great!! Biscuits and gravy, an egg, sausage and cheese biscuit, muffins, sandwiches, brownies, cupcakes. So yummy!! Ordered for 5 people everyone loved what they had. Wish there was one near where we live!! 3 celiacs and one gluten intolerant everyone was happy and feeling good!!

The food was AMAZING! Their bread was so good that we all enjoyed their sandwiches. (Note, the gluten eating family members rarely, if ever, like gluten free bread.) Even brought a loaf home and we all ate it! Great dairy free options too and coffee too!

I have recently started eating gluten-free so it has been a huge change. This whole place is gluten-free and I am excited. I have had the carb pimento grilled cheese sandwich, biscuits and gravy, sugar cream pie bites, and a brownie. I can not wait to eat my way through their menu.

Couldn’t say enough good things about this place! Great selection of sweet and savory options, and everything we ordered tasted excellent. The biscuit we got with the sandwich was the best GF biscuit we’ve ever tried. Its a quick stop off I-65, and we’ll certainly plan on stopping in again!

I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and have been struggling to find any gluten-free restaurant options that aren’t cross-contaminated. I happened upon 1823 Bakehouse as we just moved close to it’s location and I’m so happy I did. I haven’t tried anything that I didn’t like and haven’t had a single episode of vomiting after eating there which is a miracle for me these days. I have gone to the restaurant and had it delivered through GrubHub and have had only positive experiences each time. Highly recommend the biscuits & gravy, street tacos or any dessert! I’m still working my way through the menu but if I dine out I pretty much exclusively go here.

This is a dedicated Gluten free facility!!! I ordered a few small items including banana bread and a fudgey brownie, and my wedding cake! The manager is extremely friendly and accommodating and is definitely there for the customers! She went the extra mile to accommodate for all the allergies in my family so everyone could celebrate with me!! 10/10
