Arepa Bar

The Arepa bar is located in the Midtown Global Market. It is Venezuelan food featuring Arepas and Yucca. The owner Soleil greeted us at the counter. As soon as I mentioned gluten free she asked if I was worried about cross contamination or not. When I said yes she gave me several options to try. The menu in the market was not labeled gluten free but she was worth more than a menu and the online menu does list gluten free. I chose the chicken salad arepa. Fabulous! I inquired about the yucca sticks and there is no separate fryer however she offered to make the fries two different ways if I wanted. Fabulous food. Knowledgeable owner. Fantastic experience. She mentioned she will be at the MN State Fair and is the only gluten free, vegetarian, vegan option. Definitely check her stand or restaurant out. You wont regret it.

Not sure if they have a dedicated frier and would like to ask next time I'm able to in person - BUT only one of the fried items on the menu contains any gluten. Tons of choices on the menu and really wonderful authentic venezuelan food!
