I would steer clear from this restaurant if you have Celiac disease. I am an extremely sensitive celiac and explained that to the staff, ordered off the GF menu, but I still got glutened.
The staff I spoke with seemed knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination. They assured me thoroughly that they are super careful and my meal will definitely be gluten free.
About an hour later I was violently ill and needed to be taken to the hospital. That was the only food I didn’t make myself, so I am 100% certain my meal at 8 East is the cause of the glutening.
I ate dinner here with my family and very much appreciated the separate menu featuring gluten-free menu items & items that can be made gluten free when asked. I also am intolerant to dairy and eggs and the server was very knowledgeable in telling what the chefs would do to accommodate my dietary restrictions. I ordered the chicken fried rice (with no egg and added bean sprouts and confirmed the meat is made on a grill with no contact with sauces or gluten items), lamb lollipops (I can't remember if a modification was made here) and musubi bites (with no egg or sauces). I also got a cocktail and verified the vodka was gluten free when ordering.
The food was so delicious and I haven't had a bad reaction - gluten or otherwise!
We may very well return here this trip so I can try more of their offerings!
I went here last night, had the brisket fried rice (made gluten free) and the fried bacon (off the gluten free menu). Both items were delicious, portions were great as well.
Then about 4 hours after I ate the food I was stuck in the bathroom exploding into the toilet and puking in the trash can at the same time for about an hour.
I'm not sure if it was gluten as it doesn't usually make me throw up (although sometimes it can when it's a really bad glutening and it's been a long time since I've been glutened), or if I just got food poisoning. But the only other thing I ate that day was from a 100% gluten free bakery that I've eaten at multiple times before and been fine.
Like I said, food was amazing...but I haven't been this sick in years. Go at your own risk.
Bustling restaurant on the second floor inside Circa in downtown Las Vegas. 21 and older only. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is on the small side. It's equally loud to other Vegas restaurants. Their "small tapas" plates were almost meal sized. We definitely ordered more than we ended up being able to eat. We got a couple items off the official Gluten free selection and a couple off the gluten free available section. Chicken wings were super crispy. Very good, but not quite as good as the sizzling shrimp, which came in a bowl with a broth and other veggies (100% recommend this dish). We did get the lamb lollypops too. Well cooked, but too peppery for our taste. The green beans are not just beans but came with a protein. We got it with pork. So good! We also got the vegetable fried rice, which was probably the best we've ever had. I felt great afterwards. This will be on my list for next visit for sure.
So happy we are here! Celebrating our 44th anniversary, so my husband is also eating GF, since I can't even be near him for a few hours if he doesn't. He does that most of the time, and I'm very thankful for his support!! The Head Chef came to our table to talk to us and put our order in, so that was an added bonus! I got the sizzling, shrimp and buttered mushrooms, and they are amazing! Still feeling great, and I would know by now, even before I finish my meal. Alyssa is sweet and so helpful, so please ask for her if she's available. Thank you, 8 East, for a beautiful anniversary celebration❣
