Our quiche is a huge hit and honestly so easy to tweak to allow gf customers to enjoy as well. I've experimented with making 'boats' of mixed quiche ingredients topped with sun dried tomato basil pesto. They just didn't sell as well as I'd hoped. Maybe it was the timing? Right now I've pulled a lot of carrots from my garden and have blended them up into fine bits. These bits are being used not only in our smoothies, but also into our gf carrot oatmeal bars with cream cheese frosting. Whoa! So good and good for you. Felt incredibly safe here. Any question I had they were able to answer for me. The Farmer’s quiche was insanely delicious, I could’ve had 5 of them. I also got to try a chocolate butterscotch blondie which was so good, I made my non celiac family try it. They said it was one of the best things they’ve had! I believe it was the owner who brought our food to us and she went above and beyond taking the time to explain her GF cooking process which made me feel even safer. Would eat here everyday if I lived here!

It was so refreshing to visit with your crew! I was sorry for the prior troubles that you'd had at other establishments in town. Your immediate reactions are as important to AFCH as your later reactions. And being completely aware of the certifications/ingredients is a must for a tiny shop such as ours. Thank you for stopping in and letting us assist with feeding the crew. And you're correct, the quiche is amazing. When I bought the shop back in 2018 that was the most requested item that I was asked to KEEP and not change. Smart decisions (however I didn't get rid of much, I just made tweaks here and there - like making homemade items rather than purchasing from other places that had made that item).

I do hope the rest of your journey was safe and successful (in the gf department).

This place is great!! They have gluten free quiche and pastries. They used to offer gluten free bagels and breakfast sandwiches but they said they’re getting rid of them which is super disappointing because they were great. The service is friendly and everything was delicious. Highly recommend!!

Ate here twice with no issues during a recent stay in Rapid City. Very knowledgeable about cross-contamination procedures, all the GF items are prepared separately, and there are even separate toasters back in the kitchen. Had the GF quiches (make sure you specify; the gf version has no crust), which are especially good if you make order one of their GF everything bagels and combine them into a sandwich (with the sun dried tomato mayo).

I had the gluten free breakfast sandwich on a gluten free everything bagel. They had two options- regular or everything for the bagel. They also had two other gluten free bread choices. Overall not impressed. I echo the other review about the sandwich being small for the price. Also, we order ciabatta but it was definitely more like a gf french roll. Our order took almost 15 min with no others waiting (for a deli club, so not a cooked or hot sandwich). They also forgot our coffee orders, the coffee didn’t taste good, and one of them was wrong. I’m going to chalk it up to then training a new team member but honestly, we could have just gone to Jersey Mikes and stopped for better coffee elsewhere for less money and time. Not worth it.

And if there is a line of orders, the preparations to complete to ensure gf items are impeccably taken care of increases that time table. Thus the length at which it took to receive your food. Great coffee and sandwich place. Their gluten-free breakfast bagels were amazing! We ordered ours with eggs, cheese and bacon. They grill their gluten free bagels and bread to keep it separate from gluten items. The owner is very friendly and understands cross contamination and takes many measures to prevent it. I ate their several times and didn't get sick once. Also, all of their smoothies can be made dairy free, if desired. If you have food allergies and want someone who takes it seriously, this is the place to go.

Was tasty and safe, but just FYI the proportions are pretty small in my opinion. I probably could have eaten two sandwiches. I got a BLT on the everything bagel. Also, I got a mocha and it tasted really bad, I don’t know if I just had bad luck? Anyway the sandwich was really good, just small.

Maggie. The proportions are smaller but are not only healthier but are also more expensive to produce. If the sandwiches are bare, with no veggies, then yes, the size will be seen as small. But put some garden on that plate and you'll be filled a lot faster than eating just bacon and tomatoes. Just a suggestion. As for the mocha, I'm curious if there was a mix up and the chocolate wasn't added or the milk was wrong. I do apologize for that inconvenience. That is not something we want to happen to anyone. If you are ever in the shop again, give me a heads up so I can assist with the corrective action that needs to happen to guarantee your mocha is tasty and is on the house. This was such a cute place to eat this morning. The lady that helped us was so great with making sure my GF bagel was on the GF grill and not run through the toaster. The food was so delicious.

I wanted to love this place but I seemed to have a completely different experience than other reviewers. Not sure what all the hype is for “celiac safe”.. I read all reviews, called ahead and was told they keep a portion of the grill separate for only gluten free items, and felt very reassured they could provide a safe hot sandwich. Went in about 15 minutes after calling and was told they recommend a cold sandwich if very sensitive. So I ended up ordering a cold ham and cheese on “bread”. It was almost $8 and didn’t come with anything else (no side or drink). I opened up my container and it ended up being Turkey, not ham on what looks like a Schar bread roll. Bare naked other than that and they didn’t have packets of Mayo or mustard and I was not offered any veggies for sandwich. Also, gluten free treats are baked in same pans as regular items so take caution. I didn’t bother asking any more questions as I already felt unsure and annoyed.

Jaimz. I'm sorry for this experience. You are right, this sandwich was not our best footing in your path. There are so many things that should have been done differently. Why you were told to have a 'cold' sandwich, I'm flustered about. Why the meat was wrong, the bread was wrong, and that there was no addons suggested (at register & relayed to the kitchen), I'm again flustered and now appalled.

As for our baking, correct, we do use the same pans however the pans are not only rinsed thoroughly, they are then washed, rinsed off again, and sanitized in bleach water for 30+seconds. The pan usage shouldn't be your complaint. The staff issue that didn't follow thru on our reputation and on our solidness of being homemade & friendly should be the foremost issue at hand.

With that said, if you are ever in town again, please let us have a Mulligan. Call and ask for me, Patti. Let me assist you and make up for what was lacking in the first place. Friendly staff and a bunch of gf options. All sandwiches can be made on gf bread/ciabatta/bagel. The quiches are also available gf-minus the crust. I had the farmers quiche which was super delicious and the ham, cheese, sausage bagel. The bagel was fluffy and not dry. They also have cookies and some cake.

Service was wonderful. Cute little hole in the wall place. Great GF options. I had spinach and tomato quiche and my son had oatmeal with fruit and pecans. Great place. Homemade gluten-free bread, gluten-free bagels, and all other types of gluten and dairy free options available. I had an egg sausage sandwich on their homemade gluten-free bread. Was so good. There was much more I could order. I suggest you stop by.

The owner home-makes the gluten free bread including Ciabattas and White bread she also has gluten free bagels available or breakfast Sandwiches. She has a dedicated gluten free grill for paninis and asks if you are celiac and then takes the proper precautions. She’s so sweet! Definitely will be coming back when I’m in Rapid City again!

Joy. During our masked period, it was imperative that all staff wore them correctly. With a spouse in the health care field, masks were not an unknown to me and their presentation of use was not unknown either. Thus I posted statements reminding staff of proper wear. As for our gf items, they are always homemade and are always plated with keen observation to all cross contaminates. There are many GF smoothies. Some cookies. They have 2 types of GF bread and made sure not to cross contaminate. They had quiche and many other GF items. The sandwiches were fantastic!

Suzy. Since your last visit, we have expanded even what you mentioned. The smoothies have expanded from 12 to about 40; the cookies are seasonal options that rotate thru and are certified gf items made in house; the gf quiche is a hit all year; and we are bringing in gf egg sticks that are for travelers who don't want to sit and eat. I'm glad you enjoyed the gf bread options for our sandwiches. Sadly we've had to remove all sandwich options from our menus, however we'll return some seasonally and limited. Be very careful if you don’t know what’s gf and what’s not. The stag thought they were knowledgeable but I don’t think they knew exactly what gf is. They said the oats in the fuel bites were “rolled oats so they are gf” but that’s not completely true obviously I didn’t get that obviously. CAUTION some smoothies have malt so those are not gluten free. However the smoothie I chose and the gf cookies were very delicious and went back again.

Kirsten. Correct, rolled oats are NOT gf certified oats. As for the the fuel bites, we do use Quaker oats, which are NOT certified. However, for us, they are the most economical and cost affective. And generally if the conversation is one of gf issues and smoothies are ordered, we do direct customers away from the malt items, or if anything, advise removal of the malt. They do not have a dedicated grill, but will put tinfoil down. They understand the difference between gluten-free and Celiac and will make every effort to keep you safe.
