We are thrilled to find this 100% gluten free restaurant. It's a Mexican restaurant with small plates and tacos.
My husband and daughter rates the food 5/5. I would give it 3.5/5. The food tastes fresh but I could use a bit more flavor.
Either way, the service and ambiance were excellent. We'll definitely come here again and again.
MUST EAT! Do not skip.
Dedicated gluten free AND authentic. I wish I lived closer. This is well worth the drive/uber for visitors staying in Boston.
First of all, being able to pick anything off the menu is priceless. We ordered guac and chips, chicken enchiladas and pork enchiladas - and the server had follow up questions for us: regular guac or spicy guac? Refried beans or black? Mexican rice or lime rice? Y’all, OPTIONS. And everything tasted amazing.
Great environment, amazing food. The entire menu is gluten free. It is a small space with few tables, we had to reserve seats at the bar, which worked out great. Everything tasted fresh. Excellent margaritas. Chips and salsa were light and fresh. The tamales in the trio de tamalitos small plate were fluffy with tasty sauces. Shrimp tacos had a perfect mix of shrimp, sauce, and cheese. We will DEFINITELY be going to Amuleto again.
What a gem! This place is wonderful. It’s so cute inside. They have plenty of tables outside. We sat at the bar. Margaritas are excellent. Guac is creamy and delicious. I got a fish and steak taco and my husband got carne asada. A totally gluten free environment that’s delicious too? You need to get here!
I went here for my husband‘s birthday and was pleasantly surprised to see on their menu that they are a 100% gluten-free dedicated restaurant. I confirmed this with the waiter when he came over because it was not evident on their website. He confirmed that they do not have any gluten in their kitchen. My husband got a chicken mole dish, which I was happy to try. We got guacamole and salsa and chips and I got fish tacos. Everything was very tasty and it was lovely that it was safe.
I called before going to ask about the fish tacos to see if they were not only gf, but also dairy-free. Some places use dairy to dredge or marinade the fish and some use dairy in their sauces. The chipotle creme is dairy free, as is the avocado mousse that tops other tacos. The fish was too. He said all the food was gluten free, just not the beer. The fryolater is also so you can have the tortilla chips too.
This place is completely GF. They said they couldn’t say certified but they’re not even allowed to bring in their outside food per the server. Took my anaphylactic son and zero issues!!! We loved the chips, salsa, and guacamole. The tacos (especially the steak) were packed with flavor and the steak/enchiladas dinner was also full of flavor. We would 100% done here again as it was GF safe and tasty too!!!
Felt very safe as the restaurant is dedicated GF, but the quesadilla was probably the worse I've ever had. I did get take out so maybe that was the problem, but it was sopping with grease and made me feel sick, I couldn't finish eating it. Not a Celiac reaction, just so much grease. I was very surprised based on the reviews. I would consider coming for in-person dining to give it another shot, but be warned for take out.
What a find: this entire restaurant is GF. No worries about cross-contamination or mishaps. So nice to have full pick of the menu. Food was delicious, inventive upscale Mexican. Grilled cauliflower, grilled halibut in corn sauce, and mojito mocktail were highlights. Good tacos. Great outdoor seating. Good service. Make a reservation though. It’s small and popular and fills up. More $ than typical Mexican but worth a splurge. Will go back.
Absolutely delicious!! I was extremely delighted to find this place as Waltham is a halfway mark between my house and a friend’s house. I now fully plan to go here many more times even though the location isn’t actually all that convenient. The entire place is GF. I was in disbelief! Beer at the bar but that. is. it. Please go here you won’t regret it!
This was some of the most authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had. We are here for a soccer tournament with a celiac child. We were so excited to find this place had a gluten free kitchen. My son loves tacos and love these as well. I highly recommend this place even if you are not in need of gluten free.
Entire menu is gluten free. Could completely relax & enjoy not worrying about what to order. Since I’m from AZ, decided to go basic with chicken enchiladas with red sauce and refried beans. Very tasty. Shared chocolate pudding for dessert and it was delicious. Service was excellent and nice ambiance.
Hands down the best experience I’ve had in a Mexican restaurant in or near Boston. It’s so refreshing to know I can order anything and it will be safe. I take friends and clients here as often as I can find the time. I stopped by last weekend after a bike ride for much needed tacos. My current favorite is the Baja fish its so bright and delicious
The staff from door to table to bar to kitchen is top notch
Cannot oversell. This place is phenomenal for celiacs and anyone that enjoys good Mexican food.
The gluten-free, dairy-free fried fish tacos and al pastor tacos were amazing! The short-rib tacos was a little lackluster, but even that was way better than what you normally get gluten-free and dairy-free at a Mexican restaurant. And they’re open late, and you can order on DoorDash. What more could you ask for?
100% gluten free (kitchen environment) besides the beer they serve. I highly recommend eating here, the food is delicious and safe! They were able to cater to my dairy free allergy, as well. I got the pulled pork, pineapple tacos along with chips/guac/salsa. So good, will be back.
My go to for Mexican food. Always good always fresh never reacted to gluten or dairy. Nice staff. Chips are safe and delicious
I was pleasantly surprised when I asked if they have a gluten free menu, and the waitress informed me there is no gluten in anything they make. First meal in forever that I don't have to spend a significant amount of time worrying about cross-contact or explaining my dietary restrictions to everyone I'm eating with. I was overwhelmed by the options and only ordered a salad - but I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!
All of the food was tepid or cold. We ended up leaving when they served us our food, because the food was so bad. They still charged ($100) us for the food even though we didn’t eat it. So awful. I did eat some chips and a taquito which were good, but then my neck turned red and face swole up. Very obviously a gluten reaction. I ended up puking before I left. (Gluten reaction)
One of my favorites! The food menu is entirely gluten free, and it's some of the best Mexican food I've had. Everything I've tried has been delicious; the pork belly guacamole is a favorite, the tacos are a regular take-out order, and the enchiladas and camarones a la diabla are amazing!
