This was probably the best pasta dish I’ve ever had. I got the seafood garlic Alfredo and the pasta was delicious, it tasted home made. I called ahead of time to make sure that they had gluten free options and the woman who answered the phone was so knowledgeable, she said they can make almost everything gluten free besides chicken parm and eggplant. I was happy to hear this because their menu doesn’t mention gluten free. (At least online). I get really worried about gluten in my alcohol as I’ve gotten so sick from this before, so I asked my server if he can check if the vodka in the drink I wanted had gluten. He basically stared at the ceiling and said he thinks it doesn’t. I asked him if he could just double check with the bar tender and he just stared at the ceiling for a minute straight again. I just got a wine instead to be safe, because he would not check. A manager brought my food out and even said gluten allergy meal when they put it down. I will definitely be going back to this place, their market next door has gluten free pasta, prepared dishes, crackers and tons of other stuff to make at home. This is definitely a new go-to spot for Italian.
Server clearly did not understand GF, snickered when I asked her to bring the to go box to the table vs her taking it with all the other plates to box. When I had put in box, she replied, “ can I touch your dish now?” My chicken dish with artichoke, gf penne & peppers was good but lacked flavor and I did not have any issues after eating it so clearly it was prepared gf. I would go back but request another server!
Food was fabulous. I'm gf and df. Server checked on details of how my meal was prepared. Definitely will be back.
GF at al Fresca has come a long way since some of these comments! The GF penne is SO good! And they can do most the chicken dishes GF so there are a lot of options. I’m DF too and they can do the Marsala sauce DF. Al Fresca is one of my favorite restaurant so I’m so glad I can still eat here!
I’m not celiac so I didn’t ask about cross contamination, but I know they make the pasta in a separate pot, so it’s possible they can accommodate cross contamination as well! Staff and management are super friendly, just ask!
