Can't speak to the food as we ended up getting skeeved out and cancelling our order and leaving.
I tried to ask if the fryer had any wheat or gluten in it and the waiter told me "we don't use gluten here.". 2 items on the menu are not marked gluten free - I asked and he shrugged and said he didn't know. I ordered a combo plate (marked gluten free) and then the waiter stopped me to say that he wasn't sure the chorizo was gluten free. The combo plate I ordered was marked gluten free and the chorizo a la carte was also marked gluten free.
I wasn't confident the waiter or the restaurant knew what was and wasn't gluten free, so we went elsewhere.
Ate there for lunch with sisters (non gf)Sept 3, 2024. I am diagnosed celiac and collagenous microscopic colitis (so many other foods I have to eliminate to stay in remission of this disease). The food was great! So much flavor! The sign in front says “gluten free”, and most items on menu were. Menus does list gf items. Due to previous reviews, I felt safe eating here, and I was. Service was a bit slow, so be ready to relax and enjoy the location, we ate outside. We all loved our meals.
There was a bit of a language barrier on gluten free with the staff. Sign of a good ethnic restaurant. Once we clarified that we were allergic to harina de trigo (flour of wheat) it was all good.
Absolutely fabulous! Completely celiac friendly! 10 stars! If you are in Albuquerque you MUST make this a stop. Had the yucca fries and empanadas. Between the 4 of us we tried the chicken, the beef, and the chili de verde. The chili de verde was our favorite. All delicious! All gluten free and noted as such on the menu.
This tiny dedicated gluten free restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. The menu is small but everything is great and I’ve never had a bad meal or been ill. My favorite is the ropa vieja (shredded brisket) with patacones (tostones or twice fried plantains) and beans. The empanadas are made with corn and delicious, particularly the green chile, a local staple. (I can’t speak to the ham and pineapple empanada as that’s a recent addition.) I also like the arepa con queso (corncake with cheese) appetizer and the arepa con choculo (with sweet cheese and chocolate) dessert. Highly recommended.
It’s a small place but they do take reservations and do carry-out.
WOW! GF empanadas! Delicious food, good coffee, outdoor seating, contactless payment.
We shared savory plantains (fried and salty), cheese arepa (super yummy and did not skimp on the cheese), and very yummy yucca fries. I got the shredded chicken arepas which was every good and filling. The others in my party got arroz con pollo also good. Another got the chicken salad salad good but not a fan of the dressing and the Chicken was over cooked.
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. From the moment we walked in I was in love with the service and atmosphere. Our sever was friendly and helpful. The food was top notch. The fried cassava appetizer with chimichurri was my favorite item and quite possibly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Chicken empanada was a close second. I am gluten free and dairy free and my server was able to recommend several items that would work for me. It seemed that almost the entire menu was gluten free. If you are a gluten free person passing through Albuquerque… or any person in or passing through Albuquerque, you must go here.
Not suitable for celiacs. Food was delicious, and staff said that everything was gluten free, unfortunately ended up sick a couple hours later.
Purportedly dedicated gf (most Colombian restaurants are). Delicious empanadas and arrepas; hearty & filling. Fried yucca is just like french fries but better. Amazing dipping sauces (i.e chimichurri). Friendly service, perhaps a little on the slow side though. Cute (though small) outdoor seating area. Menu is a bit meat-heavy, but I was able to find sufficient vegetarian options. Beware the green chili empanadas are really spicy (but in a good way)! My friend had the arrepa sandwich at loved it (it looking delicious). The restaurant is in a cute, well located area, tucked back from the main drag, and connected to several other adorable restaurants/cafes.
Excellent. 100%GF. All Covid measures appeared to be being followed
