GREAT Kitchens trained
Great food selection gf bun option staff very aware of allrgy Great service
Was traveling thru PA and found this place about 5 minutes off the highway. Many gluten free choices, food tasted great, waitstaff was great too!
The food was great. They have dedicated fryer and gluten free buns which are really good! Everyone in party of 8 had a great meals. Highly recommend! I have celiac and had no issues.
Aroogas has quickly become my go to spot when we eat out. They have a great selection of gf items.
Great place for family meal. Lots of gluten free choiced.
My girlfriend needs a gluten free diet. Aroogas always does an awesome job with the food.
Staff was knowledgeable. One of the servers actually had celiac so that was helpful. They have a dedicated wing fryer so I got wings which was awesome because so few good wing places have a dedicated fryer. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back!
This place is the best!!! I have celiac disease and it is so bad I cant even have my food prepared on the same area as other food or I get sick. I have been here a few times and not a once have I been sick from eating. It is our new spot to eat that we drive 25 minutes just to get some takeout, or if we have time we sit and eat. Not only is the food great but the staff is phenomenal and have great procedures when it comes to food allergies. Not only do I recommend this place to my friends with no allergies, but I almost push people with gluten intolerance and celiac disease to go and try the food. I cant say enough about this place.
Really great GF and vegetarian options! They really know what they're doing with protocols and ingredients. The waitress was super nice and the manager came out to confirm things with me and talk about options. I'll update after some time passes to be sure I had no reaction. I had the Beyond bratwurst appetizer (not listed GF on the menu, but it is) and the Tray of Spuds (tater tots and chips, the fries are not GF) with a sauce flight (the three I chose were Cajun ranch, horseradish aioli, and buffalo blue cheese). Very tasty and I'm super excited to have more than one option! Update: No reaction here! I'm super sensitive, so they're doing things properly.
I felt very safe ordering here staff was very well educated. Even told me they have separate prep areas and fryers for GF foods. Menu was very well labeled makes it so easy to see all my options! Food was delicious. I actually questioned in my head if the bun was indeed GF cuz it was delicious!! Only downfall was there was no GF dessert options :( I LOVE dessert! And was very disappointed after an amazing GF menu that there wasnt a dessert option for me.
We tried three times to make sure and the three times it was bad, the food is mediocre, wings were nasty, one time I got frozen tater tots, another day I got bread on top of my ribs so I told the waiter remember I said I was GF? I can’t eat this food now so the manager came and told me they ran out of ribs and they didn’t have anymore for me. I do not recommend this place
When I visited on Aug. 5th, the staff was kind and courteous, and the atmosphere fun, retro, and relaxing. Aroogas even advertises a gluten free menu (and has received excellent reviews on FindMeGlutenFree for having a kitchen trained in dietary restrictions). However, even after explaining the severity of my celiac disease to the waitress and the need to order solely off their gluten free menu, I still ended up receiving my order with potato rolls (which contain wheat) rather than gluten free buns. I realized this after eating one bite, and the staff was very kind and genuinely apologetic and quickly fixed my order. However, as anyone with celiac disease knows, the damage was done, and it has taken me about two weeks to start regaining my energy and overcoming abdominal cramps. I blame myself for not talking to a manager first when I arrived and for being too trusting, especially since I rarely eat out due to the severity of my celiac. That said, a restaurant should not advertise gluten free if they cannot make good on it, especially since this can severely affect someone's health - it's not a fad for me, it's avoiding chronic pain and staying healthy. Again, the staff was very kind and apologetic, but the restaurant needs to take gluten-free off the menu. If you do not have any food issues, then this likely would be an enjoyable and fun dining experience. However, if you have celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, then stay far, far away. Risking your health is not worth it.
Dined here because they were rated highly by others, as well as claim to have trained staff in preparing safe gf meals. Daughter was glutened here, even after telling our server she was eating gluten free for medical reasons. Will never eat at any of the Aroogas ever again-and will not trust restaurant reviews on Find Me Gluten Free. Biggest mistake I ever made.
Based on reviews from the app, we tried Arooga’s with our 19 year old son with Celiac. First off, our waiter Brett was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He placed an allergy alert on each item we ordered so the kitchen staff would know. We ordered two baked potato soups, sliders with bacon and cheese, tots with bacon and cheese and seafood nachos. Shortly after he placed our order, a young lady came out from the kitchen to see if sour cream was okay for the soup since there was an allergy alert. It turns out, the sour cream was gluten free but it was great that she double checked with us. That gave us the utmost confidence that the food was being prepared safely. While my wife and I had a few gluten-containing adult beverages, it was great for all of us to enjoy tasty gluten free appetizers in a very safe environment. My son had no reaction at all other than a full belly and a smile! While we are from right outside of Atlantic City, we visit Lancaster often and will definitely be back. Thanks Arooga’s for being so conscientious. PS - menu items are clearly marked GF.
Place was awesome! Knowledgeable staff. I asked a lot of questions and waitress knew everything that was gluten free. Dedicated fryers for chips and tots. A lot of options to choose from, everything is marked if it is GF. Gluten free buns for burgers and sandwiches. Will definitely be back!!!
First time was a disaster - waiter mixed up plates with another patron and gave gluten burgers to my son. When we questioned because the bun clearly looked like a gluten one, he assured us it was correct. I didn’t agree and asked for the manager to confirm as well. That’s when they discovered mistake. After talking to manager, I was comfortable that everything had been cooked safely and separately. We had them remake just in case. No one got sick. I went back again and had no problems. Food is ok - typical American fare, good for picky kids. *Went again, twice. Fantastic!
Driving by, this place looks like something you might find on Bourbon St. But beyond the sports bar/club atmosphere there is REAL FOOD, SERVED LATE. Gluten Free food is clearly marked in the regular menu, and there are a good number of options, most notably GF Chicken Wings (and Tater Tots)! Staff was nice and accomodating, and the Mrs loved the food.
I ordered a burger on a gluten free bun. The waitress didn’t ask me how I wanted my burger cooked and it was raw in the middle and cold!! I sent the burger back and asked them to remake it and it was even more rare then the first burger!! The bun was soggy and not appetizing! The bone in wings were good but other then that would not recommend.
I ordered a Turkey, Bacon, and ranch sandwich on a gluten free bun. Well the first time they brought it out, it was in a flour tortilla. I sent it back reminding them I'm gluten free. The next time they bring it out, I saw pieces of the flour tortilla on my plate. All they did was take the contents out of the tortilla and put it on a gluten free bun. Beware eating here....
I ordered a cranberry walnut salad that was listed as Gluten Free on the menu. The salad came out without the cranberries and walnuts. When I asked the waitress what happened to the missing items she asked me if walnuts were gluten free. Waitstaff is clearly not knowledgable in gluten-free items on its menus or at all and did not feel comfortable eating the salad.
I went recently because of good reviews and a lot of choices for GF. I ordered the GF wings and tater tots. The waitress served my husband his full of gluten meal and then put her hands on my plate. My husband noticed. She said she made sure she didn't. I made it home and spent the next 12 hrs in my bathroom. Still felt wiped the next day. I don't know where the cross contamination happened.
Clearly marked GF options. When the kitchen brought my salad with croutons, our waitress wisked it off the table, scolded the server and apologized profusely before getting me a new salad. Mistakes happen so I do appreciated the efforts to correct it quickly.
