A group of us went to dinner for a 40th birthday and the reviews were outstanding, so we decided to try it out. The waitress was rude with an eye roll when I told her I had celiac disease, and my girlfriend had a dairy allergy, even though they were supposed to be highly trained for these allergies. I got the scallops/asparagus risotto…first time it came out it was cold, so I kindly asked to have it made again. The next time it came out piping hot, but I had to share the bite of scallop to another friend since it had a high ammonia taste. The chef came out and in fact was a bad batch of scallops. I would not recommend!

First time here, notified waitress of celiac. She assured me that they change gloves and use new pans, etc. I got the Halibut with mushroom asparagus risotto and it was delicious! No reactions! Would visit again.

Wonderful meal. Advised Marla, our waitress, right away of having celiac disease. She made certain to notify the kitchen and I did not get sick. Menu labels all meals that can be made gluten free. I had the honey salmon, side of potatoes, side salad and the chocolate torte. Tasted wonderful. Thank you Apache and Marla!

The staff was very knowledgeable about celiac disease and went through the menu with me very carefully. They prepared my food using separate prep space and it was delicious!

Great food. When we mentioned the order was for celiac the waiter explained that they take careful precautions to help prevent cross contamination. He explained that all the items in the particular item I ordered are prepared separately from any gluten items but they would also ensure they are extra careful.

Fred was our server and was so helpful! He consulted the chef about everything, even though it was busy. Had the smoked whitefish dip with gluten free crackers, halibut with risotto was delicious! Even had a flourless chocolate torte. I get sick very easily and had no problems here!

GF menu with almost all items on regular menu. Lots of options. They brought GF crackers in place of bread. They warned me brussel sprouts were not made in a dedicated fryer (but said they could separately pan fry). Food was excellent - service was also.
Yes
GF menu excellent, on pricey side but fish worth it. Bar service was average. They seemed to have a bit of a fly problem which always aggravates me so if this was improved it would have been a 5
CAUTION!
Ordered two items from GF menu, they were BOTH served as the full gluten versions--regular crackers came with the gf appetizer. They didn't look GF so I asked TWICE and was assured they were and ate them. Ten mins later waitress came running out saying sorry you were right those were regular crackers. Then ordered steak off GF menu and it came drenched in gravy. I was skeptical so this time I didn't eat until they confirmed that yes, they had given me a regular steak even after the appetizer fiasco that ended in them giving me Benadryl.
While I appreciate restaurants that offer a GF menu, if you can't handle actually preparing food GF, please just don't offer a GF menu.

We went to Apache Trout Grill specifically because we were looking for a Celiac-safe restaurant for our son who has Celiac Disease. We ordered an appetizer off the GF menu and specified that our son had Celiac Disease and could not have any gluten. Our server brought the appetizer (from the GF menu) on a plate with different types of crackers (all containing gluten) and a side plate with rice crackers - not at all aware that she contaminated his appetizer (from the GF menu) by having all of the crackers on it. When my husband explained the problem with the appetizer, the server got defensive and said that is why she brought rice crackers on the side. She basically had no clue, but I also don't know how a restaurant with a GF menu doesn't understand that it can't have gluten containing foods on it. We did not have much confidence in the restaurant, nor did we get any kind of apology for the mess up. We would not return. P.S. We had two other issues not related to GF. We would definitely NOT recommend!!

Neither the kitchen, nor the staff was educated on what was gluten free. Ordered off the gluten free menu and was served tuna with soy sauce on it. It took 10 minutes after I inquired as to whether or not it was gluten free soy sauce to get an answer (which was no it was not gluten free). Went here for our first anniversary and got sick. luckily I had only 1 bite before I realized there was soy sauce on but that's all it takes. I don't recommend this for anyone with celiac disease or a sensitivity

Fabulous food and service. Complete GF options. Very accompanying waiter, Jason, who was very knowledgable. Outstanding views. Had the Michigan whitefish and the shrimp appetizer! Excellent-price well worth it!
Nice atmosphere good food!

Ate here for lunch and they did not have many GF options on the menu, but we're able to accommodate with several dishes upon request. I had the walleye, which was delicious and they even made a small helping of GF cream sauce. Disappointed that there was not more fish to choose from. Also, I'd rate this as a five star setting and view of the water with an amazing patio, but two star service. Our waitress was not knowledgable about GF dining.
great food. gluten free options. noted on menu
