Rock star treatment! When I asked for a gluten free menu they told me pretty much the entire menu (save the obvious such as bread, mac & cheese) was gluten free. They asked if I was celiac, intolerant, or just preference. When I said Celiac they wiped the counter down and processed my order first. The cherry on top was when the lady told me the bbq sauce bottles likely had c.c. THEN proceeded to offer me clean bottles from behind the counter. I'd give them ten stars if I could :)
Very knowledgeable and they made sure there was no cross contamination. All of their meats, sides and sauces are GF and contain no MSG. Not to mention it was excellent BBQ by any standard. Go here if you get a chance and tell them you need it GF and they'll make sure you don't get exposed and you'll have an amazing meal. I would not change a thing about this place.
I ate here last Sunday when they opened. I told the guys there I had heard they were celiac friendly. He put on new gloves. the menu states all basically all their food is MSG and gluten free. They do have some dessert items like brownies along with Texas toast for the BBQ. it worked out great! I will go back.
We stopped here for lunch while traveling through specifically for because of their gluten-free options they did not disappoint!! Don't let Archer's fool you, they know what their doing. Everything is GF!! Meats, sauces, and sides...they know not to cross contaminate!! The guy getting our food washed his hands and changed gloves. They also have sauces separated and marked GF!!had the the shredded pork and chicken along with their potato salad. The portions were more than enough to fill up on...Delicious!!!
completely blown away. The food was incredible and we could eat almost anything on the menu. They washed their hands and changed gloves and gave us individually packaged sauces on their own, telling us to not use the ones on the table to avoid cross contamination. highly recommend. If we lived closer we would be regulars.
Don't let the college age guys behind the counter fool you. They know their stuff - changed gloves, wiped down their workspace, and even made sure I had BBQ sauce from behind the counter so I wouldn't have to use the contaminated ones on the tables. All that and the food was top notch. Do yourself a favor and try the loaded potato salad - it's awesome! Will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.
The workers are very understanding of people with Celiacs and they take care of their customers. My husband and I were impressed by the amount of food we got, and were surprised when we received and extra portion of meat because we could not have the bun! Would recommend this to everyone!!
We ordered the meat plates of chicken and pork with sides of buttered corn, not-yo-mamas collard greens, stewed green beans, loaded baked potato salad, and sweet potato chips. They have 6 sauces to choose from to met all taste buds. All items on menu are gluten free except deserts. Loved the pulled pork plate. The loaded baked potato salad and sweet potato chips are my favorite. Can't go wrong with anything at this eatery!!!
Just driving thru for lunch today and stopped in. All meats and sauces are gluten free and most sides. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Loved the brisket and baked beans. Very Celiac friendly.
All their meats and sauces are gluten free. They changed their gloves between making my sons order and mine. Also, all the side dishes are gluten free with the exception of the Mac & cheese. Great food and great service!!
Archers BBQ employees are attentive to the concerns of individuals with allergies. The bbq is worth stopping and indulging in amazing meats and sides like baked potato salad! Make a stop at one of their many locations around the Knoxville area.
Ate here at the location at Callahan Rd for the first time today. They weren't busy as we were early. I told the guy I needed GF for celiac. He told the gal also working. He sprayed down the counter and handle to the meat warmer. I had the pulled chicken plate minus bread, BBQ beans, and sweet potato chips. They said the chips under the warmer may be cross contaminated from making plates for others and suggested using the chips in a reserve bin but they wouldn't be hot. I was totally fine with that and appreciated them telling me. I felt really safe here as their menu says all sauces and sides except Mac and cheese are GF.
With celiac I am not used to having so many options. Pretty much everything at Archer's is gf except the bread, which is amazing. The food tastes fantastic and the staff are super knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Archers BBQ offers a mostly gluten free menu. All of the meats, sides and sauces at Archer BBQ are gluten free and msg free. The only items on our menu that are not gluten free are the bread, buns and desserts.
