NOT celiac friendly as they advertise. Yes, they have "gluten free" products but they do NOT prevent cross contamination.

I had always heard they were gluten aware and take extra care to ensure cross contamination doesn’t occur. However I used my Nima gluten sensor and it came back with gluten in my meal. Not a safe place to eat.

Abe's is a staple in our takeout folder. They are extremely conscientious about cross contamination procedures and use high quality gluten free ingredients (buns, etc). When ordering takeout they have no problem packing gluten free orders separately.

I asked for gluten free and also onion free. Unlike other restaurants they went out of their way to ensure they were not going to inadvertantly serve me something that would make me sick. The cook himself came out to the table to discuss my food sensitivities to assure me my food would be safe to eat. It was delicious and i had absolutely no reactions whatsoever. I haven't been able to eat poutine in a restaurant in years... oh my it was good!

I've been eating at Abe's regularly got a long time. I've watched my food prepared and have never had concerns about CC. I always advise I am celiac and have a wide variety of items on the menu I can eat. Definitely my favorite place for breakfast and a burger!

So I went to this restaurant today with my husband after looking at recommendations from this app. Everyone says that it is celiac safe so we chose to try you out! Even their website says they are! However my meal was not safe! We sat at the bar and watched our meal get cooked. I asked for the eggs benny and yes I asked for it to be gluten free. The eggs and bread were safe but it was missing the bacon it was called for on the menu and after watching how it was cooked I am glad it wasn’t added. However the hash browns being cooked on the same grill that the buns were cooked on was not safe at all and neither was the bacon! I ate the eggs and the toast with the tomatoes and the avocado but that’s all I could eat and I was very nervous doing so! I was then charged an additional $2.50 for a meal that I could barely eat and had items missing! Basically I left feeling very nervous and disappointed! Yes I know my disease is my problem but if your advertising being celiac safe then it needs to be that way!

Abe’s is a locally owned modern diner that serves delicious comfort food, most of it made from scratch. All burger patty’s are home-made and the fries hand cut as well. There is a separate gluten free frier for fries! Eggs Benny, Chilaquiles, GF french toast, Burgers with delicious GF bread, GF poutine, authentic Mexican Tacos, Milkshakes, GF quinoa brownie, etc.

Knowledgeable staff, can make burgers on gluten free buns. Care bakery buns are awesome! They said they have a dedicated dryer. I wish their gravy was gf. Also wish they had more gf breakfast options, there was only one thing I could order at brunch, the breakfast sandwich with gf care bun substitute. It would be so great if they could have gf waffles!

I love their buns! The buns are not dried out or hard. They not only have a dedicated frier for fries, but you can substitute any burger to have a gf bun! Only down fall for me was they do not have a chicken burger, (only “pulled chicken” with sauce.) I can not digest red meat or pork. So I just had the veggie burger. But the fries were great!

Definitely the best celiac place to grab a burger in Airdrie. I recommend the barbeque pulled chicken. They get their gluten free buns from a bakery in Calgary known for its baked goods (Care Bakery), and they have dedicated fryers for gluten free and celiac individuals.

They offer wonderful buns, from a bakery in Calgary and have a dedicated fryer for the fries. They are a small business and have an open kitchen so you can see the items being prepared.
